Lousy game, there were 2 ok-ish evil dead games on ps2 however.

Also when are you guys going to play until dawn on ps4? Easily one of the best horror themed games I’ve played in years.

Doug was at James’ place… That means that something big is coming up! 😀 Anytime those two had made a crossover, it was amazing!

I had no idea this existed. It’s cool Doug is on the east coast!

They’re making a new TV series – Ash VS The Evil Dead. Sam Raimi is doing it, thankfully. They got Bruce Campbell, too.

Play the Ressurection Evil Dead game, it’s a lot better. That one is actually damned fun.

During summer 2002, a friend of mine and I played a many a games of the Resident Evil series. After beating most of them available at the time, and still wanting to play something in the survival horror genre, we decided to give HAIL TO THE KING a shot.

Much like you guys, the game was such shit we didn’t make it too far outside the cabin either.

That game sucks, review the PS2 Fistful of boomstick, that one was fun.

  • October 8, 2015 at 9:37 pm

You better should have played “Evil Dead: Regeneration” on PS2, starring Bruce Campell and Ted Raimi. It has much better controls and gameplay and it is funny as hell!

Seems like worse camera angles then re1, which was tricky

i had this game on PS scared the hell out of me when i was a kid i think it was on xbox they made “Evil Dead Fistful of Boomstick” and that was pretty cool, it was way less scary than this one but more fun and action.

personally, i’m just not a fan of nostalgia critic or jon tron videos.

    • October 9, 2015 at 1:17 am

They’re too intense lol.. Although Mike kinda is too.

Agreed. The forced delivery is just too much. I can get behind JonTron on occasion, Doug is nail s on a chalkboard to me. Though he seems like a great dude, fairness to him.

Yeah, this game sucked ass. Play the regeneration one on xbox or ps2. As good as it got for this series.

  • October 9, 2015 at 1:16 am

Ugh.. Too much monsters. That sucks because the graphics are pretty. I’ve always loved cgi stills in videogames.

Does anyone know what the opening music is?

  • October 9, 2015 at 4:34 am

I have this game for PC.
You got longer in the game than I ever did.
I prefer Regeneration and A fistful of boomstick.

One of the funniest videos I’ve seen in a long time. Love Doug and James together. Those camera angles are cringe-worthy and probly destroy the games chance of having any replay value. “I pressed B” hahaha. Too funny

  • October 9, 2015 at 7:27 am

Doug, Doug ‘I have no time for cult cinema’ Walker is a fan of the Evil Dead movies??
    :0 !?!?!?!?

Yeah with this controls, it took me a while to get used to those “tank controls” in the original Silent Hill as well. It was kinda nice that SH2 had the option to play with those or with more traditional controls so you could choose whichever works better for you (well it’s also a great game in general lol).

I’ve played all three Evil Dead games. They’re great, especially because of Bruce Campbell’s voice work. I remember there was a lot of running away and tricky camera angles in this game, though. Have you played Pitfall 3D? I thought that was a great game with Evil Dead-esque Bruce Campbell one-liners throughout.
Oh, and I am PUMPED for the Ash vs. Evil Dead series. One of my favorite movie serieseseses of all timeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Yeah this was not a great game, I did not get much further than them. Fist Full Of Boomstick from xbox and ps2 was a much better game.

  • October 10, 2015 at 1:34 pm

fyi, saying you played something on the commodore (referring to the 64) is like saying you played something on the sony. Sry for nitpicking. Amiga fan here 🙂

  • October 10, 2015 at 8:11 pm

yeah i played the PS1 version of this game nothing more then a so so Resident Evil clone. maybe for a future video whether it be you and Mike or Doug, Pat etc. give Evil Dead A Fistful of Boomstick on PS2 a try

Great to see a video with James and Doug again!

  • October 11, 2015 at 1:22 pm

Ok, so I just saw the remake of Evil Dead 1, I wanted to give it a chance. It’s…. Horrible. Generic and cliche and just bad. I mean, ed1 isn’t a masterpiece but it was special at least.

  • October 14, 2015 at 3:37 pm

PLEASE play Evil Dead Regeneration for the PS2, it is by far the best Evil Dead game. Or better yet play ILLBLEED for Dreamcast, that game was horrible and weird and awesome all in one.
