Terrible pick wat were they thinking?

    • December 24, 2015 at 9:24 pm

shut up Terry, I kinda liked the game, and my friends would play it for hours on end, when I rented it. I was still the top player though…

  • September 7, 2015 at 2:13 am

Oh yeah this was a classic. I was always Macho Man.

  • September 7, 2015 at 2:16 am

Yeah, this game was great back in the day. I like the Arcade Royal Rumble game from the early 90s. That was the best.

  • Rennie Page

    September 7, 2015 at 2:28 am

Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you JAMES!!!!! One of the biggest wrestling fans of all time. The era between 88-98 was the best. And yes hogan was in WCW at the time of late 93-2000 before he went back to WWF. And yes he was shooting movies and crap like that at the time as well. Macho man and Mr Perfect were my all time favorites. James you already had so much respect from me, but now…..just wow. It’s topps man!

You guys gotta play Circus Maximus on Xbox sometime… maybe some other monday?

  • September 7, 2015 at 3:38 am

Have you thought of doing any of the “Forgotten” Resident Evils? Like Resident Evil Survivor lol

  • z_thompson

    September 7, 2015 at 4:41 am

Oh man I loved this game. My friends and I rented it all the time.I think WWF Raw is 4 players. Would love to see that one!

  • September 7, 2015 at 4:58 am

well well well, we finally found out Bootsy’s real name. Also, I’m so glad they’re doing a WWF game, finally

    • MrBrrumpkins

      September 7, 2015 at 6:48 pm

His name was no secret Art Vandelay.

    • greedo

      September 8, 2015 at 7:19 pm

I’m glad that his real name isn’t Bootsy. That would quite the burden to carry around in real life! I’d hate to saddle a kid with a name like that.

  • September 7, 2015 at 5:14 am

Yet another LJN that is ok in James’ books? What’s the world coming to?! πŸ˜‰

  • Fred . Fuchs

    September 7, 2015 at 6:06 am

I dislike wrestling but this video was more entertaining than what I expected. It’s nice to see Ryan again in J&MM.

  • bud

    September 7, 2015 at 6:18 am

The fucking Micro Machines man! Almost forgot about that guy.

    • bud

      September 7, 2015 at 6:22 am

By the way, I looked up Darkstalkers. It’s not REALLY about the Universal Monsters, some characters are just inspired by them.

  • September 7, 2015 at 7:07 am

8:38 It’s barely 7AM but I’m fairly confident in calling that the best part of my day.

    • MrBrrumpkins

      September 7, 2015 at 6:50 pm

      HAHA. Wreck-It Ryan went turbo.

  • Fred . Fuchs

    September 7, 2015 at 8:07 am

I forgot, you should play Darkstalkers (possibly the 3) like Ryan said: it’s made by Capcom and it has cool and crazy characters.

  • Sokurah

    September 7, 2015 at 8:47 am

A lot of good old school wrestling games out there, but this is not one of them… On SNES/Super Famicom you’ll want to go with the Super Fire Pro Wrestling series. SNES also has a pretty good port of the great arcade game “WWF Wrestlemania”.

  • Briany

    September 7, 2015 at 9:34 am

Ryan spazzing out on the controller is very GIF-worthy.

  • Glorious Gerbil

    September 7, 2015 at 10:27 am

Wrestling is so retarded yet so entertaining!

  • Weldin Dunn

    September 7, 2015 at 11:02 am

    I like Grape Crush.

  • September 7, 2015 at 11:20 am

To answer Mike’s comment at about the 8:00 mark, there were 2 different versions of this game on the SNES and Genesis. They played the exact same, but had different rosters. Hulk Hogan was on the Genesis version.

  • Deathbringer

    September 7, 2015 at 12:23 pm

That ref/announcer looking guy at the end looked like “Mean” Gene Okerlund to me.

    • September 7, 2015 at 1:40 pm

I think it was Howard finkle lol

    • Rennie Page

      September 7, 2015 at 2:27 pm

Pretty sure it is mean gene okerlund but could possibly be Howard finkle lol. I think mean gene left for WCW around the same time hogan did in late 93-94 so it’s a toss up but I’d say it’s mean gene lol.

    • greedo

      September 8, 2015 at 7:21 pm

It is! Couldn’t have wrestling in those days without Mean Gene. Not surprising that they put him in this game. Always loved that guy.

    September 7, 2015 at 12:34 pm

Ah, we played the shit out of WWF WresleMania on PC from ’95 with my brother. So great game! I still have it on my PC and play it if I need to clear my mind or if I want some mindless fight. πŸ˜€ What makes is really funny is the commentator voices: “Pandemonium, in the ring!”, “Back to the sandbox!”, “Is that legal?!” etc. :DDD

  • Phoenix7786

    September 7, 2015 at 12:39 pm

You guys should try a translated version of one of the Firepro games. Here’s an SNES one. Just be aware that Firepro is programmed to force button-mashing to lose. It’s all about timing when you grapple up.

    • Phoenix7786

      September 7, 2015 at 1:39 pm

I actually cannot link it (which makes sense actually given those annoying ad bots). Just check out Super Fire Pro Wrestling X Premium at theisozone and look for the translated rom.

This game was a classic for me as a kid. I used to rent this game all the time.

  • gamelover200

    September 7, 2015 at 2:45 pm

I start to worry as soon I saw the LJN logo.

    • gamelover200

      September 7, 2015 at 2:51 pm

…but at least it’s one of the good LJN games, like spiderman maximum carnage.

  • September 7, 2015 at 3:00 pm

    HBK Shawn Michaels’ theme song:

      September 7, 2015 at 3:32 pm

How is wrestling not considered the gayest thing in the world?

      • September 8, 2015 at 2:27 pm

I’m a wrestling fan, and even I can’t answer that.

Quick request for MnJM…. Rock and Roll Racing (SNES).

  • MrBrrumpkins

    September 7, 2015 at 6:59 pm

Hey Wreck-It Ryan, stop going turbo! Hey James, tell Mike to get off of his ass with the streams and do a gem review or something. He also needs to stop saying he doesn’t have time for Dark Souls when he plays for hours on end. I’m playing DS on steam right now, he should jump on that.

  • Karanastic

    September 7, 2015 at 7:16 pm

I had this when it came out. Great game with a kickass roster. Still holds up.

  • batratspidercrab

    September 7, 2015 at 7:24 pm

If I was a wrestler, my theme song would be Run the Night by Wicked Lady. Look it up, it’s a good song and the album cover has boobs.

Mario Wrestling – sooooo like, Smash Bros?

    • Aaron1375

      September 7, 2015 at 11:56 pm

That was what I thought when they mentioned that too.

  • Aaron1375

    September 7, 2015 at 11:55 pm

I enjoyed wrestling back in the day and I still like to play a wrestling game as long as it features a lot of classic wrestlers and it has an awesome royal rumble mode of play. My fave event and it makes an awesome game. I liked going in at number one and surviving till the end!

If you liked watching the computer doing a Royal Rumble whilst having a beer, you should try watching an actual Royal Rumble match. They’re always pretty entertaining.

  • September 8, 2015 at 8:11 am

For once an cinemassacre video worked with Windows 10 error free without having to go youtube; YES. I’m an big fan of the WWE eventhoug many of thier members I love alot more as actors.

  • September 8, 2015 at 8:33 am

Awesome to see this game. Brings backs memories of way back in the day. Was a good game.

  • itscmillertime

    September 8, 2015 at 1:00 pm

I must say, i prefer the simple board james where you guys just play games and goof around. The slap sticky happy videos were refreshing. I am worried about where this story will go.

  • September 8, 2015 at 1:49 pm

Yo guys do one of the WCW games for N64, (like WCW vs nWo) those were sick!

  • September 8, 2015 at 2:22 pm

Used to love this game as a kid.
The only thing I was bummed about was that I couldn’t play as the full Money Inc. tag team.. so I used Narcissist as a fill-in for IRS.

Speaking of which, the Sega Genesis version had different characters. Rick ‘The Model’ Martel, IRS, ‘Hacksaw’ Jim Duggan, Papa Shango, and.. yes.. Hulk Hogan.
However, that version did not include Ric Flair, Tatanka, Yokozuna, ‘Million Dollar Man’ Ted DiBiase, and Mr. Perfect.

  • MadHitz

    September 8, 2015 at 3:50 pm

I had this game on Genesis, and Hulk Hogan was present in that version. Such a fun game, especially with friends! I remember hooking up a 4-player adapter and 4 of us playing the Royal Rumble. It was insane!

  • September 9, 2015 at 12:25 am

I guess Metroid and Zelda are still distant dreams.

    • Antony Pols

      September 10, 2015 at 1:07 am

I would rather see them as playthrough videos, or live-streams maybe. JaMM is fun, but we miss a lot of the gameplay due to banter + 10 min videos on average. Mike’s got the taste for live-streams, so who knows.

  • Tomohiro Tanaka

    September 9, 2015 at 11:25 am

That was fun! Thank you for finally doing a pro wrestling game!

  • Ben_from_G-town

    September 9, 2015 at 4:09 pm

That game doesn’t look too bad. I remember there was an old wrestling game with blue blood. It was funny. πŸ˜€

Mike doesn’t know about Darkstalkers? Seriously?

  • Vernon Schaal

    September 11, 2015 at 12:44 am

I had this game as a kid too, but I had the Sega Genesis version. Which was the superior version, because the genesis version featured Hulk hogan. There’s actually a difference between 5 players between games. The Genesis version had Hulk Hogan, “I.R.S” Irwin Shister, “The Model” Rick Martel, PaPa Shango, and Hacksaw Jim Duggan. In the SNES version, they were swapped out for Tatanka, Yokozuna, Mr. Perfect, Rick Flarer, and “The Million Dollar Man” Ted Dibiase.

  • Billy Cote

    September 11, 2015 at 9:56 pm

Royal Rumble for Sega Genesis featured a different roster for the most part. It had Hulk Hogan and Papa Shango.

  • September 12, 2015 at 4:52 pm

There wasn’t any doubt that BRETT HEART won! πŸ™‚

    great game guys! πŸ™‚

    September 12, 2015 at 10:00 pm

I bought the snes just for this game.

  • September 13, 2015 at 4:23 am

I always liked Monday Night Raw a little better. You guys should check it out if you’re bored. And Wrestlefest for arcade, of course.

  • September 14, 2015 at 10:30 pm

You should play wwf no mercy for n64 cause it’s awsome! Then play all the other n64 wrestling games cause they suck!

  • September 14, 2015 at 10:31 pm

U should play wwf no mercy for n64 cause it’s awsome! Then play all the other n64 wrestling games cause they suck!

It’s great that you guys played (and enjoyed) this one! It’s one of the few LJN games that isn’t completely lousy… Glad you guys had fun! Thanks!

    • skwij

      September 28, 2015 at 4:22 am

Oh, yeah. If you’ve never tried Darkstalkers, it’s available on the Xbox live arcade.

  • September 30, 2015 at 12:27 pm

The wrestling games on the SNES and Genesis are all like this and they’re all great. RAW is probably the best because you can have 4 player local matches.
