No love for Five Guys? The burgers are pretty nice and they give you enough fries to feed an entire family. Good episode

I had Fast food on Atari when I was a kid, but I never understood it, every time I got “You’re getting fatter” message I thought I was doing bad, and every time I’ve got “Burp!” I thought I was doing good lol

The tune from the game you guys are singing is the US military bugle call for chow. Traditionally speaking it is what a bugler would play to signal to servicemen that it is time to eat! Given the context of the game, the fact that they used that is really cool!

The game Food Fight had so much better animation than the film Foodfight!

My fiance is from South Jersey. Pork Roll is totally a regional thing. Like a more obscure scrapple.

Taylor Pork Rolls ARE available in Cali now! A few places have them, including a restaurant chain called Philly’s Best where you can get them in sandwiches.

    And yeah, they’re pretty amazing.

Wasn’t Food Fight in the Jaguar episode as a clip for the 7800?

Part of the love for In-n-out is that it is exceptionally high quality for the price.

I’m on the east coast and I when I went to California I had to try every burger chain down there cause we didn’t have it here. I tried In and Out Burger, Carls Jr. and some Asian burger place. I forget which one I liked the best but I remember the special sauce on the Asian burger was like Sweet and sour sauce mixed with mayo. It tasted different to me but was good. I forget the name of the place was though. I thought they all had better quality then McDonalds or Burger King.

The instant replays in Food Fight are triggered when you have close-calls

  • April 12, 2016 at 12:03 am

FF and FF are both awesome.

Those are not eggplants, they are rotten pickles!

As for Kid Icarus, the reason for the eggplants is because of the translation of the word “Nurse” into Japanese. They pronounce it “NA RU SU”, which is a homonym for an existing word for Eggplant.

So you get turned into a NARUSU and you have to see the NARUSU.

It’s all for a pun that doesn’t translate.

Best burger I ever had was the “Bumblebee Burger” in a restaurant of the same name on the Isle of Wight. I think they changed the name since, can’t find that place anymore.

That was a great Beavis & Butthead impersonation, Mike.
I’m a West Coaster, so I haven’t heard of most of the places you mentioned. My favorite fast food (as a kid…and still as an adult) are those damned Chicken McNuggets. Happy Meal toys will always have a special place in my soul.

As another person said, those are bad/rotten pickles, not eggplants. I remember this from reading the manual when this game out as a friend of mine and I used to play the crap out of this game. Dang, I’m getting old. 😀

Poor James at 3:33 can barely get out “I’ll give it a shot”. Take a vacation, we’ll all still be here when you get back!

I totally agree about In & Out being a really basic burger. It’s just some California circle-jerk… it’s McDonnalds and nothing more.

Great episode again keep up the good work.

On the 2600 ,, I loved Sea Quest,, I always thought it should have got a sequel … Most Atari games are just so much fun trying to beat your high score and then trying to beat that high score on and on it goes

People make a big deal with In-N-Out Burger cause they see it in the movies and they think it’s cool and popular people go there so they go to California and they take pictures and shit and they’re like yeah the best burgers evah brah!!!! Same with pork rolls loll it’s a social thing really

Nice BnB impersonation Mike! You brought me there back in da days haha like Cinemassacre does best!

Another Atari food game that’s pretty funny is Kung Food, a food-based beat-em up on the Atari Lynx.

No love for any midwestern chains?

Whataburger, Steak and Shake, Culvers, Freddies, all these place that make great burgers that you guys haven’t even heard of, let alone tried.

Living in California, I remember Tops having good burgers, and I used to get their boxes of fries all the time. Yes, their french fries came in these big boxes. It was awesome. We’d get their big box of fries and bring it home for the family (5 kids) for a cheap filler when the entree was a little stretched too thin between the kids.
