    Great game.

I can see where you’re coming from and I’ve made similar comments before. What happens in these videos is something I could do in real life – sit down and play a game with a couple friends. I enjoy these videos because I like the games and sometimes you might hear some interesting commentary, but they aren’t unique or memorable. I really only enjoy them when there’s nothing else to watch here.

This ain’t no review, at this point it’s just a Let’s Play with familiar faces that we like. And I like it. I watch it on sunday nights and it’s a cool background video to relax on.. Kinda why I don’t like intense guess J&M are getting sometimes…
AVGN is fun once in a while, but I think it got old.

    • May 26, 2015 at 7:33 pm

      this isn’t even a review…

    • May 26, 2015 at 10:50 pm

Another thing boring about these Let’s Play videos is they’re twenty minutes long and everybody sucks. It’s like watching your little sister play a game. Plus, why are they battling? Just have a race!

      May 27, 2015 at 4:06 am

Good point Pat MCD. I guess these are meant to be simple, and plus there’s a video every week. That’s okay, and that can still be enjoyable, but some people glamorize them as being something really amazing and incredible, and that’s what I don’t get. Oh well…

    • May 29, 2015 at 8:55 am

waiting for new videos is like waiting for the bus. you know its going to come but it feels like forever. James and Mike Mondays are fun videos that’s easy for them to make and something fun for the fans in the mean time

      May 29, 2015 at 11:59 pm

@Greenhat: There’s definitely nothing wrong with that, but I just hope that doesn’t PREVENT them from creating more scripted/in-depth content. If that were the case, I’d much rather have one AVGN or one Board James a month than four J & MMs. It isn’t necessary to have something every week. But if it’s not a hindrance to other content, then no problem.

    May 25, 2015 at 12:35 am

This game is so much fun, I would play it with my friends when we had sleepovers or at birthday parties. Hurrah for another Monday!

  • May 25, 2015 at 12:37 am

The worst in the Mario Kart series, bar none. The rubber-banding AI can put its mouth on my balls.

  • Don Skiver

    May 25, 2015 at 12:44 am

Mario Kart Double Dash is probably my favorite. That game is fucking amazing in my opinion. Same with Smash Bros. Smash Bros. Melee is my absolute favorite and it’s fucking amazing as well.

    • May 25, 2015 at 1:33 am

Double Dash is easily the most underrated Mario Kart game. Possibly the best one.

      • itscmillertime

        May 25, 2015 at 1:00 pm

        Completely agree!

      • May 27, 2015 at 7:05 pm

        Best one? Roflmao.

    • May 29, 2015 at 12:35 pm

Mos def the greatest in my opinion. So much memories playing that and Mario Bros. Melee on Gamecube.

  • May 25, 2015 at 12:45 am

It got kinda boring after they played Double Deck for the 3rd time . Do a Maro Party game with 4 players.

    May 25, 2015 at 12:56 am

No way, right on! Makin’ mondays better! Bootsy is awesome by the way, definitely my favorite guest. Loved the maniac mansion episode.

Mike won’t acknowledge my penis. That’s why this is the worst video ever.

    May 25, 2015 at 1:16 am

    Also, I’m stalking Bootsy πŸ˜‰

  • May 25, 2015 at 1:43 am

I grew up in the same era but I’m gonna have to call mario 64 the better game. It controls a lot better imo amongst other things

    • May 25, 2015 at 1:43 am

      mario kart 64 that is

    • Highwing

      May 25, 2015 at 1:51 am

I’d have to go with Diddy Kong Racing. πŸ˜‰

      May 25, 2015 at 5:16 pm

Mario was fun alone or maybe with one other friend taking turns to get stars. This and Goldeneye were awesome because 4 of you could play at once.

  • Weldin Dunn

    May 25, 2015 at 1:53 am

Awesome. My favorite one is the one on wii, but this one is, umm, yeah this one isn’t one of my favorites.

    May 25, 2015 at 2:32 am

GG now stands for Golden Girls. I feel stupid even making this “joke”. Love this site. The best. Games and horror movies. everything awesome

    May 25, 2015 at 2:46 am

Wow, this is an unfair contest. Next James and Mike Monday, have a guitar playing contest.

    May 25, 2015 at 2:52 am

The Lie Detector Board James episode is still based on youtube, and not cinemassacre. (Or however they normally otherwise host the video) Is this intentional? I wonder if they’ll even see this…

    • ToadRoad

      May 25, 2015 at 5:18 pm

Probably because you can’t make the clickable choices here. When I DL’d it to watch on my xbox 360, that was a problem I faced and I had to go to youtube to see the endings.

  • meanspirit

    May 25, 2015 at 4:13 am

This, Goldeneye, and later, Timesplitters 2 were the most fun 4 people could have together with their clothes on.

    May 25, 2015 at 6:12 am

Awesome game and still is to this day but I really want to see them 4 play Conkers: Bad Fur Day Multilayer

  • MonkeeJuice

    May 25, 2015 at 9:11 am

    I love this game!

  • May 25, 2015 at 9:50 am

    May 25, 2015 at 12:41 pm

This and Goldeneye 64 were my favorite sleepover party games!

      May 26, 2015 at 1:54 pm

Gauntlet Legends on n64 was the ultimate sleep over game. I was the little sister in my family, but would always stay up with my brother and his friend. And we would invite my friend over to fill that 4th spot. Was glorious.

  • JayRam

    May 25, 2015 at 1:31 pm

No joke: Just this morning, I was playing Mario Kart on the DS. Sat down at the computer and thought: I wonder if James and Mike will ever play a Mario racing game. Fucking weird.

  • May 25, 2015 at 1:34 pm

Awesome game and awesome 4-Player matches that you just had in Mario Kart 64. I definitely suggest you do another 4-Player game with Bootsy and Kyle because even though I do like watching both James & Mike play one game, I like even more when they bring two more friends and play in a 4-Player game. I suggest you play Super Smash Bros. or 007 Goldeneye or Mario Party 2 or Star Fox 64 or even The New Tetris. If you don’t want to play N64 games anymore, then play any other 4-Player game but since the N64 is the king of 4-Player local multiplayer, it is the best bet for choosing a 4-Player game, so that’s why I suggested only N64 games for 4-Player games and also because I like the N64 a lot.

Hey, guys- great vid. You need to do the racing part, though. It’d be nice to see who is the best in an all out race!

  • Phoenix7786

    May 25, 2015 at 2:05 pm

Golden Girls reference by Mike for the win!

  • Keenan Van der Griend

    May 25, 2015 at 2:07 pm

Please do Diddy Kong Racing at some point. It was one of the best games on the n64, and you guys would totally love it.

  • Tom Veilleux

    May 25, 2015 at 3:16 pm

Great episode. You guys should really do Mario Party 2 or Diddy Kong Racing next. Playing on a couch with three other friends was definitely the highlight of the N64!

    • Highwing

      May 25, 2015 at 3:45 pm

I responded to the guy above also suggesting Diddy Kong Racing, but the comment didn’t show up. Anyway, I always liked that game more than Mario Kart. πŸ™‚

      • greedo

        May 25, 2015 at 5:03 pm

I know. This comments system can be a bit glitchy. It’s the only downside to it.

  • May 25, 2015 at 5:09 pm

as much as i like just mike and james I’m really enjoying a foursome (that sounded wrong) how about: goldeneye, perfect dark, conkers bad fur day, smash bros, snowboard kids, diddy kong racing, mario party, smash tv, gauntlet legends, worms you can even play nightmare on elm street 4 player :p

    • ToadRoad

      May 25, 2015 at 5:20 pm

Perfect Dark with tons of bots would make for a great episode.

  • Flareblood

    May 25, 2015 at 9:16 pm

I love the battle modes on ALL Mario Kart games! XD

    • Flareblood

      May 25, 2015 at 9:18 pm

Yes, even the Mario Kart 8 version…

  • goodpenisbadpenis

    May 25, 2015 at 10:21 pm

You guys should have some kind of high stakes when there’s 4 of ya. Like, winner gets the game or keeps it. Since it was Mario, it could be like, loser eats a mushroom or gets a banana peel on the head. Use yer photo shopshop skills and make a bomb explode. Something to make the video a little more fun for the viewer. Keep up the good work fellas.

  • Josh Beerchief

    May 25, 2015 at 11:28 pm

Holy shit, Kyle isn’t wearing his fedora. He still can’t stop being a douche bag, however.

  • Dusty Benjamin

    May 26, 2015 at 1:15 am

Looks like you guys had a blast

  • May 26, 2015 at 10:37 am

I love that Bootsy plays as Toad. Toad ruins everything πŸ˜€

  • May 26, 2015 at 1:33 pm

Good video if only they played a gp as an extra that would have been more awesome. Here is a music video i did of a highlight from mk8, enjoy

  • Tim LeFevre

    May 26, 2015 at 3:28 pm

YES! Thank you for doing this game. This was one of my top 5 from the 64 library.

  • May 26, 2015 at 6:17 pm

nobody thought to help kyle with the basics of the game? pretty lame of everyone else.

  • urnapple

    May 27, 2015 at 1:41 am

James, the lord almighty nerd. Please, I beg you, do Archon. Such a great 2 player game. It would make an awesome video with you and Mike battling it out. ARCHON!!

  • ToadRoad

    May 27, 2015 at 10:02 pm

Surprised so many people dislike this game. Maybe it’s because it’s the only Mario Kart I ever played, but I STILL enjoying getting together and playing this with a group of people. Loser has to give up their controller to a spectator for the next race.

    May 27, 2015 at 11:43 pm

Yes! Mike, I’m usually the only one who can recall all the Golden Girls and their last names. Nice tie-in!

  • May 29, 2015 at 12:34 pm

Is Mike dressed as the nerd on purpose? Ha. Cool review dudes. Mario Kart is one of the fucking funnest game series of all time. It’s a game you have to play with the homies.

  • May 29, 2015 at 5:26 pm

That symmetrical multi-level map looks like a swastika.

  • chris jackso

    May 30, 2015 at 8:55 am

At the end, you guys say “lets look at the replay” as if its in real time, cause mike has to edit that in later right? so you were all laughing because james said “ohh look at that” as if it was happening but before editing he was just blurting it out with no context lmao. right?

  • June 2, 2015 at 11:03 pm

I love Mario Kart. It’s always fun to play with a group of friends.

  • unicornprincessofhearts

    June 3, 2015 at 11:16 pm

On the app, the video has a time stamp of 0:00 and doesn’t play πŸ™

  • June 10, 2015 at 3:30 am

Super Mario Kart, a masterpiece? Uh…no. The level design was nice and the music was cool but the driving sucked. I cannot tell you how much slipping, sliding, and crashing I did. With MK64, the driving is MUCH smoother. However, my favorite MK game is between 7 and 8. 7 has fun race courses and battle arenas. 8’s tracks are more, what’s the word, intricate, but they dropped the ball on the balloon battle challenge.

I have a question for bootsy. I remember in one of the videos he said his favourite game is Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3, and I’m wondering his thoughts on the new one thats coming out shortly.

  • no no

    June 25, 2015 at 10:50 pm

Mike, you’re crazy. I don’t know how old you are exactly, but James and I are literally the same age, and I played WAY more Mario Kart 64 than Super Mario Kart.

  • April 30, 2016 at 2:33 pm

    I remember playing this game/
