I remember playing a bunch of these mods back in college. This one doesn’t look as hard as some of the crazy ones I played. I wish I had them on a cartridge though. Mine were just Roms.

Most of these hacks/homebrews are comedically difficult because they are poorly designed.

It’s kind of like “Atari hard”. Poor design isn’t a good way to add difficulty to a game and is typically not a rewarding experience.

This hack is designed quite well, done so you have to play almost perfectly to get through, it’s difficult but not comedicly, and not glitchy at all, great hack, you just suck

This game just looks kinda tedious and stupid tbh. There’s hard, and there’s making you smash your head against a brick wall.

You guys look like you’re playing really sloppily/making stupid mistakes. An off night, maybe?

Compared to some of the crazy stuff I’ve beat in Mario Maker, it doesn’t seem too bad xD……. But to be fair, the gravity in Smb3 is different.

Speaking of well made hacks, what do you think of the kairos Mario worlds? The gameplay feels flawless as if they’re made by Nintendo

awesome video! love me some Bootsy — this game looks so hard. replaying the same level over and over again has to get tedious. I liked Mike’s suggestion of adding a checkpoint, the original Mario 3 at least had enough power ups, 1ups, and coins to make gaining lives and making it through before a continue.

These homebrews, when done well, are really interesting. I wish we could see more levels of this game.
