We review Mortal Kombat II (2026)… and we filmed the whole review inside an actual movie theater. We both liked it, and we dig into why some video game movies get it right while others completely miss the mark. We also break down the upcoming wave of video game movies on the horizon and talk Mortal Kombat as a whole: from the arcade days through the 1995 film, Annihilation, the 2021 reboot, and the games themselves. Karl Urban joins the franchise as Johnny Cage. Directed by Simon McQuoid and written by Jeremy Slater, the sequel to 2021’s Mortal Kombat reboot from New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Hit theaters May 8, 2026.
