January 14, 2023 at 7:28 amI remember renting this when I was 9, and even back then I remember thinking that this was a really queer film. I also remember me and my housemates renting it again 11 years later and thinking that it was even more weird than I remembered. But the power of the internet had me find out why, and you touch on it in this video, 2 different films spliced together. Part of me wishes they’d kept the original director and finished the film as it was supposed to be, maybe the studio wishes that too as it’s clearly a work of art and the better of the 2, but then another part of me thinks, that it’s weird and bizarre plot, and all over the place quality, story + plot, gives it it’s own uniqueness. I’m not sure what the general consensus is about this film, as I get the feeling it’s considered crap/a bit silly etc.. but it’s actually one of my favourite films of all time. Possibly the nostalgia of the first time I rented it plays a part in that, but it really does have this ‘WTF???’ quality to it that very few films have.
