Luther The Gond sent me here?
I will forever be haunted by the fact that he reviewed this show on YouTube!
November 23, 2015 at 12:47 pm
Wut? You at least knew of AVGN right? I find it really hard to believe that the most respected and long lasting ‘channels’ of gaming on the internet is just now being discovered by someone.
November 23, 2015 at 1:22 pm
I remember watching him a long time ago on YouTube when people were still leaving negative comments about him not knowing how to land the plane or other stupid stuff. So I did hear of him, and thought he was awesome.
January 18, 2016 at 10:59 pm
I created an account to comment back to this, I am a fairly recent viewer [60 days or so] of AVGN and Cinemassacare.
I really enjoy the productions / videos and of course has cocontributedo the recent beefing up of my retro collection – most of which I sold a teenager for cash for other frivolous things.
Anyway if Mike or James sees this, Kudos and keep up the good work.

November 23, 2015 at 3:08 am
Try Shinobi 3 Genesis . It’s not much of an issue to know how to play it compared to the Ninja Gaiden series .

Week 26 of 52: I would like to request ‘Archon’
It would make a great video 🙂
November 23, 2015 at 3:29 am
I’ll take a look at some point. We’re both fans of chess, so eventually maybe
November 24, 2015 at 3:17 am
Thanks for acknowledging me Mike! It’s been 6 months and a maybe is more than I thought I’d get haha. I honestly think it’s the perfect game for the show, getting to see you and James battle it out would be a blast. Been watching you guys pretty much since the start. Try to keep a lowly super fan in mind and thanks for the laughs!
November 23, 2015 at 5:04 am
Hello, mates. Have you guys heard of Kirby’s Adventure? I cannot quite recall any of you every mentioning it in your videos. This was definitely one of the best NES games I have encountered during my years. Also, you should try giving Kick Master a go – another unappreciated gem. Keep up the great work. Cheers!

Jingle All the Way is one of the greatest Christmas movies ever!
November 23, 2015 at 6:12 am
Watching you guys play video games is great, but listening to your conversations is awesome! Your range of topics is epic. From Dog farts, to cat shits, to the Golden age of television. “James and Mike Mondays” helps me start my week off right! Thanks, guys. By the way, the greatest Christmas movie ever? “Die Hard.” Hands down.

@James and Mike- The primary reason for the excellent graphics in the Donkey Kong Country games was the size of the ROM cartridge (32 Mbit). The SNES was always capable of rendering the graphics but lacked the memory to store all the additional frames of animation and detail, until memory prices dropped which made the larger sizes more available. ROM memory size was the main reason for big price fluctuations in SNES games – RPGs used the most memory hence had higher prices than the average game.

Any chance you two will play some of the Rampage games? I’ve loved them since the original arcade version and it seems like a great fit for you having a co-op game with big monsters in!
November 23, 2015 at 7:57 am
i bet mike knows every secret but isnt going to mention it at all. idk, maybe james prefers not knowing.
November 23, 2015 at 7:59 am
My favorite game on SNES. Remember when Nintendo sent out the promo video for Donkey Kong Country? (I think it was exclusive for Nintendo Power subscribers.) That was fucking awesome! It sold it for me immediately.
November 23, 2015 at 8:04 am
I wonder if I still have that VHS tape? Must be a collector’s item at this point. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stc0RuRv2RA
November 23, 2015 at 8:40 am
Haha I have this VHS tape somewhere
November 23, 2015 at 8:16 am
Know what would be a great set of videos for December? The Super Star Wars games to lead into Episode VII.
November 23, 2015 at 8:43 am
Love this game! They only snes game I have probably beat more times is turtles in time or maybe super Mario kart… But those don’t really count. This game takes skills. Though when you started out on the red light green light you know you can just go left at the beginning and skip the entire level? Also…. Why did you not show the mine kart levels!?
November 23, 2015 at 9:38 am
The greatest Christmas movie of all time is Die Hard. Just saying.
November 23, 2015 at 10:01 am
Great episode guys, very enjoyable. The Rebel Assault mention got me excited. Hope you guys play both of them.
November 23, 2015 at 10:22 am
Monkey cheez. Proof that James can be entertaining without suffering.
November 23, 2015 at 11:01 am
That false ending at King K. Rool totally tricked me when I was a kid. I put the controller down and ended up dying when he woke back up! I learned a lesson there from then on never let go of the controller until I was absolutely sure the boss was defeated!
November 23, 2015 at 11:48 am
Not for nothing, but Algebra is actually a rich subject for discussion, and since you guys are an inspiration for some gamers out there, it might make them consider learning more about math.
The more you know.
November 23, 2015 at 2:36 pm
You think Full house is over shown. Nicktoons shows ninja turtles all the time, and I mean all the time. It’s on 7hrs a day, every day of the week.
November 23, 2015 at 2:56 pm
“we can take turns when we want…” followed by playing through the entire game without mike, lol. good show, thanks again.
November 23, 2015 at 3:35 pm
How could you possibly leave out Mega Man on good water levels? That’s the one series where water actually makes you more awesome.
November 23, 2015 at 4:35 pm
Awwwww! Dog farts are the worst..ha ha. Nice job beating DKC, you got mad skills bro.
November 23, 2015 at 7:03 pm
4:10 It’s the giant claw!
November 23, 2015 at 7:52 pm
Nice JM Monday. Played the crap out of this when I was a kid. You’ve encouraged me to finally make the purchase and buy it again!
November 23, 2015 at 10:38 pm
Guys just FYI. Monkeys have tails Apes do not. So a Chimp, a Gorilla, a Orangutan are all apes. Monkeys like the spider monkey and the monkey those guys had with the music box are monkeys cause they have tails. That is the difference.
November 23, 2015 at 10:41 pm
We have this little Bug Dog a Boston Terrier mixed with a Pug and it farted and my GF bent over and wofted the fart up to her face to smell it. FYI are dog loves my GF and my GF loves our dog they have the strongest bond I have seen of any human and dog. I am a dog person and have had a lot of dogs some with very strong bonds with me but this is the strongest I have seen. Anyway the bond was so strong she smelt the dogs farts.
November 24, 2015 at 12:16 am
LMAO! Great fucking video guys. SBD..SBD & MAYA THE FUCKING BEE i love these guys.
November 24, 2015 at 1:48 am
Registered just to say that, Mike, you really should fuck off you’re not letting James speak and you are fucking annoying stfu im 4 minutes in the video and already pissed this shit is like 20% james 80% you speaking nice fucking editing dude
November 24, 2015 at 6:23 pm
Yeah occasionally Mike will start talking a bit before James has finished, but it’s not that often and it’s not as bad as you make it sound like. Also you’re completely wrong, the speaking time between James and Mike is pretty equal in this video.
November 24, 2015 at 6:34 am
Great, one of my all time favorite video game tracks reminds me about dog farts from now on.
November 24, 2015 at 12:21 pm
What’s the difference between monkey and ape? The easiest way to say it is, monkeys have tails, apes do not. So, he’s an ape =)
November 24, 2015 at 3:56 pm
I had the genisis when i was a kid. Not that I don’t love my sega. But man ii wish I had an snes. If anyone has one they are willing to part with reply to this comment and we can figure something out
November 24, 2015 at 4:03 pm
Have you guys played Ecco the Dolphin yet on this series? would be fun! xo
November 24, 2015 at 7:03 pm
You guys definitely shoud play Tropical Freeze too, it’s really nota Return remake. And David Wise mad the music, the guy who composed the original DkC music and it’s fantastic!!
November 24, 2015 at 7:04 pm
Also, I think Castlevania 2 Simon’s Quest is excellent. It’s just those cryptic things that kinda ruin it.
November 24, 2015 at 11:48 pm
i was playing Donkey Kong Country just today, i just beat the snow level YEAH!!!! good video
November 25, 2015 at 8:12 pm
Actually, it was pronounced Poke-Eh-Mon on the television series I THINK. In the end though, I remember playing this game and I could never really get into it. Good game though, just not my thing. As for discovering “the nerd”, I saw him on youtube way back when as the Angry Nintendo Nerd and I thought he was a blast. I’d like to see them do Comix Zone though. Man is that game BAD! I also wanted to say that it was James and Mike that ultimately convinced me to buy a Wii-U, so thanks guys. I was utterly MISERABLE with my PS4.
November 28, 2015 at 10:35 pm
I hope if you have the ability to play “Stunt Racer F/X”. I still have a callus on my thumb from playing it almost 20 years ago! I bought a turbo controller in order to open up the other vehicles…
Thank you so much for playing this! What a great tip down memory lane. Everyone deserves a refresh of this game!
November 28, 2015 at 10:45 pm
Mike is wrong about Donkey Kong never being on a console. It was licensed to Coleco Vision and produced, I have it myself.
December 2, 2015 at 3:03 pm
Thanks for telling us about your history with Castlevania 2!
I was always fond of it simply due to the progressional gameplay.
December 4, 2015 at 10:04 am
This is also one of my favorite SNES games. You should play DK Country 2 next.
December 10, 2015 at 4:46 pm
Its “K.ROOL”. As in cruel.. 😉 and yeah… that fuckin “Tanked up Trouble”-stage. Most difficult stage in the game by far. I always dread it when I go through this game. The timing required, the skills… I did a lets play on youtube some time ago with a buddy of mine and we got so stuck on that stage for a long time, I wondered how I could’ve beaten it when I was like eleven. ^^
December 15, 2015 at 7:22 am
Couldn’t have said it better myself! It’s really cool to see you guys playing a game you’re really good at and enjoy! The topics of conversation are always entertaining!
January 2, 2016 at 12:58 am
When speaking about the “Turtles” water level, did you mean to say it’s unnecessarily hard, because after my initial failures. I’ve never found it that difficult…
January 2, 2016 at 1:58 am
(16:50) – Yes, although that’s true, dogs only lick their buttholes to clean themselves and not get shit on your stuff. But you’d be surprised how many people you know, or just in general, touch their buttholes, or worse their genitals, and want to shake your hand and/or want to touch your stuff…
January 2, 2016 at 2:08 am
(17:55) Wait, wait, wait… James, you can smell the morning sunshine?
May 15, 2016 at 7:01 pm
Put the cookie down NOW!!!!
September 24, 2016 at 1:03 am
I had a Genesis and Donkey Kong Country was the game that made me want an SNES! When I saw it, it was mind-blowing. The graphics, sound, things you could do. I remember this game being hard, though. Looks like I was right!
