Dudes I played this game on so many road trips. It was the ultimate “go-to” game for me. That and contra operation C. Good ole days of GAMEBOY. Before this technology craze called smart phones lol. Love you guys!

I have about 7 game boy games and this one is my absolute favorite. Hard but satisfying as all hell to beat!

      June 1, 2015 at 3:52 am

or at least….it was hard as a kid!

    June 1, 2015 at 3:55 am

    Great video guys!

  • June 1, 2015 at 4:54 am

Gargoyle’s Quest was my personal favorite Game Boy title, although the final boss is a total joke to beat. You just stand there on the right platform and shoot until he’s destroyed.

  • June 1, 2015 at 5:41 am

i still love the music so much for a GB game it sound outstanding!

  • June 1, 2015 at 5:49 am

You guys think you can do a tutorial for setting up an Atari 2600?

    • Weldin Dunn

      June 1, 2015 at 10:03 am

Why? All you do is plug it in the wall and get a coaxial jack!

    • June 3, 2015 at 3:19 pm

there are many good ones on youtube that should help you. you could also ask me if you have any i might know the answer.

    • June 1, 2015 at 10:47 am

      Wow, thanks for finding that

      • Tim Harrod

        June 1, 2015 at 10:47 pm

*NO.* Thank YOU for hundreds of hours of free entertainment.

  • June 1, 2015 at 7:00 am

I’m so glad to see some GameBoy-love from you two. Link’s Awakening would be great to see, it’s pretty much my favorite GB-game but I would love to see Metroid 2. As a Metroid-fan I never played this game until it got released on the 3DS VC a few years ago since I was so certain it would be awful, but to my surprise I actually loved it.

  • June 1, 2015 at 8:07 am

If you haven’t already, you should check out The Game Theorist’s youtube video about the Mario timeline. It gets into who’s actually in a relationship with who near the end, among other things.

    June 1, 2015 at 8:43 am

Those jumping vampires would be Chinese vampires, or jiangshi.

    June 1, 2015 at 8:53 am

James mike. You should check this video:

About Mario, Luigi and the girls you mentioned

  • June 1, 2015 at 9:36 am

You got to make an OverAnalyzers video about Who fucks who in Marios world!

  • June 1, 2015 at 10:14 am

If you’re breaking out the 3D glasses to do 3D Worldrunner again, might I suggest you do Rad Racer as well. Make it a 3D episode.

I always liked the sequels better. Especially 6 golden coins I didn’t like not being able to go back. I saw my gameboy at my folks house it’s all crusty and has the game genie looming out the top almost doubling it’s size.

    June 1, 2015 at 11:32 am

Those vampires are the same as the enemies in Kid Dracula and Yoshika from the Touhou games.

  • June 1, 2015 at 12:30 pm

Ow wow, HERE is the James and Mike Monday! Double treat I guess. cool 😎

  • June 1, 2015 at 2:05 pm

WARIO LAND!!! That kicks the snot out of Mario Land! Play that one sometime.

James there is a “lot” on eBay right now at this very moment for I believe 8 unscratched Dick Tracy crime stoppers cards from McDonald’s. The auction starting price is $180.00. Give it a look.

Great episode as usual. And seriously you guys need to play links awakening, ive been requesting that game for years. Theres very few videos worth watching about that game, plus the select warp glit h is probably the most entertaining/game breaking glitch of all time.

    June 1, 2015 at 4:07 pm

this is actually a really well thought out mario timeline.

Hey guys! Loved the episode by the way and I think it’s time for METROID / SUPERMETROID. I hope you guys can do a full play-through with SUPER METROID (after that long Blaster master and Star Wars why not). Mike is always talking about the dudes getting pussy, now let’s switch it up by having you play the most badass bounty hunter in the universe. Oh and she has a pussy too so it’s a Win Win. XD

I prefer mario land 2! Loved the three little pigs level.

June 1, 2015 at 8:10 pm for that dick tracy scratcher commercial Shows the scratcher well.

  • June 1, 2015 at 8:51 pm

There isn’t enough Mike on Cinemassacre. Only James and Mike Mondays, the occasional cameo on a James video, and rarely the game or movie review. Why cant Mike make a regular series?

  • June 1, 2015 at 11:56 pm

I’m pretty sure the Luigi/Daisy pairing was inspired by the live-action Mario movie.

  • Tross

    June 2, 2015 at 1:37 am

I didn’t get the chance to play this one back in the day, but I did play it on my 3DS. Too bad it wasn’t possible to emulate colour on the 3DS for original Gameboy games, but I still remember enjoying this game. I’m going to have to agree with the popular opinion though that Super Mario Land 2 is better. This one is still fun, and to have a decent Mario title on the Gameboy at the time must have been mind blowing.

    June 2, 2015 at 9:12 pm

My neighbor had a Gameboy and part 2 of Mario land. Don’t know how many batteries we went through to beat that game. I still go back to that classic for a playthrough.

    June 5, 2015 at 1:36 pm

This Game Theorist video about a Mario time-line actually has a shorter explanation somewhere near the end that Mario’s love interest is Daisy when all is said and done.

    • Mike Brown

      June 5, 2015 at 1:38 pm

It also explains the Pauline thing.

  • Frida Fugazzi

    June 5, 2015 at 3:35 pm

Hey James, I was wondering if you can do an episode of JMM with Zombies Ate My Neighbors as the game. You’re going to love this game, man, if you hadn’t played it before. And if you do, I hope it’s like how you did the contra episode; an entire run through, and uncut.

A classic game for a classic show.

I will be praying every single day, till the day I see ZAMN. Haha

    Cesar Loya

Watching you guys play video games is fucking shit. What happened to when you were making 2 new AVGN videos a month? You said the reason you weren’t making any was because you were making that flaming turd AVGN the movie, but now you don’t have any excuses. This is really fucking lazy.

Those aren’t jumping vampires, they’re leaping leprechauns! Or at least that’s what I always assumed they were.
