December 12, 2016 at 1:39 pm
I’ve followed you from the start, but so far I’ve NEVER commented on any videos at all. Now, I could not hold my breath any longer, I had to login through Facebook just to say: that is not creature from the black lagoon! Not Ring King nor Muscle. That is Pirahna Man from Pro Wrestling! A game you guys definetily should do some day! 🙂
All the best from Sweden, in snowy Scandiniavia.

Its the Amazon 🙂
December 13, 2016 at 6:11 am
Starman The Amazon, and Giant Panther were my favorites from Pro Wrestling on NES.

I kinda agree that shark movie thing but I am hoping that you check out the 2016 movie Shallows. It was pretty good, honestly. Not your typical shark movie at all and at times very intense.

Your CD-i needs the digital video cartridge guys. I’d love to see more reviews on that crap system you guys would have a blast! Plus it has the best version of 7th guest even far better than the PC version. Now I’m off to play this Abobo game lol

The cock still isn’t nearly as long as Mike’s
December 12, 2016 at 6:09 pm
wtf is going on with this game. It looks fucking awesome.
December 12, 2016 at 7:07 pm
There’s a CV2 hack in progress called Pyron which is kind of “Castlevania in Space”.
December 12, 2016 at 8:25 pm
Makes me wonder if the Nes would actually be to handle this game.
December 12, 2016 at 9:52 pm
James about those joke cards I think they were in boxes of Nintendo fruit snacks or on the back of them that you had to cut out. I remember something like that when I was a kid and wanted to collect them.

Death Blossom was from the movie The Last Starfighter. The main characters were surrounded then activated The Death Blossom which sent them spinning around in a circle shooting all over the place somehow killing all the enemy ships.
December 13, 2016 at 12:56 am
Oh, if you guys want to play this with a controller, there is a program called key to joy, that allows you to bind keyboard keys to a joystick/controller.

December 13, 2016 at 4:14 am
No, it’s the pickle from ice climber
December 13, 2016 at 8:08 am
“Death Blossom” is from The Last Starfighter by the way.
December 13, 2016 at 8:50 am
“Death Blossom” is from the movie The Last Starfighter (1984). Thought, you’d know it, James.

Started playing this yesterday after I saw you guys episode – with a usb nes controller from Retrolinks – and gotta say, it’s one crazy ride. To think someone came up with this, it plays so well, and without a many bugs/issues… and its running in adobe!? Wow, thats talent & dedication. I’ve played alot of rom hacks, but nothing quite like Abobo’s Big Adventure. Thanks for featuring it – I might have never knew it existed if you hadn’t picked it for James & Mike Mondays.

This is an amazing fucking game. I had so much fun watching you guys play it.
The pointy dick map. Mating with the mermaids. SHIT Pickle?!
Also, when you were fighting that Old Giant with the beef, it just looked like you were jerking him off to death.
I love seeing all the NES characters that show up. That reminds me, have you guys done a video on Yo! Noid yet? I feel like that would be perfect for AVGN.
December 13, 2016 at 10:51 am
The fucking Noid. What kind of insane shit was that?
All this reminiscing led me to watching game play footage (it’s amazing how certain music sticks in your mind forever, kind of like Rockin’ Kats), reading the Wikipedia article (interesting why they stopped doing the character) and watching a bunch of old commercials on YouTube.
I suddenly have a hankering for some Domino’s. It’s incredible that those advertisements still work all these years later. 😛
December 13, 2016 at 2:49 pm
Alright Mike! You recognized the Dragon Quest/Warrior Slime!
December 13, 2016 at 9:37 pm
We are struggling to get this franchise to the spotlight so more games can make it outside of japan.
December 13, 2016 at 3:25 pm
Pro Wrestling is the game you were thinking of. Not Ring King. Not Muscle.
December 13, 2016 at 9:39 pm
The pickle thing is from Ice Climbers. Apparently, it gives you extra health.
December 14, 2016 at 5:02 am
Of *course* you can do it with an NES controller with USB. They say right on their website.
Step 1: Buy a USB-NES adapter. (The one they show is actually the exact model I have)
Step 2: Install Joy2key (I actually prefer Antimicro because it’s cross-platform, open-source, and, in my opinion, better designed.)

Awesome video, really fun. This game looks amazing. It gets frustrating watching and knowing all the references better than James and Mike, example them struggling to identify the wrestling game and then the four wwf wrestlers that cameo. Otherwise, great stuff and I can’t wait for part 2. Thanks James and Mike, great video!

MAKE ASTRO BASTARDS VS THE FLYING FUCKERNAUGHTS A REALITY!!
I have started a petition in order to convince James and the rest of the gang to lengthen this farcical short trailer into a longer movie (perhaps merely an internet short, but still.). The link to the petition is below.
Sign his petition if you’re ready to see this film come to fruition in some form. And, if enough people sign, I’ll get in touch with the powers that be, and create a kickstarter to donate the money to the appropriate people who could get this project done.
I would like this film to become a reality, so much so that if this petition reaches 100 people, I will donate $1000 of my own dollars to help the movie get made. Even if it is only a cheap internet short, I think it would be hilarious to see, as it would incorporate the vast background knowledge of bad old sci-fi and horror movies that the AVGN and Nostalgia Critic are known to possess.
It would work on several levels, as pastiche, as slap-stick, as commentary on “bad” old movies, as well as critique on the overblown sci-fi blockbusters we’ve all come to expect from today’s market. And, bottom line, with them at the helm, it would be hilarious.
The link to sign the petition is below.
Come on… you know you want it.
