What I remember most from this game is being able to tear off Donkey Kong Jrs arm. If you get caught up in the chains just right, you can make it happen.

This is one of the oldest Nintendo console games. It was one of three launch titles for the Famicom in 1983. The other two were Donkey Kong and Popeye.

I always sucked at this game.
But played it on an arcade machine, not NES.

You can’t blam Mario for wanting to cage the beast considering the whole Pauline thing.

Why the fuck hasn’t Bootsy played NES Remix on here yet!?
Bootsy is the NES master. He will crush all high scores.

That game was fun and classic. I do think it was really easy since I never owned it but had beat it over my friend who had it’s house. It was too easy but I think it was made for kids since it was a Donkey Kong Jr game. There was a few games for Nintendo that were very easy or very short. I did hate buying a game that I could beat too easy but it is fun to rent games like that. I remember an easy dragon game for the PSone that was really easy. Was a point and click game with dragons in it and I beat it when I rented it and thought well I don’t need to buy it now. Games do need to have more to it or things to make different as you play through it. Like if that game would have a different ending if say you had a different score then having to see multible ending would have made people want to beat it a bunch of times even if it was easy. Some games that do have multible ending are cool but they make them too long to beat so going through again would not be that fun unless die hard fan of the game.

The Game Boy version of Donkey Kong incorporated a lot of elements from this game into it. If you want to play a similar game that’s got a lot more meat to it I recommend that.

Agreed. It takes the original four levels and then tacks on another 96 to make it a proper platformer with puzzle elements… lots of fun.
(And it’s a Super Game Boy enhanced game too, so you get some color to boot.)
People also refer to it as Donkey Kong ’94.

I was barely 5 when SMB3 came out and this game was a fucking journey that takes the better part of the day to go through without flutes. This game has 8 worlds with great variety within those worlds. It have labyrinths, a world of giants, some stage with fishes that gob you in one bite, place where the sun try to kill you. I may not have cared to reach the end but every stage, every enemies and every power up were steps in the adventure. Score was irrelevant.
That the reason I never got interested in arcade style game. Where is the journey?

Just had to sit through an unskippable advert that was over 2 minutes long. I disable my adblock on this site to help support but over 2 minutes is insane.
