hey james! in case it hasn’t crossed yr screen, may i recommend WILD ZERO from japan (starring guitar wolf). it’s a zombie/alien invasion film where rock and roll never dies, and love has no borders, nationalities, or genders. it’s hella fun!

Hi James, really love your Monster Madness series (the first video I saw when I got my computer in 5th grade was your Top 10 Movie Monsters video).
As an East Asian Nerd, I was so excited to find that there were people in the West who loved Japan’s Tokusatsu Kaiju movies just like us.
Since then I’ve been looking around and watching your Angry Video Game Nerd and Monster Madness videos for years.
Really looking forward to your China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore Episodes, especially the horror films of Hong Kong, they really represent our Chinese speaking world’s folk culture.

Wow, I’ve never expected you to talk about El Chavo del Ocho. The dude in the colorful cap, Quico, played by Carlos Villagrán is an AMAZING character. He’s a jerk, and while it’s stated he’s wet behind the ears and a bit dim-witted, some of the skits make it look like he’s doing it on purpose, to troll everyone. He usually gets karma come to him so don’t worry. One of the bet trolls and characters from the 70s.

Chavo del ocho it’s Mexican, but it’s a good example of Spanish and Latin American humor of the 70’s, dumb, light hearted and a dose of machismo.

Man, I’m so glad to hear you mentioning “El Chavo del Ocho” (“Chaves” here in Brazil), that’s one of the reasons I admire you, James, you are always researching pop culture elements from all over the world.

Well, you forgot to mention the illegal US embargo and commercial blockade to Cuba as a cause of pain, suffering and hardship for its inhabitants…

El Chavo del Ocho is Mexican humour. It’s like calling “English” humour to everything made in English language. You surely wouldn’t do that with American products. Not all Spanish speaking countries share the same type of humour, as you can easily imagine since they are more, more populated and more varied than English speaking countries.

Hi James! You mention a Spanish film on the list, is that maybe an upcoming video and this was published out or order? Cheers and good on you for opening up Monster Madness in this way!
