You know…I don’t really care for this movie. Saw it both by myself at home, and during one of those “midnight showings”. It just didn’t do anything for me. I mean sometimes an audience member is heckling the movie and gets a good laugh out of me…but in general, I just don’t get it. : /

I’m not the biggest fan either, but I think the soundtrack is pretty awesome.

I saw this movie in theatres with live actors playing out different scenes throughout, when I was 14. I’ve been scared ever since.

I’m so sad you didn’t get to do The Greasy Strangler for the last WTF Wednesday.
I can’t believe this is the last WTF Wednesday.
    Fuck. 🙁

I know it’s too late for WTF Wednesdays, but I just want people to see it at this point.
It manages to out-Troma Troma. 😛

As soon as tim curry shows up, most of the dudes in the theater have their assholes clinched so tight that bad Milo could not get back in there

  • October 26, 2016 at 6:29 pm

Really got to ask… which movie did the image at 00:09-00:10 came from?

The movie is awful. The idea of a crowd going through some scripted reaction isn’t social – it’s ridiculous.

    • October 26, 2016 at 10:32 pm

You don’t like it’s okay, but don’t spoil the fun of the others.

The movie not awful it’s just weird and fun ..reaction script why not if your going to see it in theater with other people or just throw a party and do it with your friend might just be what you need to de-stuck you up

Phaantom of the paradise is GREAT.
It screams Brian DePalma in every scene.
This on the other hand is trash… I’m guessing the same people who enjoy doing the whole scripted shit are the ones enjoying flash-mobs and shit like that… To each its own.

  • October 26, 2016 at 10:29 pm

That’s an awesome movie, I watched lots and lots of times, but unfortunally never had the chance to experience in a theater. It’s insane, satirical and really fun.

I don’t know that Frank N. Furter is a vampire, but it totally wouldn’t surprise me. Love this movie – so much fun and so much variety!

Yeah, I don’t think it was ever implied that he was a vampire. Dr. Frank N. Furter, Riff Raff, and Magenta are all aliens from the planet Transsexual in the galaxy of Transylvania. My guess is their mission was to blend in and study the human race. Frank N. Furter took it too far by creating Rocky, his own version of man and giving away their identities.

Great choice. It really is a cult phenomenon. I actually perform this with the San Francisco area cast called Bawdy Caste. It’s a great and inclusive culture which is the main reason the cult has lasted this long.

And you should mention the incredible performance of Tim Curry, who is fantastic, as an actor AND as a singer. He and Richard O’Brien are why this movie became such a success. I don’t know for you, but for me making a remake of it was the stupidious idea of the century.

I luv this movie. Never totally quite get it but man the songs are addictive and I just regret not seeing this in theater or musical show…

I agree. It’s undeniable that the movie is a cult phenomena. But the FACT is that it’s a piece of shit. All over the place, boring and painfully dated.
People can dance and dress up all they want but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s crap. I don’t even understand why you made it part of your series to be honest… It doesn’t belong… oh wait… WTF Wednesdays. OK. It kinda does then.

Was never a big fan of this movie, but I loved it when the TV show Cold Case did a Rocky Horror episode, with the characters in the flashbacks playing characters from the movie and all the background music being songs from Rocky Horror. They even got Barry Bostwick himself to play the serial killer that the cops are trying to keep behind bars, so he doesn’t kill anymore people. Highly recommended episode for any fans of this movie. Still love the review though and love Tim Curry and Bostwick in most of the stuff I’ve seen them in.
