Porky’s (Atari 2600) Angry Video Game Nerd – Episode 130
“The 12 Days of Shitsmas” 9/12
December 19, 2014 at 10:35 am
They shoulda given it to LJN. Maybe a shitty movie and a shitty game company would cancel itself out and the game would be decent.
December 23, 2014 at 12:29 pm
You must be new here. LJN is the bringer of shit storms. In turn, feeding a shit storm will increase the shitphoon.

I saw this in a goodwill recently and was wondering if you’d heard of it!

I’ve been eying that big present since this began. I can’t wait to see inside!
December 19, 2014 at 10:59 am
The “submarine on wheels” is clearly a police car.
December 19, 2014 at 11:18 am
Awww… 3 more days left 🙁 this has been really fun to watch so far. You’ve really outdone yourself this year.
December 19, 2014 at 11:33 am
Shouldn’t that game count as Atari Porn? Maybe!
December 19, 2014 at 11:41 am
I was thinking the same thing.
swinging around on that pole would of been fucking fun back in the day. Game has flaws but it looks pretty good
December 19, 2014 at 11:46 am
Ohh wow. Can’t believe they would event attempt this as a game. I remember being disturbed as a child from the scene where the snake comes up through the toilet. To this day if I hear a noise in the toilet, I have to look just to be sure it’s not an animal coming to eat my ass.
December 19, 2014 at 12:03 pm
Seems like I should check out the movie!

Even though it has it’s place in the influence of gross-out films, I actually think Porky’s is quite an awful film. Nowhere near as good as Animal House or Caddyshack.
December 19, 2014 at 3:55 pm
Animal House seemed to be the better of them. Caddy Shack for me only had 1 or 2 funny scenes. Part 2 was unwatchable.
December 19, 2014 at 1:08 pm
Atari has some fun games. Not this one. Try haunted house.
December 19, 2014 at 1:36 pm
Game actually looks fun for atari
December 19, 2014 at 2:03 pm
Never played this game. But as someone who grew up in the 80’s (and therefore someone who used their imagination even while playing video games) as soon as the white character started chasing you I immediately thought of the rotting old woman in The Shining… *shudders*
(yes, I may be slightly disturbed)
December 19, 2014 at 2:40 pm
that looks great
December 19, 2014 at 2:46 pm
Aww i really thaught its Porky the pig from Merrie Melodies 😛
December 19, 2014 at 2:47 pm
This was a classic game for us. We were growing up in the ’80s when every boy saw the Porky’s movie and every boy played Atari so it was a natural. I admit it’s one really trippy game that only bears slight resemblance to the movie but the shower room and blowing up Porky’s whorehouse are straight from the movie. Say it’s not as good as Animal House or Caddyshack if you will, but they didn’t get any sequels whereas Porky’s had a trilogy.
In comparing it to more modern movies the most obvious connection would be American Pie. Exactly the same kind of coming-of-age, T&A, gross-out film.
December 19, 2014 at 2:48 pm
Whoops I should say that Caddyshack did get an awful sequel years later with a new cast but Porky’s had a trilogy with the same cast.
December 19, 2014 at 4:15 pm
wow atari games r the best
December 19, 2014 at 4:31 pm
I couldn’t hear anything you said James, I was too busy jacking my beef to that sexy shower screen.
December 19, 2014 at 5:25 pm
This was the best one.
I didn’t know this game existed. I’ll never play it so it was awesome for you to show everything in the game and do it entertainingly.
December 19, 2014 at 6:22 pm
Porky’s was not geared towards adults.
December 19, 2014 at 7:03 pm
So…is the game a shitload of fuck or isn’t it?
I can’t wait to see what’s in the big boxes!

This game shouldve added a porkys chase scene to the county line for an escape after the whorehouse closure just like the movie. The balbricker chasing you reminds me of kool aid man on intellivision when those ghost chase you with that creepy jaws like music when they get closer to the kids in the game..
December 20, 2014 at 12:09 am
A “Porky’s” game? To me, that sounds stupefying for any era. For what it’s worth, it looks like the game designers did what they could with it.
December 20, 2014 at 5:00 pm
Agreed, it appears that a genuine effort was made to make this playable within the limits of the 2600. Definitely truer to the source material than most movie-based games from later consoles.
December 20, 2014 at 1:29 am
I never saw the movie this game is supposedly based on, but the way you describe that shower scene, it had to have been R rated. This game looks awful though.
December 20, 2014 at 2:42 am
Hahaha that game is hilarious. I can’t believe you had the patience to beat it. Great review.
December 20, 2014 at 7:50 am
hihi. great. 🙂
December 20, 2014 at 5:44 pm
Your video player fucks up every time I watch a video (which is all of your videos) and THAT’s bullshit. Great vids tho! Love the shorter review style. Reminds me of the earlier episodes which are among my favorites.
December 20, 2014 at 7:25 pm
I beat this game back in the day. It was pretty awesome of it’s time. But to understand what’s happening you need to read the manual. XD
January 6, 2015 at 6:30 am
I remember the movie as quite cheesy and a bit cheeky. Probably not so fun to watch today. The game looks shite but not as unplayable as some of the other games from back then.
January 20, 2015 at 7:24 am
Wow. I never knew that was a thing. Only on Atari… Thanks!
January 22, 2015 at 8:53 pm
DAT ENDING =D
March 17, 2015 at 5:11 pm
Wow, that is incredibly diverse for an Atari game!
July 19, 2015 at 3:02 am
yea that’s awesome
