Interesting, I never heard of dark-house being used as a genre term before. It makes sense though.

Why are criticisms being deleted? I truly, sincerely want a response from James or Mike (and not just a “guess” from a fan). No you aren’t obligated to respond, but it sure would be nice. I’d also like an official explanation as to why this site doesn’t have as much good content as it used to. Why is it so hard to give an explanation? What’s the problem? And what’s so damaging about having criticisms show up on this site? It’s not like it’s gonna hurt anything. People will still enjoy this site.

And by the way, it’s the more innocent/thoughtful criticisms that are being deleted, not the really rude/trollish ones.

An official explanation as to why the site doesn’t have as much good content as it used to? What the fuck are you talking about? James obviously works his ass off to push out content and we are smack in the middle of the best time of year, Monster madness! A video a day isn’t enough for you? If you haven’t checked it out already I would suggest the Misery review, because I think James is talking directly to you…How about you stop being negative and just enjoy the FREE content…

Because they get mad when people don’t worship them.

Monster Madness is as great as always. I was talking about the site’s content overall (ever since the movie). You’re still just making assumptions about how “James works his ass off” – that’s why I want an explanation from him (or Mike). They sure don’t look like they’re working their asses off with J&MM. Maybe they are, but if that’s the case, why don’t they work their asses off for things that are more unique and interesting?

Yea, the Misery review was talking to you.
Artists arent in a constant peak, cant churn out Thriller everytime.

@Seraphstar I am totally with you. I know, your comments will be deleted, so will be mine.

The site has more good content than it used it.

      • October 10, 2015 at 1:55 am

They sometimes forget that they are supposed to be churning out daily projects for you, Seraphstar. If you want a lesson on site control take a look at the earlier material. They didn’t put out a video everyday; nor did they put one out every week. With James and Mike Mondays, Ryan and Mike, etc etc they are putting more stuff out (along with the youtube gaming streams) than they ever had. You want more explanation of why you can’t see them working their asses off? How about PR events, long-term projects, and the most important: family. They work tirelessly to shoot videos, edit videos, and work on ideas and scripts for things like Board James. Also, research for ideas comes in the form of physical research as in looking stuff and playing the game or watching the movie. It takes time. Relax, be patient, and you will be rewarded. Quit being a whiny baby because someone doesn’t respond to your comment right away.

What you’re saying may be true, but did you hear that directly from James or Mike? That’s why I want a response from them.

I’m sorry, but recently I’ve just had the feeling that they’re only doing what’s cheap, quick, and easy

“The old dark house” and the “Haunted house” genres have always been lumped together with me into just a “Haunted house” genre. It may or may not be supernatural with ghosts or specters, but the characters (and sometimes the audience) doesn’t find out until close to the end, much like your Scooby Doo analogy.

Great review! These scripted reviews are one of my favorite things about October. I prefer them greatly over the unscripted reviews

Great video James! By the way are you ever going to review any kids Halloween movies? I don’t think a movie has to be r rated of just for adults to be a good Halloween movie. What about corpse bride, beetlejuice, witches, teen wolf or nightmare before Christmas?

The Halloween Tree would be a great one to review. One of my favs!

Considering the fact that he already reviewed Beetlejuice, Teen Wolf and Nightmare Before Christmas, I’d say…yeah.

    • October 9, 2015 at 2:59 am

He’s done Monster Squad in the past. also how in the HELL is Teen Wolf a Halloween movie? if it’s because it’s got a wolf in it, then Harry Potter and friggin’ Twilight would be on the list too

Would be nice if “The Monster” wasn’t invisible…
And before anyone says “take it off AdBlock”, it’s not on, at all.
Good thing this is on Youtube, or else there would be MORE serious problems regarding this site, as others have pointed out, just on this thread alone!

  • October 8, 2015 at 6:49 pm

I’m surprised that you’ve never done Drive Thru. That horror movie was great.

    October 8, 2015 at 9:23 pm

Hey James! Have you even seen this? its a silent film about Edgar Allan Poe.

I never thought of the dark house as a separate genre. I learned something new. Also, I’m definitely into checking out such an old silent era horror film.
