      September 23, 2016 at 3:12 pm

Fuck yeah! This looks like it’s going to be the best one yet! Love the idea of subcategories for each day of the week!

Oh yeah, definitely! Let the EPIC experience begin!

  • September 22, 2016 at 11:08 am

Oh yeah, looking forward to this. 🙂

  • September 22, 2016 at 11:08 am

Hey james have you considered doing tales from the crypt? I know its a series but since each episode is by a different director theyre basically tiny instant classics. Not to mention its some of the best 90s horror

  • September 22, 2016 at 11:09 am

  • September 22, 2016 at 11:11 am

    Loving this promo.
Can’t wait to see what twisted nonsense will be reviewed in this marathon.

  • September 22, 2016 at 11:12 am

Sick, finally going to do Bad Taste. Been requesting that one for years 🙂

  • September 22, 2016 at 11:30 am

Very excited! I look to this every year!

I know the site will always celebrate Halloween and horror movies but knowing that this is the last time we do the full month makes it already a bit bittersweet.

  • Michael Mayne

    September 22, 2016 at 11:36 am

    Can’t wait!

  • gow75

    September 22, 2016 at 11:46 am

james please please do review of other horror movies that are a lot more harder than the freakin conjuring like these for example:

    August underground
    a Serbian Film
    High Tension

found footage movies – the Garlock Project

    tons others

    • jasonjrf

      September 22, 2016 at 12:17 pm

Dude some of those suck and theres not much to say about them. People think a Serbian Film and August underground are good for some reason. There just garbage shock gore with no real story. You may as well just go watch decapitations or something if thats what you want. Horror with a great story that is disturbing is what is great and great to review you need to have something to talk about when you review a film. High Tension is awesome though.

    • September 22, 2016 at 1:03 pm

      All of those suck.

    • The Kaleidoscopic God

      September 22, 2016 at 2:47 pm

When did “hard” ever strike you as a quality James is after?

  • gow75

    September 22, 2016 at 11:47 am

Also chinese horror flicks as well!

    • bud

      September 22, 2016 at 9:01 pm

Has James done Encounters of the Spooky Kind (aka, Spooky Encounters) before? It’s kind of like Evil Dead, except with Sammo Hung.

  • September 22, 2016 at 1:02 pm

I’m gonna miss Monster Madness, but this will be an awesome end to a ten year Halloween tradition. You dudes worked hard on this, didn’t you?

  • September 22, 2016 at 1:02 pm

Huhauhua can’t wait to see this shit.

  • FXguy

    September 22, 2016 at 3:58 pm

Hell yes! I look forward to this every year; sad that it’s the end of an era, but happy that it’s the start of something new.

For the record, have you guys seen the new Shin Godzilla yet? The screeners were released today for review, and it is amazing.

  • September 22, 2016 at 5:33 pm

    Hey James,

Just wanted to say here that I’ve always regarded Cinemassacre’s Monster Madness as completely necessary for my October and my Halloween.

I’ve always loved horror movies, but you really got me into the classics and early horror I would never have discovered myself.

It’s been amazing you’ve done this for ten years and I’ll bet I’ll be watching your videos for far longer.

    Cheers Mate!

    September 22, 2016 at 5:57 pm

It would be awesome if the comeback MM 11 will include his daughter helping do the reviews in 10 years or so lol. I absolutely love the lineup the guys have for each day.

It’s going to be the best Monster Madness EVER!

  • frostare

    September 22, 2016 at 7:18 pm

Lemme guess, it be an MMORPG like Dragon Quest X. =P

But seriously, this promises to be the best marathon yet!! I cannot wait!! And like every year, I’m excited to see what movie review will fall on my birthday.

  • September 22, 2016 at 8:19 pm

I kind’ve created a holiday specifically for watching horror movies for those that don’t celebrate Halloween, what a perfect time to celebrate Horror Movie Awareness Month, then with Monster Madness X!

    • bud

      September 22, 2016 at 8:58 pm

How does one celebrate Halloween other than watching horror movies all month?

  • bud

    September 22, 2016 at 8:56 pm

Damn, they’re coming out of the woodwork.

  • September 23, 2016 at 12:04 am

    Hell yeah!

  • Hanglyman

    September 23, 2016 at 12:19 am

Here’s hoping you finally do Phantasm. With the fifth and final film coming out this October, it’s the perfect opportunity!

    • bud

      September 23, 2016 at 4:52 am

There’s a new Phantasm coming out? Holy shit! And Angus Scrimm makes his final appearance in it? I hope they do right by him.

      • Hanglyman

        September 23, 2016 at 10:30 am

Me too. I was so sad to hear he died early this year. Even if the movie is bad overall, I’m sure he’ll be great, he always is. They haven’t advertised it much… I heard about it, no joke, via a sticker on a hearse!

      • bud

        September 23, 2016 at 5:45 pm

Haha. I guess that turned out to be a great form of advertising!

  • September 23, 2016 at 12:34 am

There are so many more movies, monster madness could return next year for just 7 days or halloween. Don’t see why it has to be all or nothing

    • September 23, 2016 at 12:36 am

Very looking forward to it though!

    • September 23, 2016 at 12:36 am

      September 23, 2016 at 4:54 am

I don’t think he’s ruling out a week-long Monster Madness (fingers crossed), but this is farewell to the last decade of 31 day marathons.

  • September 23, 2016 at 1:41 am

I really hope you do a review for “Unfriended”!!! I can’t wait!!

  • September 23, 2016 at 1:46 am

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. The Final Marathon. Damn you! God damn you all to hell!!

  • Savikain

    September 23, 2016 at 4:44 am

I totally understand that Monster Madness takes up a lot of time and why you can’t commit to a full marathon anymore, having a family and all, but the wrestling fan in me wants me to chant: PLEASE DON’T GO! PLEASE DON’T GO! PLEASE DON’T GO!

  • The Wicker Man

    September 23, 2016 at 4:52 am

    September 23, 2016 at 8:37 am

  • DMM_poo

    September 23, 2016 at 4:55 pm

And you just set up the video store… Seems a waste to not use that more. Maybe you can start giving us one edited movie review per month, based out of your video store. Angry Video Store Nerd?

Never before have I been so happy and yet so sad at the same time. Thank you for a decade of Monster Madness, it has been such a wonderful experience. Hopefully, you’ll end up with some extra time for R&R now because you deserve it. Keep up the good work, man, and thanks yet again for your nostalgia-powered time machine.

    September 24, 2016 at 2:33 am

    You guys are so great.
We ask for more Boo (the cat) and you give it!
That narrator’s voice got me so pumped!
Let’s hope this final Monster Madness is as “final” as the Friday the 13th movies.

  • September 24, 2016 at 6:11 pm

I made this for fellow fans and James to enjoy. I can’t wait until next Saturday. Monster Madness X will begin the last major run of these marathons.

I wonder if this is actually the last season for monster madness. It could be, but James could also be playing a horror movie sequel joke to surprise us with. It really could be anything even something to take its place. My gut tells me that he will keep working (on multiple projects at any given time) and we will probably see a return of Monster Madness in some form down the road.

  • September 25, 2016 at 1:47 am

Anyone else think he should totally review Extreme Ghostbusters? It got a lot of the same complaints of “forced diversity” with a new cast from fans back in the day as the remake*, but I think James’d like it alot better considering how fuckin’ HARDCORE it was for a kids cartoon, and how good in their own right the new charcters were. Like, they had a goddamn Hellraiser-inspired episode that marks as one of the most messed-up moments on kids TV, it’s great.

*IMO in my book the remake, which I did see, was “flawed but admirable,” in that the story structure had issues with a really rushed third act, but the characters were great; the tone/pacing really did feel like they tried to capture the old Ghostbusters spirit, and they ended up creating a lot of their own; new moments not derived from the old movie. I disagree with James’ decision not to see it, but I’m at least glad he’s not joining in with the sexist manbabies rallying behind that editorial and just being chill and mostly letting it lie instead of pulling a JonTron.

      September 25, 2016 at 5:58 am

Yea Extreme Ghostbusters, Sure its not same old GH but i like it anyway because new team are nice touch, much more than all girl team in lasted movie.

      September 26, 2016 at 3:05 pm

Think zombie flesh eaters has been done; zombi 2 definitley

  • September 25, 2016 at 1:17 pm

James, may I suggest you an horror movie about frustration in creativity? It’s called Deep Dark (Michael Medaglia, 2015). It’s a small production, extremely peculiar and self aware. It may give you some nice moments of entertainment.

      September 25, 2016 at 6:30 pm

I loved this one. Kind of reminded me of Being John Malkovich.

    September 26, 2016 at 4:09 pm

James I will miss Monster Madness. I wish I could do it for you since we are about the same age and I seen a lot of scary movies through out the 70s to now. I am sorta getting into making youtube videos so maybe I could do something for the fans. You could always do 1 a week from the end of Nov thru Oct though. Just about some movies you missed out on. Even if it is new ones of that year that you seen you should talk about them and put them out in October that way people can think Halloween time cause it’s not the whole monster madness I look forward to it’s just the mood setting your reviews on horror movies that I look forward to for October.

  • Paulballsftw

    September 26, 2016 at 4:34 pm

I was hoping you talked about Feast series, Spicies series, or all the Return Of The Living Dead series. I know most weren’t that scary and some were even pervy but I find them classic in their own way. I didn’t even mind the ones that kind of got stupid/funny. There was one Return of the Living Dead where it got naughty I think it was part 3. The woman were like being hot while being dead to lure guys in to eat them. Lol it was kind of fun to watch then just being scary. Ok maybe the movie sucked but still seemed like a classic.

    • Paulballsftw

      September 26, 2016 at 4:35 pm

I ment to say Species not Spicies. haha.

      • bud

        September 26, 2016 at 5:37 pm

Spicies is the racist version of Species. 😉

  • September 26, 2016 at 5:16 pm

Wait theirs going to be no more Monster Madness after this year?! well I guess I understand, now that he has a kid it must be harder to make marathons like this.

  • September 26, 2016 at 8:31 pm

What the fuck, this isn’t James and Mike Mondays

    September 27, 2016 at 7:29 am

    Ohhh .. can’t wait!

  • September 30, 2016 at 12:01 am

Big fan of all the Cinemassacre business. I’m kinda sad that this is the last full one as I look forward to it every year, but I totally get why it’s gotta be this way. I know this one’s gonna let it go out with a bang! (Or a BOOM! Camp Cult was a great year!)

Here’s to some scary stuff from Our Master of Monsters!

  • October 7, 2016 at 3:10 am

I’d like to hope that Monster Madness lives on in one form or another. I’ve looked forward to this every year sense 2009 and tbh the month of Oct is the only month I consistently scour this channel for content. I like James as a person from what little I know of him but Monster Madness is the reason I watch his videos and is my most anticipated past time of the year in terms of watching content online. If Monster Madness were to die out I’d loose a big part of what makes my favorite holiday so great.
