Never even heard of this one. Had no idea that there was another classic NES game with both Mario AND Pauline.

You guys should check out Pinball Arcade, which is virtual recreations of actual classic pinball tables from the 80’s and 90’s (and a few earlier ones). It’s pretty cool and is available for pretty much any platform (digitally. I think PS4 is the only one with a physical version.)

And Mike – you can play Star Trek: The Next Generation on it.

Don’t forget the PC stuff being Future Pinball and Visual Pinball where you can actually create 3D tables and have them do all sorts of stuff (within the limits of VB). Large database of custom content out there as well.

Pinball games can be great fun, I must recomend pinball fantasies for PC if youre into pinball games but dont own a real one. Classic and extremely well made.
May 18, 2016 at 12:59 pm
I agree, I remember playing Pinball Fantasies on SNES, and Pinball Illusions on PC was classic.

Don’t forget things like Future Pinball and Visual Pinball where one can create your own pinball tables.

Pin·Bot is my favorite pinball game on the NES. I also like Pinball Quest, but not nearly as much.

In every video like this, Mike always manages to get pissed and say “oh come onnnn!!!!” or just “come onnnn!!!”, lmao, love these videos!

This title is sooo sexist. Pinball? How ’bout Pinovary for a change?

Such a fun game. Great for 2 players. Used to play it with my brother and sister all the time. As I recall, the flippers disappear at 100,000. Then come back at 150,000. Then after that they alternate on and off as you accumulate points. I don’t remember what you get if you rescue Pauline. I think it was just points, but that’s a really tricky bonus to get. Even if you get her to fall, you still have to catch her, and get her to one of the exits BEFORE the ball leaves the board. Very tricky. Anyway, great game to see again. Really fun if you’ve never played it.

Been a long time since I played it, but I seem to remember there being a multi-ball. Was that from rescuing Pauline?

Cool review! Now if we could just get an evolution of video pinball AVGN episode, we’d be living the dream. Also, to Gorgar’s point, definitely check out Pinball Arcade sometime… they actually have a version of the Star Trek The Next Generation table that you cite as your favourite of all time, Mike. I can only vouch personally for the Android version, but it plays very true to the real thing.
May 19, 2016 at 2:45 pm
How about we make a Pinball Table based on AVGN? Starting virtually, of course, using something like Future Pinball and see if he approves. 😉
May 20, 2016 at 9:40 pm
This Future Pinball you speak of sounds intriguing… I shall have to check it out. And if an AVGN Pinball app were ever to appear, I would definitely buy it, and I don’t think I’m the only one!

How much longer do Us Fans Have to Wait for New Board James Episodes?

I love you guys but you kill me sometimes. Rosalina and your point of refrence is mario kart? Super Mario Galaxy unfamiliar to you?
May 19, 2016 at 8:15 am
Not only that but Mario kart 8… She was in Mario kart wii!

Theater of Magic was one of the best pinball I have ever played. I would love to own one of those.
May 19, 2016 at 2:56 am
Yeah, if it weren’t for the sides being pitfalls I’d probably be at least a casual pinball gamer. As it stands though, I’ve always found it really cheap that the ball could just fall down the side, even if you do really well. I hate cheap stuff like that so for that reason I don’t care that much for pinball.

There is a great pinball game for Megadrive/Genesis called “Devil Crash” in Japan and “Dragon’s Fury” in US/EU, but US/EU version was censored (no authentic pentagrams). It’s a dark fantasy themed game with awesome music (actually, one of the best on Genesis) and tons of creative bonus stages. Highly recommend. Cactus jack pinball was my favorite and the one I remember the most. Funspot in Laconia nh has a probably 30-40 pinball games all for only a quarter.
May 19, 2016 at 12:08 pm
I just checked the manual and the guy in the bonus stage is “Mario” but the name of the woman is unspecified (it’s just “lady”).
May 19, 2016 at 9:54 pm
Get and play Pinball FX2 and Pinball Arcade… They are available on every console/device pretty much…
May 20, 2016 at 12:54 am
That deaf, dumb, and blind kid sure played a mean pinball.
May 21, 2016 at 2:44 am
Hey, can you guys play Pinbot for NES and compare it to this game? I only played Pinbot growing up and thought it was pretty enjoyable pinball game. I found out about this game after getting Pinbot and thought this one looked cheap and like a “ripoff” in comparison.
May 22, 2016 at 9:12 pm
Still have this game for NES,,, But also downloaded it from the Virtual Console on the Wii ,,, so I can save my high scores? … For Those pinball collection games on current gen consoles my favorite has to be Rocky and Bullwinkle

Pinball is a decent common black box title. I’ve been playing a lot of pinbot lately. That’s another video pinball game with good ball physics and early speech in a Nintendo game. You guys should check that one out too.
