Never would’ve thought you guys would talk about this movie
October 13, 2015 at 6:22 am
October 13, 2015 at 12:04 pm
I wonder if they’ll ever talk about Salò, it’s some fucked up movie.
October 13, 2015 at 6:15 pm
Salo is interesting indeed, since it was director Pier Paolo Pasolini’s last film.
October 14, 2015 at 2:45 am
Jesus christ i just read the story of that and movie and god damn thats a fucked up movie
September 23, 2016 at 4:36 pm
A movie that i found very disturbing in this sick way was “The Experiment”. It really creeped me out, mostly because it talks about a true experimentmade in….fuck! Do I have to tell you everything? Go search it!
October 13, 2015 at 3:18 am
Man, this movie was completely weird lol. Very entertaining to hear you guys talk about it. lol
October 13, 2015 at 1:08 pm
This kind of movie is trash. It’s not horror, it’s not scary, it’s gore porn and completely worthless.
October 13, 2015 at 3:36 pm
But there’s really almost no actual gore in it, homie. Hostel is more in line with what you’re trying to describe. This isn’t like that.
October 13, 2015 at 3:21 am
You were right about the WWII medical torture part, James. “Inspiration for the film also came from Nazi medical experiments carried out during World War II, such as the crimes of Josef Mengele at the Auschwitz concentration camp.”
October 13, 2015 at 4:30 am
Mengele was one sick mother fucker for sure. Its scary how often horror movies are inspired by true events.
October 13, 2015 at 3:49 am
Glad you guys liked it! I think I will go to my grave defending this movie’s quality (and thinking the sequel is one of the worst films in movie history). I am glad you brought up Saw too because this has the same quality of making you think something much more disgusting is happening than what you are really seeing. It is refreshing to see a horror movie where the villain doctor character isn’t slick and crafty….he clearly shows he’s messed up even in front of the police.
October 22, 2015 at 5:18 pm
As the sequel? So you haven’t sen the third movie where they stitch together 500 people? I have heard it’s bad, but I don’t really want to see any of the movies.
October 13, 2015 at 3:52 am
james you should do mostly the other type of review, with the videos and commentary, these little social things with mike is ok, just not as powerful when explaining a movie.
October 13, 2015 at 4:00 am
James, listen to me bro, do not watch the sequel. It’s so fucked up it will deeply disturb you. I bought it when it came out, and after watching it I broke the disc in half and threw it in the garbage. It is fucker up beyond any thing I can say or comment on. They do the most foul thing you can do in a movie; please prepare yourself: they kill a fucking baby when the mother drops the baby under the gas pedal when the mother slams on the gas to try to get away from the “Doctor wannabe”. It’s so foul it left a taste in my mouth that will never go away. For that reason among a few others I highly suggest you don’t watch the sequel. I would be on board with banning this movie. I am one of the biggest horror movie fans in the world along with you, Mike, and many of your Monster Madness fans. but this one should not exist.
Whew! Glad I got that off of my chest. Bring on the trolls.
October 13, 2015 at 4:01 am
October 13, 2015 at 5:59 am
No trolling from me. I agree with you. I absolutely can’t stand when babies or pregnant women are hurt in movies (along with children and pets..weird, I know). I’m empathetic to a fault.
October 13, 2015 at 1:58 pm
Completely agree, my friend.
October 13, 2015 at 4:15 am
Its a good movie, but I don’t know if I’d compare it to the leatherface, freddy krueger category. Those movies weren’t considered the most shocking or horrific movies even back then. The last house on the left and I spit on your grave are from those days too and definitely take it up a notch. I’d put this more in that category.
October 13, 2015 at 4:31 am
There are times when, even as an artist myself,I think certain lines can be crossed. Being disgusting, or shocking, or disturbing, just for the same of doing so, to me, is not “art”. And this kind of crap, to me, shouldn’t even see the light of day. And the fact that some people find crap like this entertaining…..to me THAT is the most disturbing.
Just my opinion though…….
October 13, 2015 at 5:07 am
this movie was too much for me. too disturbing to be entertaining. I just have to imagine how fucked up someone must be to think this up and then go through the production of a movie to bring it to life.
October 13, 2015 at 5:36 am
Human centipede was far better than i thought, But human centipede 3 is the gem in the series. Absolutely batshit insane. Its brilliant and you guys should watch it.
No 2 is kinda ok aswell, quite disturbing and worth a watch aswell.
October 13, 2015 at 5:44 am
You guys are legends. I wait every year for October to see Monster Madness…!!!
October 13, 2015 at 6:03 am
To be honest Martyrs, a French ”torture porn” was much worse.
October 13, 2015 at 10:24 am
Did James do ‘A Serbian Film’ yet?
October 13, 2015 at 6:42 pm
Haha, that’d be interesting.
October 13, 2015 at 6:11 am
Calvaire and À l’intérieur are awesome too! I hope you’ll review those.
And cool that you reviewed a Dutch film. Somehow, horror isn’t made that much here, and this one, is one of the only ones that got some international recognition. :p
October 13, 2015 at 6:21 am
NIce, review part 2 next hahaa
October 13, 2015 at 6:50 am
I think I’ll pass on this one guys if it’s all the same to you.
October 13, 2015 at 8:23 am
I always thought that the term ‘Torture Pr0n’ was used for a movie that offers little else than gore, a movie where the gore/torture is the star of the movie and not the characters. It’s pr0n for people who like torture and gore.
October 13, 2015 at 6:40 pm
I always thought they called it “porn” in that it’s graphic and excessive, although I’ve also noticed sexual aspects as Mike pointed out.
October 13, 2015 at 9:00 am
Mike really sucks. Geez, every sentence starts with “like duuh” and never lets James shine, has he deserve. Damn, i used come to cinemassacre everyday, but now mike HAS to be in all of the vids…
October 13, 2015 at 1:44 pm
Yeah. I do not like how Mike cuts James off all of the time and a lot of the times James doesn’t pick back up on what he was saying.
October 13, 2015 at 9:18 am
This franchise is one in a million, you should check the overall in youtube with the trailers…too much dislikes hahaha. It really belongs to another world
October 13, 2015 at 9:23 am
Not a great movie. It relies purely on the “shock” factor of the human centipede. There also isn’t much of a point to the movie outside of the crazy scientist, almost seems like it would’ve worked better as an episode of masters of horror than a full movie. Good to see you guys reviewing a more modern horror movie though!
October 13, 2015 at 9:41 am
I’ve seen all three movies. Never thought my horror street cred would outmatch your own. I know you don’t have time to watch EVERY SINGLE MOVIE out there — especially being a creative talent yourself — but what’s this double-standard about not wanting to watch these movies? Doesn’t need a sequel, really? After all the Friday the 13ths and everything? I’m not saying these are GOOD movie by any stretch of the imagination, but the fun of the sequels is that they outdo each other in terms of shock value (same as Troma). They all have a dark, twisted sense of humor, but the third one definitely takes the cake in terms of weirdness.
Have you ever seen any Quentin Dupieux movies? Heard of “Rubber” (the movie about the tire that kills people)? I always seek out weird movies like that.
October 13, 2015 at 9:58 am
Before anyone accuses me of attacking James again, I just want to say for the record I love James and Mike. I’ve watched almost all the videos on this site and I’m a big fan of all their work and opinions in general. But that doesn’t necessarily mean I have to AGREE with everything they say. I just think it’s weird you don’t care for these movies, because as Mike pointed out, you’re obsessed with shit and perverse things in your other videos. But I get it; those have a comedic edge to them, while “torture porn” is undoubtedly bleak and designed to nauseate. I’m not a big fan of them either (and I respect Ebert’s opinion on them). I forgot where I was going with this…eh, no matter. Just ignore me. 😛
October 13, 2015 at 10:18 am
What a movie this was.
October 13, 2015 at 10:32 am
Despite having “porn” in the name, “torture porn” has nothing to do with sex. It’s a term used to describe movies like Saw and Hostel that focus mainly on graphic depictions of torture with little to no plot. The “porn” part of it comes from the idea that the viewers are getting some kind of sick, twisted pleasure from watching these movies. It’s a term coined by the same kinds of film critics who dismissed The Exorcist as “nothing more than a religious porn film” (squeamish critics sure love the word “porn”, don’t they?)
October 13, 2015 at 12:20 pm
Thank you. Spared me a few minutes.
October 13, 2015 at 6:45 pm
Yes I think that’s pretty much it. But I do think there can be sexual aspects nonetheless.
October 13, 2015 at 10:51 am
creepy and gross isnt the same thing.
this isnt creepy.. its just really dumb, simple and gross.
“hey you guise we made a movie that will gross you out, please give us money”
October 13, 2015 at 11:20 am
i want to see a review of black sheep. they did poultrygeist already so why not
October 13, 2015 at 11:42 am
This is one of those movies that i just don’t feel the need to ever watch. Not even a little bit.
October 13, 2015 at 12:18 pm
I saw this movie a few years ago. I expected the worst but was surprised that the movie was good. The concept is really gross, but The Human Centipede is, at its core, a mad scientist movie. The doctor carries the movie and it works well as a standalone horror movie. The sequels sound like crap though.
I think term “torture porn” refers to how there’s nothing else to the movie other than the torture, just as in porn people watch just for the sex. I never took it to mean there was a sexual aspect to the torture.
October 13, 2015 at 12:39 pm
Human Centipede 2 must be even worse than Cannibal Holocaust and other banned movies if everyone that watched it keep telling others to stay away from it. And I thought Poultrygeist would be the more disturbing movie.
October 13, 2015 at 1:28 pm
A movie I’ve steered clear of even as a die hard horror fan for obvious reasons, but after hearing your take, I’ll be giving it a go.
October 13, 2015 at 1:30 pm
never watched it, never will. I remember getting sick to my stomach when the trailer was released. I will never say someone else should not be able to watch it but its just not for me. And I watched the Hostel films, and kind of enjoyed them!
The south park parody was great, the Asian guy eating was the best part.
Now can I just point out how James kept saying mouth to “anus” instead of just mouth to ass.
October 13, 2015 at 1:36 pm
To hell with torture porn movies like this and A Serbian Film and The August Underground series and The Angel’s Melancholia all of these movies trying to be ultra realistic and nihilistic and disgusting and gory. They are unpleasant and unenjoyable, it doesn’t matter if they have decent cinematography or whatever. They aren’t artistic either, that is just a meaningless phrase applied to meaningless bullshit in order to try and give it legitimacy.
October 13, 2015 at 1:39 pm
human centipede 2 is a lot better, you must watch it
there is one movie i prefer over this one, it’s call Martyrs, it’s a french, french-canadian movie & it’s available in the usa but you must listen to the internatiinal release because they cut off 2 min
October 13, 2015 at 1:46 pm
Those who consider Human Centipede to be the most shocking film ever, clearly haven’t seen A Serbian Film.
October 13, 2015 at 3:44 pm
I thought the South Park parody was pretty good too. “HumancentIPad”
October 13, 2015 at 3:45 pm
And they made a 3rd in may.
October 13, 2015 at 3:49 pm
‘If this was scripted, I would have done my research.’ That’s one of the main reasons why these unscripted videos dont work for Monster Madness. Fans of MM, and Cinemasscre in general, look forward to the videos where James and Mike put their full effort and knowledge. If they are going to continue with these unscripted YouTube videos for next year (which I hope they don’t) I hope they put more thought into them instead of just pounding down 10-12 in a single day and not doing their research.
October 13, 2015 at 6:21 pm
Also, do you know the Burning Moon by Olaf Ittenbach?
October 13, 2015 at 7:18 pm
Ya’ll gotta do A Serbian Film. 😉
October 13, 2015 at 7:46 pm
Torture Porn is not about porn as in sexuality its about violence voyeurism, not getting sexually aroused (might be your thing but anyway) Its about violence, finding the most violent gruesome, free, unhindged, disgusting violence for sake of violence with no regards to plot or world building. I look at it like so, Saw = Torture Movie. Saw 4-5-6 whatever = torture porn. Its past the point of story telling, its more about the kills than anything else. You could argue that slashers like Fiday the 13th became torture porn in their own ways.
October 13, 2015 at 8:06 pm
have you seen the movie called the feast i think it would fit in well for the monster madness
October 13, 2015 at 9:08 pm
You know that sickass Japanese guy was gettin off on a chick sown to his asshole. There was no torture for him.
October 13, 2015 at 9:31 pm
Gotta love it! lol I just witnessed two idiots pick apart a piece of shit and brag about how they found an undigested piece of corn! lol
October 14, 2015 at 12:29 am
I would never watch Human Centipede or any of those other “torture porn” movies. I’m too much of a wimp for them.
October 14, 2015 at 12:42 am
I’m serious, guys, please delete my account.
October 14, 2015 at 1:10 am
For some reason my comments aren’t posting. Testing. 1-2-3
October 14, 2015 at 1:11 am
Ha, only when I test it without text of any purpose does it work.
October 14, 2015 at 2:11 am
Quite simply, a movie you wish you didn’t see. One that makes you embrace the idea of somehow ‘unseeing’ a movie if you could. More of a challenge than anything else. One you only tell close friends you watched.
To name a few appropriate responses regarding this movie.
October 14, 2015 at 2:56 am
There’s not just one but three of these? Wow.
October 14, 2015 at 3:02 am
The third film is hilarious! I’ve always hated criminals, so seeing them being subjected to this is just funny.
October 14, 2015 at 4:20 am
This film is not f*ucked up…review Serbian Film..Human centipede is sesame street in comparison.
October 14, 2015 at 6:04 am
Hmmm…. naked people and asses…. of course Mike would see this as a porno.
October 14, 2015 at 6:20 am
There is a fine line between disturbing and stupid.
Human Centipede keeps good distance from that line.
Human Centipede 2 is right on that line.
Human Centipede 3 goes so far past that line, it laps it.
October 14, 2015 at 3:45 pm
Fortunately the South Park parody inoculated me to the grossness of this movie. 😉
October 14, 2015 at 9:13 pm
I’ve seen the third film and they quoted Roger Ebert in it!
October 15, 2015 at 12:50 pm
Didn’t expect to see this here. Will you do A Serbian Film too? 😀
October 15, 2015 at 3:15 pm
If you look up the definition of ‘porn’ it’s actually ” emphasizing the sensuous or sensartional aspects of a non sexual subject” so that makes the term ‘torture porn’ make a little more sense
October 18, 2015 at 11:17 pm
Never heard of gonna try to find it
October 19, 2015 at 12:46 am
October 20, 2015 at 9:07 am
dare you to watch the sequel James. you’ll find it hard to say the same stuff about it. That movie is an insane, sick, sick thing that made me feel nothing but uncomfortable.
October 22, 2015 at 11:55 pm
R U serious? This movie was a P.o.S.
I’d take Saw over this any day.
Human Centipede is just a terrible fan-fiction without the fan. It takes us to the mouth-to-anus monster and just goes from there for the next hour. It’s shocking, but that’s like a Christmas cracker. One disappointing bang and the novelty soon wears off.
Saw has an actual story to tell and a great horror villain. Plus, the self-mutilation has a point. “How far are you willing to go to live?”
October 30, 2015 at 5:37 pm
I will never tell someone to, “eat shit!” again. 🙁
October 31, 2015 at 11:01 pm
That movie is disgusting and just seems silly. I don’t think I need to see it. This discussion was fun, though.
October 23, 2016 at 7:09 pm
This movie just pissed me off. I did not like it at all. Apparently it’s medically possible as well.
