  • October 31, 2015 at 3:15 am

sour sweet winds “Dr Seuss – Halloween is Grinch Night”

  • October 31, 2015 at 3:21 am

My Wii U And 3Ds have broke down tonight so on Halloween I have to buy A fucking GodDamn New Wii U and 3Ds and the thing that piss me off even more is that my Save Data in my Super Mario Maker Game along with the skinny mushroom Gone just FUCKING Gone like shit it’s bolshit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • October 31, 2015 at 4:34 am

just a suggestion but if i was you man i would just wait for the nx to come out it will probably hit next year and who knows it just might be backwards compatible i mean i have a wii u and all i even got it on launch day and if i could go back in time i would have defiantly waited just because the wii u is already almost opsolite and when the nx does come out i garentee they will have a nx and a wii u version of the same game and the nx will be the better version like zelda i really think thats why they pushed back the release date so they could put it on both at least that would be the logical marketing choice expecially being zelda and all don’t get me wrong i like the games but i almost feel cheated for the wii u’s cycle for being soo short i also think that it will be in the same price range as a ps4 or xb1 and rumor has it from gametrailers.com that its saposed to have the top of the line chips my guess for that would be processer and graphics chip and may even surpass the ps4 and xb1 which would be a good move seems how they really screwed up with their console specs and most gaming companies won’t touch it because of the out of date hardware which means the gaming companies have to water down their product witch is something they don’t wanna do because thats not how they invisioned it i could go on and on lol but its just a suggestion

    • October 31, 2015 at 6:29 am

That’s really unlucky that BOTH broke down the same day. That sucks.

At least with Mario Maker you can re-download all the levels you made and uploaded. As for re-unlocking everything, it’s not really that hard and doesn’t take long to do.

Loved the video as always…but a little bummed to be honest. was hyping myself up thinking about what movie James was saving for the big day. Don’t get me wrong. I MAKE time to hear what James has to say about anything….but I was hoping for a big(ish) finally, ending the 9th MM with a movie. Like what he did with Night of the Living Dead.

      October 31, 2015 at 5:00 am

I love watching these guys talk about anything, some of my favorite videos are when james talks about what he loves there is so much passion in him its amazing.

    • bud

      October 31, 2015 at 5:35 am

It’s ending with a AVGN episode and a Board James episode. Can’t think of anything greater than that.

  • Chives

    October 31, 2015 at 3:37 am

Loved the video! Although James, you really should do some more research on Guy Fawkes! You were a bit off the mark about him haha.

Well Done Genterlmen. I assume this is the last video for this year’s MM. Great job fellas. For next year another 80’s athon would be awesome or even a 90’s Athon, even though 90’s movies seemed to generally be worse then 80’s but yea. Sequel a thon, 80’s athon were my fav ones and this year was pretty awesome too. Thanks so much for everything you guys do.

Thank you guys so much for doing these videos for all these years! monster Madness has pulled me through some of the hardest times in my life and helped me celebrate some of the best. Cheers to all your hard work, the love and passion shines through and is very contagious!!

i like watching monster madness during halloween and giving kids habanero beef sticks for trick or treat.

  • October 31, 2015 at 4:16 am

About the ‘special’ scent during fall Mike mentioned:
I live in South-Germany and think every season over here has it´s own scent in the beginning. It fades or maybe I get adapted to it somehow, but it´s there, no doubt. Many people around here agreed about the existence of the seasonal scent.
Ah, great finale by the way, I enjoyed it!

  • October 31, 2015 at 4:17 am

Guy Fawkes (f-awe-cse) tried to destroy the english parliament in 1605 after they were unfair to the catholics i the country with uneven laws. This was on November 5th and Britian still celebrates it today with bonfires and fireworks. I guess you guys aren’t really told about it in the US haha

    • The Wicker Man

      October 31, 2015 at 4:44 am

I was just about to mention this but then I saw your post.
“Remember remember the fifth of November
      Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder, treason
      Should ever be forgot.”

  • October 31, 2015 at 4:46 am

I enjoy the same stuff about the season as you guys. And thanks for making Monster Madness one more thing to majorly look forward to! Hey, does anyone know if brick and mortar stores still carry those Beistle Die Cuts?

    October 31, 2015 at 4:57 am

Thank you guys. Was another spooktacular year, loved every minute of each video. You guys do what you think is best and the true fans will still watch. Fuck the haters.

  • bud

    October 31, 2015 at 5:32 am

Good wrap-up, guys. You do a great service for us horror fans. You’re right, not many people take time to enjoy the classics. I’m the same as you, James; no one else understood my interest as a kid either.

I appreciate you taking 10 months out of the year to plan out and do these videos, especially now that you have other obligations. And I enjoy the unscripted videos as much as the scripted ones.

I really enjoyed Monster Madness this year. And now I’m depressed it’s all over again. Hope you two have a great Halloween. Can’t wait for the new Board James!

  • TheGreenPipe

    October 31, 2015 at 6:16 am

After giving every video this year a chance, please allow me to state that the Monster Madness videos with only James are so much more indicative of the talent within him. I’m not sure if this comment will be allowed to go up, but when I watch the videos where James is able to stay focused and doesn’t have to acquiesce with Mike, his true voice, vision and knowledge truly comes through.

I have no doubt that Mike is one of his best friends and has helped him out a lot, but the simple truth is that most people come here to listen and watch James. I’m sure that say James Hetfield of Metallica has a lot of talented, close friends and people who have helped him along the way. Does a majority of his audience want to start having those friends sing half the words of a growing number of new Metallica songs?

For me, it isn’t that Mike doesn’t have a place on the website. It’s just the reality that James is the more talented, personable, and knowledgeable one. It comes across more and more like letting someone’s little brother not only play on your basketball team, but then they start shooting the ball more than the older, talented brother at times.

I’m aware James might not see it this way, and that is fine. I can respect that. But he also needs to respect the fact that a growing number of his fans aren’t nearly as big a fan of Mike and aren’t his best friend, so while increasing the number of videos with him is fine with James, others aren’t nearly as thrilled.

    October 31, 2015 at 6:26 am

dude.. Guy Fawkes (sounds like fox with a w) the guy the V for Vendetta main character was paying tribute to. “Remember, remember the 5th of November.” But I do think you’re on to something with the theory of mischief night.

  • October 31, 2015 at 7:16 am

Thanks for yet another awesome year of Monster Madness. It’s the highlight of October/Halloween for me.

  • October 31, 2015 at 7:38 am

You guys should go to Cayo Industrial (horror exhibit) in Utica, New York!! It’s apparently SUPER famously fucked up and scary XD

  • October 31, 2015 at 7:41 am

Hey thank you so much. I like your Halloween special monster madness. I am watching it every year. I didn’t know you are putting so much effort in it. And I realy realy love it. But please make it skripted and more avgn videos. I love the avgn videos with the chesy effekts like bevor 2010.

You could make more unscripted videos and talk about stuff. But then make it a hour long or so. Like the gameplays of Mike on Cinemassacre Extras.

  • October 31, 2015 at 7:41 am

Happy Halloween James and mike and thanks for doing Monster Madness. This years Monster Madness was certainly interesting. There was a few I couldn’t predict. I hope you can do Monster Madness next year. If you can’t because of your personal life, I understand. Just out of curiosity, is there going to be a Monster Madness 2016 suggestions blog post? Where we can put our suggestions for what we want to see in next years Monster Madness?

  • Fred Fuchs

    October 31, 2015 at 7:44 am

It’s weird to me that Americans don’t know about Guy Fawkes. Huh.

Anyway it’s pronounced kinda like “Forks”.

  • October 31, 2015 at 7:56 am

What a disappointing MM this year.

  • GoldenTurtle

    October 31, 2015 at 8:16 am

I would listen to a Cinemassacre Podcast

  • October 31, 2015 at 8:22 am

James, you should most definitely do a horror host show on Cinemassacre. I would most definitely watch it. And if you could get it on TV that would even be more awesome. I’ll definitely be looking out for Svengoolie on Me TV. 🙂

    October 31, 2015 at 8:55 am

I think i never felt the real spirit of halloween because i’am into black and death metal since i’am a pre-teen. So all this normal stuff people are scared of or feel uncomfortable once a year are for me pretty normal. I like the atmospher
e of october…but c’mon i’am also into occultism and somehow you can just laugh if people trying to be “dark” and “moody” when you know the real deal…

    • Midnite Marauder

      October 31, 2015 at 7:26 pm

You mean act Goth or repressed? Well, the Goth ones just trying to be different, but the repressed ones just need to be kicked in the ass or sent to a shrink. Like those little Slenderpunk girls who went all Michael Myers and tried to sacrifice their fellow classmate?? That was some weird form of occultism or stupidity, no? Perhaps the latter, if you just refer strictly to their age group. Still, being “dark” or “moody” isn’t necessarily a joke, especially when it’s not some obvious gag. Some of the things that occur in real life end up scarier than what’s sometimes created out of fiction; wouldn’t you agree?

  • Gorgar

    October 31, 2015 at 9:12 am

No Lugosi, Karloff, or Chaney Jr. movies? I am really disappointed in that, but otherwise you did a great job as always. Maybe next year you could finally get to Spider Baby

  • juggernautakira

    October 31, 2015 at 9:24 am

What a cop out. Thanks for a lazy year guys. Thanks a lot. Jesus, if youre going to be doing unscripted vids, do LESS of them, rewatch the movies youre going to discuss (The Descent), and most of all, do NOT skip the actual day to talk about the day. Thats not what brought us here and I am sure, a lot of people are coming here and getting disappointed all day today.

    • STeVo808

      October 31, 2015 at 9:28 am

I have to agree on this. I thought today was a really big review coming.

      • meinerHeld

        October 31, 2015 at 5:34 pm

Wha? He still did a ton of movie reviews, he even got AVGN and BJ in on the action…what more could a guy ask for? Maybe the big bang is kind of a rhythm you (and I) are in for…let’s wait for the Board James episode!

  • STeVo808

    October 31, 2015 at 9:26 am

While I do like these unscripted videos, I think for a movie review a scripted one works a bit better.

  • Erwinator

    October 31, 2015 at 9:41 am

Unfortunately, it’s not celebrated here. I even think, they even don’t want to celebrate it. They’d think it’s against the rules of the church and that kids shouldn’t get this ”bad’influence.

Although, in the village of my parents and where I lived for like 18 years, they know it. It’s not a tradition, but some clubs organise something like a ghost tour. 😀

  • Antony Pols

    October 31, 2015 at 9:48 am

    Hi James!

    Thanks again for everything!
And you’re probably not going to read this.

But how about you give out a list of 30/31 movies a few weeks prior to October.
And for each and every movie you make an old school intro and afterword, in character.
So people can procure the movies themselves before MM starts and can watch you introduce a certain movie.
People then pop in and watch the movie, then come back to you for an afterword about the movie.

This might be too much of a “hassle” for some people, but I think many will love having you as a “live” host for their evenings entrainment.

  • Erwinator

    October 31, 2015 at 9:55 am

But St.martin on 11 november looks a bit like Halloween sometimes.

Kids will ask for candies and people make Jack o’-lanterns from sugar beets.
There’s some hugh fire too ( a hugh wooden horse will be burnt) after walking with torches through the village.

    • Antony Pols

      October 31, 2015 at 10:11 am

I never snapte why Halloween never caught on outside of the U.S.A. Compared to Halloween, St.Maarten is just.. lame. No costume, but a custom built lantern. Although stores are starting to sell more and more Halloween stuff each year, and I’m seeing an increase in Halloween-parties, so who knows.. maybe in 5 years or so. Alas I’m too old to go “snoep of je leven”..

      • Erwinator

        October 31, 2015 at 10:55 am

Yes , read that on the news.

  • Fred . Fuchs

    October 31, 2015 at 10:07 am

That book looks fantastic. Did you write the reviews by yourself after watching the movies or did you do research?

  • October 31, 2015 at 10:17 am

Listening to Americans explain Guy Fawkes (or “Fowkes”) night is pretty funny for a British person

  • Luke Elliott

    October 31, 2015 at 10:23 am

Great show, hope you have a ghoulish, droolish and foolish Halloween! BTW I do believe that “October smell” you were referring to is the smell of dead leaves. I love that smell so much sometimes I keep some dead leaves for the non-fall months just to remind me.

  • Weldin Dunn

    October 31, 2015 at 10:54 am

Yeah. I’m still young, so I trick or treated just 2 years ago, and recently, there haven’t been any laws about going out late. We still get kids really late. Guy Fawkes is known as the guy who blew up parliament (and the star of “V for Vendetta”), but all he did was guard the dynamite.

    • The Wicker Man

      October 31, 2015 at 1:09 pm

Attempted to blow up Parliament, he didn’t succeed.

Hard to believe October’s almost over already. Thanks for another great month! Happy Halloween to all!!

  • October 31, 2015 at 11:22 am

As someone who has live on both coasts that fall scent is only on the East Coast. When I moved back I forgot how much I loved it.

    • ToadRoad

      October 31, 2015 at 6:02 pm

Agreed. I’m on the West coast right now and I was sweating all October. I miss the fall scent and crisp cool air.

  • October 31, 2015 at 11:33 am

Thanks for your hard work and don’t get too hard on yourselves if you have to cut down on some years to come. Just some ideas for future installments.

    The Thing (1982)
Perfect Blue and other foreign movies
    and horror videogames too perhaps?

    anyway happy halloween dudes

  • October 31, 2015 at 11:34 am

and oh I’m also with you on the fall season, I’ve lived on the east coast most of my life, I know that cool feeling that comes.

  • October 31, 2015 at 11:34 am

Happy Halloween James and Mike 🙂

  • Digity

    October 31, 2015 at 11:42 am

    Only 11 months to go.

  • October 31, 2015 at 11:53 am

Nice finale! Cool to hear you talk about all this. Thank you so much for another great year of Monster Madness, James and Mike! I love the movie reviews but I really enjoyed the non scripted videos as well and I understand that these are far less work. They still put me in the right mood for Halloween, something for which I really love MM. I can’t say enough how much I appreciate this.

I love Halloween so much but where I am from and where I live it is really rather small. These videos have become such a big tradition for me and they help me celebrate the season the way I feel it deserves. I have learned about so many great and shitty movies through this and MM continues to inspire me to pick up Horror movies and do something halloween-ish in general.

I know that it is a huge amount of work and I will understand if you have to reduce the number of videos or anything: as long as you keep this tradition going in some form I am fine and from what you said in this video you definitely will! I appreciate this very much.

James and Mike: Monster Madness is what rekindled in me the joy and excitement of Halloween. Sincerely, I can’t think of any other gift like that. Being opened to new ways of experiencing wonder and a dark world of imagination. Every year is like returning to a long lost friend–one that I had almost completely forgotten; thank you for reconnecting me with that errant memory and reminding me the meaning of Halloween. My best wishes– Grant. Hope the night is killer to you both…

Thanks a lot guy for all these Halloween Treat!
I liked a lot these review of you and Mike together unscripted!
Also…WOW! AVGN video and a Board James! Nice!

  • October 31, 2015 at 12:39 pm

This was so great. Maybe one idea for next year is to tell more stories of your favorite Halloween memories. I’m big on the nostalgia stuff and really liked the story of the old lady, trick or treating, etc. You could also combine James and Mike mondays playing creepy games to help cut back the workload 😉

  • October 31, 2015 at 12:46 pm

Its a shame, Halloween isnt what it used to be. At least where I live.
WHen I was young, you would see tons of kids out trick and treating. Partys, houses decorated, etc. The past 10 years, I had MAYBE a total of 15 kids come by the house for candy.
I am the only house on my street to even decorate at all for Halloween. Shame.

  • October 31, 2015 at 12:54 pm

They played the 1931 Dracula at the theater by my house this year.

  • October 31, 2015 at 1:22 pm

yay! After I go trick or treating, I can get home and watch Board James! WOO HOO!!

  • JayRam

    October 31, 2015 at 1:34 pm

James, I have to tell you, I started coming to this site 6 years ago, in 2009, and Monster Madness is what got me back into the spirit of Halloween: the month of October, and the fall season in general, are now my favorite time of the year. And, even though I was interested in movies for years before coming to this site, Monster Madness is what really got me watching not just classic monster movies, but old movies too. So, not to get too sentimental, but I appreciate all that you and Mike do throughout the year.

The idea of Dr. Rolfenstein and his lab assistant hosting a movie marathon is too awesome not to exist. Hope you guys find a way to make it happen.

    Happy Halloween!

  • October 31, 2015 at 1:54 pm

    Happy Halloween everyone!
(sigh) another Monster Madness come and gone, time to start the twelve month countdown.

  • Itai Lev

    October 31, 2015 at 3:30 pm

Thanks so much guys. I really appreciate how much work goes into Monster Madness. It makes the season so much more special. You guys are legends.

As for fan input on the future, I really enjoyed these unscripted videos with broader topics. As long as we still get a traditional video here and there, it’s all good. Have a Happy Halloween, and make sure to be by your TV set during the Horror-thon for the big giveaway. And don’t forget to where your masks.

Also I know some might criticize you guys for making this video. I thought it was the most interesting video especially for the last video of any Monster Madness. Everyone celebrates Halloween differently which your video proves. A lot of interesting stories & great jokes.

  • MrBrrumpkins

    October 31, 2015 at 5:16 pm

I was one that didn’t enjoy the unscripted videos as much, but I know they give you a break. I would rather have quality over quantity. You should see what the fans advise for it and what you guys agree on. If less videos equal better scripted reviews, then I’d say do less. Just see how the days fall in October and release them. I had no problem with 80’s-a-thon being every other day because they were awesome. You could release three videos in a row at the beginning and the end and just let us know how you plan on releasing them in between the month. Like this year, you had 20 scripted versus 11 unscripted. I mean, 20 is fine and those 11 could just be bonuses for us and here we are complaining up the asses. So, maybe you can get a consensus and agree with the fans. I think we are spoiled with the everyday stuff, so I think it would be fine to lighten the load and make that a tradition. I have two kids and my daughter’s birthday is Halloween so I feel ya about time and stuff. Thanks.

What à month this was great no déception of youre choice this year. Too bad it,s over already thanks guys and long live monster madness.See you next year.

  • October 31, 2015 at 6:03 pm

Just started watching House on Haunted Hill, and will try some more old gems tonight that you guys pointed out this year.
I don’t really leave comments in general, but had to thank you for this years Monster Madness, Cinemassacre has since the start been thé channel for me and James’ way of making videos and explaining everything he does spoke to me, made me curious for film making and recently when I was without internet for a months, the only thing I cared for almost everyday was being afraid of missing any Cinemassacre videos.

I live in the Netherlands, and we do have something called ‘Carnaval’ (not the same as Brazil has) at the end of February where there’s like a week of people dressing up and going out having a good time, no real theme to it. Since a couple of years Halloween is being more and more frequently celebrated here.
I can imagine how Halloween is the only time of the year where Americans can dress up anyway they like, so they won’t always wear scary costumes and let’s be honest there’s some teens that don’t really wear anything as costume (so as an excuse they say yea i’m dressed up).
Since they already got that one dress up time in my country, I believe more people (percentage of the people who do celebrate) will actually dress up as something spooky.
Sorry for this long post, tried to explain a little but my english isn’t that great.

    Thanks James and Mike
    p.s. Mike you’re the man.

James… how the FUCK do you not know about Guy Fawkes!?! Bonfire night?
He tried to blow up the British parliament?
V for Vendetta was based on him?
Remember, remember the 5th of November?

Its interesting hearing you talk about “Mischief Night”. I’m in Canada, but i’m right across the river from Detroit, Michigan, and here it is known as “DEVIL’S NIGHT”. It was hardcore destructive in the 60-80’s, but has been toned down since the 90’s.

Just finished the video. I hope you guys realize how much we fans appreciate the efforts you put in! This really has become a halloween tradition, like watching “THE GREAT PUMPKIN” or putting on John Carpenter’s classic movie. You guys are a part of SO many people’s halloween experiences, now! Thank you SO much!!

One of my traditions too! Keep it going.

I would watch the hell out of a Joe Bob Briggs style Monster Madness hosted by a Dr. Rolfenstein and Mike-Igor! Even if they were public domain movies, I still think that would be really fun to watch.

Again, just want to say thanks to James and Mike for all the entertainment and trips down memory lane.

Wow, great memory there with the line from Ghost Busters 😀

  • October 31, 2015 at 11:19 pm

Let’s just hope Mike won’t be in Monster Madness next year. This year was 29 days of Halloween Monster Madness. Because 1 was with Mike What is horror. I preferred seeing clips of a movie not them talking to each other about it .

This year just like the rest was phenomenal. Thank you James and Mike for another insightful, entertaining Monster Madness that’s been a ritual for me for years now. James has been a huge influence on me with film, and it was great hearing a bit of behind the scenes. I just like probably everyone here will keep coming back as long as you guys put them out. Thanks again, and Happy Halloween.

Now James, I already told you this on a video a while back but hopefully you can do a theme next year like the old days. I was thinking foreign horror movies. I’m not sure if you’ll totally be into it or like the theme but that’s what I was thinking about because there is still tons of material you can work with.

  • November 1, 2015 at 1:54 pm

God damn I love James and his work.

I went to see the old Frankenstein movies at the theater with my wife. We were the only ones. Wouldn’t have happened if not for 12 year old James Rolfe 20 years ago and his dreams of spreading the love for these old horror movies.

I don’t think I would dislike the unscripted ones if you would at least add the clips in that relate to what you’re talking about. It seems like you did the script-less ones for new movies, so maybe it’s a copyright thing.

  • November 1, 2015 at 5:00 pm

Thank you for all the great videos! I’m sad October is over. This Halloween me and my sister had a video game party. Luckily she has saved all our games and consoles from our childhood. We celebrate Halloween every year, but it’s not a thing in our country. We were surprised when some trick or treaters came last night. So it is getting bigger even in here. Anyway, wanted to say, “you are my number one guy” (well, guys). Greetings from Finland.

Another Halloween done and dusted, another great Monster Madness. I’m not overly keen on the James and Mike combo on specific films, because putting two different people’s reviews into one makes it a little disjointed, but the inclusion of Mike on these topical discussions was absolute gold and I wouldn’t mind seeing more of them. When they talk about an open theme (instead of voicing personal opinions on an unchanging film) they bounce ideas off of each other very well, and dust off the cobwebs from some priceless memories. It was highly entertaining and something that I hope they continue in the future.

Oh, and on the topic of pressure, maintaining quality, and time constraints, in the UK we had a comedy double act called Morecambe and Wise. They would do a Christmas special every year, and it became so big that some people would judge how good their Christmas was based on the quality of the special. One year, the pressure of expectation drove them to cancel doing their regular series and they focused solely on putting out just that one Christmas show.

Mike always seems to cut off James or go on tangents about things that don’t always correlate with what James has just said. Sometimes I feel like Mike just likes to hear himself talk, which is really too bad since I like Mike. Cutting your friends of when they’re talking and disregarding what they just said or making the conversation about you just isn’t okay, though. I can feel the tension and see James’ body language and it just makes these videos unwatchable for me. Keep up the good work to both of you guys, but seeing your interactions candidly is just too tough to watch.

  • November 2, 2015 at 4:19 am

Guy Fawkes was an english catholic rebel who tried to assassinate the protestant king in the 1600s in a bid to restore catholic rule. The attempt involved stockpiling a huge amount of gunpowder under the house of lords which is part of the english system of parliment. It’s known in england as the gunpowder plot, the gunpowder plot was foiled and Fawkes and his co-conspirators was executed (i think they were supposed to be hung drawn and quartered which is an extremely gruesome method of execution). In England every year on Guy Fawkes night bonfires are built in towns and villages and an effigy of Guy Fawkes (usually made of straw) is burned. It’s a weird folk ritual that has survived in spite of it’s heavy patriotic subtext. Also it’s pronounced kinda like ‘Forks’.

Great video guys, and though I highly doubt you’ll see this I figure I’d say it anyway. Although this video is great, it actually depresses me quite a bit. I was born and raised in Massachusetts. Right now, I’m living in AZ due to forces beyond my control. Fall and Halloween time has always meant so much to me. Living here, it means nothing. 90+ degree Halloween days, kids don’t trick or treat, no one decorates. You wouldn’t even know the holidays were coming if you didn’t step into a store and see all the decorations they sell. Hearing you guys talk about the cool air, the change of seasons, etc. has made me so homesick. Guys, CHERISH the fact that you still live in the East Coast. I’m hoping so much to be home within the next year to be able to enjoy it again.

Guy Fawkes was an Anarchist. Meaning he believed in a world without governments, states or authority. The movement gathers momentum every time there is a financial depression. Anarchists understand the control system of fractional reserve banking and what they would describe as the facade of politics and social control of laws. On Guy Fawkes day people would run around and attack the financial and political establishment to destabilize it.

The establishment saved themselves from the damage of Guy Fawkes day by changing the culture around it with Halloween, mostly a bastardization of the Western European Pagan holiday of old Hallows eve… That’s why you described the night as people doing ‘bad’ things. We have been taught than anarchists are evil or terrorists. Nobody was ever hurt on Guy Fawkes night. unless they were maybe a policeman defending a bank.

The the pictures of the Rosanne house and the other locations the the places on the the show are in Evansville, Indiana. In the off chance you are in the area, check it out. There is a cool haunted house worth checking out. You start out in the old courthouse, then you go through a tunnel and go through the jail across the street. The best Halloween store that I have ever been to is in Evansville. It is called the nick knackery. They even have scary scenes set up. I also have to mention the herse sitting out front.

Guy Fawkes (pronounced Forks) has nothing to do with Halloween at all.

He was the one responsible for placing the gun power under The House Of Lords in a failed attempt to kill King James I. After an anonymous tip off, the police found Guy Fawkes at Westminster Palace guarding the gun powder on Nov 5th.

Guy Fawkes was sentenced to be hanged, but actually fell of the scaffolding constructed for his hanging and broke his neck.

Bonfire Night (Nov 5th) is when his failure to kill the King is celebrated an on going tradition since 1605.

James please do a review of the movie eight legged freaks. It’s very much a tribute to 50s monster movies. But it’s quite a mixed bag . I’d love to know your opinion on it. Hope you see this, huge fan.

Here in Brasil theres no such thing as haloween or Night of the dead, but I can imagine how good must feel for a kid play and receive candy from the neighbors. In Brasil we have Carnaval, but is more of an adult thing, too much booze, too much ass, it lost its innocence, and thats always a bad thing. And now with this focking “Carioca funk”, pornography is finding its way to the kids, we see 12 year old girls shaking their non existing asses lake drunk whores, its disgusting. But there also good parties, we just have to use the commom sense. But My favorite party is “Quermesse”, in July when its cold, the Catolic churches make a fanfair in their car lot park, lots of food, mini pizza, hot dog, cotton candy, barbecue, wine, and “Sertanejo” wich is a typical music from São Paulo, its a lot of fun, and no porn. Cheers dudes, happy halloween

I’m from a country where Halloween doesn’t really exist, they just have some small, cheap items and that’s it. No trick or treating, barely any costumes, nobody decorates, no horror movies on tv, nothing of it.

I suspect the smell you’re talking about is the smell of either deciduous trees in the process of losing their leaves or early-stage decomposition of fallen leaves.

Are there any fans who’ve lived in both deciduous-only (maple, oak, beech, etc.) and coniferous-only (pine, spruce, fir, etc.) forested areas who can give an answer on this?
