Thanks for the new video
December 1, 2014 at 12:19 am
Sick new video, james n mike. Honestly i wait all week for mondays just for this haha
December 1, 2014 at 12:21 am
Something about that new title card feels early 2000’s, dug the video though, the music flowed excellently. You guys is great
December 1, 2014 at 12:23 am
There sure was a lot of hype leading up to this game’s release. Watching this reminded me of the original Unreal. You guys should play that… btw, thanks for always giving us new videos.

If you guys have a 360 or PS3 handy, I would be interested to see you guys play Doom 1 or 2 in the Doom 3 BFG Edition while commenting on how it compares to other versions, especially the PC version.
December 3, 2014 at 6:42 am
I probably would think if they were going to play Doom, they would either play the SNES version, CD or 32X (I forgot which) version, or the 64 version. Not trying to rain on your parade, buddy, but I’m just saying my personal belief in probably what’s going to happen.
December 20, 2015 at 7:22 pm
No doubt guy, I got Doom it’s on sega’s 32X, commenting on a newer port they might as well be playing the computer version…
December 1, 2014 at 3:08 am
Whenever I see people get frustrated with this terrible game, I can’t help but to remember the quote from the controversial teaser poster for this game. “John Romero’s about to make you his bitch. Suck it down.”
December 3, 2014 at 10:17 pm
Well he made us all his bitch alright.. bitching about his shitty game..
December 1, 2014 at 3:11 am
Doom definitely has this game beat. Same for Duke Nukem and Serious Sam on N64. Now, if Daikatana wasn’t a pain in the ass to navigate and had blade wielding monkeys like in Serious Sam, then it might be okay… Nah, it would still suck.
December 1, 2014 at 3:24 am
Oops, my mistake. I was thinking of Serious Sam on the Gamecube.
December 1, 2014 at 3:32 am
you must get the brutal doom mod , it is awesome. so much gore
December 1, 2014 at 4:00 am
Wow, this should of been a AVGN episode, this game is horrible.
December 1, 2014 at 7:51 pm
I agree. I could do without these videos. I’d rather have one or two AVGN videos every month than four of these. They’re just filler to me.
December 1, 2014 at 5:58 am
“We just had to look it up and we figured it out.”
If you had to look it up, then you didn’t figure it out…you looked it up.
December 1, 2014 at 12:25 pm
wouldn’t the button mapping have been in the manual?
December 1, 2014 at 6:33 am
Ah… I feel like this would have made a great AVGN episode… Oh well.. Still, I’m happy you guys reviewed this shitload of fuck.
December 1, 2014 at 7:11 am
You gotta love what James has created, from his own talent and hard work!
If you wanna support another indie creator and play a silly little fun game, grab Barfly from GooglePlay. It’s free!
[Apologies for the cheap plug but you can’t blame a guy for trying :)]
December 1, 2014 at 8:19 am
However I say that Turok (N64), Goldeneye (N64), and Perfect Dark (N64) were just as good as Doom.
December 1, 2014 at 8:54 am
How did those doom sound effects go?
December 1, 2014 at 9:15 am
Daikatana was already the shits on PC but the N64 version was even more horrendous due to awkward controls and low resolution textures.
Is there any chance of a video where you two play the Brutal Doom mod? I’d even gift you Doom on Steam if you haven’t got it!
December 1, 2014 at 10:15 am
No matter where you go or what you do you can’t avoid the ceiling guns. You know what that reminds me of?
December 1, 2014 at 10:19 am
Well, now… this is certainly a surprise. Daikatana is considered to be one of the worst games in existence – the N64 version is surprisingly good, considering it was ported from the PC (its base platform).
December 1, 2014 at 11:42 am
Mike, music you put on is really awesome. what is it?
December 1, 2014 at 1:21 pm
glad yall made it through the door lol. That game wasn’t colorful at all. Too dark all around. Didn’t look too fun. Glad it’s Monday and it was good to hang out with you again James and Mike. Loved the video. Doom is a classic. Daikatana ehhhhh not so much lol. YET ANOTHER game I have never heard of. Love how you guys always find the gems. LONG LIVE JAMES AND MIKE!
December 1, 2014 at 1:25 pm
I <3 Doom too lol. Thanks for the New Video James and Mike. you guys make my my Mondays not shitty 😀
December 1, 2014 at 3:44 pm
As the AVGN, I’d love to see a round up of power ranger games, most if not all of them are terrible, particularly power rangers lightspeed rescue for the N64!
December 1, 2014 at 5:54 pm
I’d rather have a horse kick me in the balls than play this fucking game. This is the reason why I hate N64. It looks like fucking ass!!!
December 1, 2014 at 6:22 pm
You guys should definitely do Forsaken 64 for one of your J&MM’s. That game was awful. I’ll donate my copy if you need it.
December 1, 2014 at 6:53 pm
Wow, so this game is already bad on PC and the video is about the N64 port… it’s like puking over diarrhea. Good job guys.
December 1, 2014 at 7:35 pm
This makes me glad I bought a PSone over an N64 back in the day.
December 1, 2014 at 8:09 pm
What the F? I mean fuck! lol nice save James.
December 1, 2014 at 9:27 pm
Good ol N64. The graphics have a certain, shitty charm to them.
December 1, 2014 at 10:54 pm
who says this cant be a future avgn episode? its not set in stone
December 2, 2014 at 9:41 am
I wanna see you guys play the Turok games 😀
December 2, 2014 at 2:37 pm
You didn’t even get to the awful parts. This is only bad. It gets WAY worse. Horrible, in multiple ways.
You are only scratching the surface. Like looking at the start screen of Dr.Jekyll&Mr.Hyde, or something.
December 2, 2014 at 3:48 pm
I just downloaded it, cause old memories are a little faded.
You got it easy on N64, you are spared from the worst enemies in FPS history: frogs and mosquitoes. Fucking MOSQUITOES. But it’s only fair, they are hard to hit with mouse aim, it would be impossible with a controller… Also, the levels are bigger on PC.
December 3, 2014 at 3:44 am
hey guys keep up the good work for these awesome videos!
December 3, 2014 at 3:46 am
John Romero did levels for doom and quake 1 then was fired. Daikatana initially used the Q1 engine but switched it to the Q2 engine but the game was still a bad failure. Ion Storm lost millions and had to shut down. Hopefully Romero never worked again after that.
December 3, 2014 at 5:54 am
Hey James and Mike. I´d love to see you play the Golden Axe series someday. Golden Axe was kinda the Double Dragon of my gaming days and as far as I remember I did beat it which was kinda hard. Also like the unique things in this game like riding those monsters and beating the shit out of those little blue and green guys to get food and magic bottles.
December 3, 2014 at 5:58 am
btw, why the new logo ? to match the early 3D graphics of the N64 or is it an overall new version of the Cinemassacre logo ?
December 3, 2014 at 6:47 am
Fuck this game. I played this after I played beasts like Hexen and Doom, and this shit was straight doodie. Doom bodies the rest. Hexen was pretty legit just cause it was different in the setting of it. Been a fan since 06, hard to believe I’ve kept up for almost 9 years. Keep at this shit bruh.
December 3, 2014 at 7:36 am
Come on Guys, please review Tom and Jerry house trap for ps1. that was a game we had alot of fun with.
December 3, 2014 at 7:45 pm
Wow 🙂 new Cinemassacre logo :O so glad I caught that! ^^
December 5, 2014 at 1:30 am
N64 gave this game a really bad name, You guys should REALLY play this game the way it was meant to be played, on the PC 2-3 player coop i dont know why you dont have old pc/dos games with all your retro stuff, it was clearly a part of gaming history right? BUT anyways the games actually pretty good, lots of enemies leveling system, secrets that you need extra players for, 3 Player coop!! crazy shotgun jumping lmao like rocket jumping but with an auto shotgun, n64 just wasnt ready for this game thats why it sucked on it, imean the game would of been alot better on sony playstaion or sega saturn because those consoles had network adapters to play coop controll would of probably sucked ass still, so in short ofcourse it sucked on the n64 no network play or even splitscreen like perfect dark, bad controll ect dont know why so many people hate on a underrated pc classic just because they made a bad port for the n64. )= DIAKATANA4Life
December 8, 2014 at 9:11 am
lol no it isn’t. Nice trolling attempt. It was beyond horrible on PC and the PC release is why Ion Storm lost millions of dollars and had to shut down. One of the worst games in history.
“underrated pc classic” lol yea then why did zero people play it and every professional reviewer gave it a bad review not to mention so did the people. It came out and flopped hard enough to kill a mega company, why do you think anyone is going to believe your trolling on here?
December 6, 2014 at 1:19 am
Great review guys! Lol, such a bad way to crouch in this game
December 8, 2014 at 5:35 am
I’d love to see you two play rogue legacy that game is so hard
December 8, 2014 at 9:45 pm
The GBC version of Daikatana is excellent. It plays like Legend of Zelda.
Daikatana starts out bad, but I found it to be somewhat enjoyable thanks to the story. Also the game has a nice variety of locales.
December 12, 2014 at 7:06 pm
Love this! I also like the DOOM cameo at the end. With source ports, one can now look up and down. But yes, DOOM has it all right, and Ion Storm’s Daikatana had it all wrong.
December 20, 2014 at 10:34 am
We know on which show this will end up…!
March 24, 2015 at 12:19 pm
Hell, the worse aspect I’ve always heard from this game is the shitty A.I. character that accompanies you later. So while you guys put a toe in the shit pool, it is a lot deeper than what you just experienced.
April 30, 2015 at 2:51 am
love how THE DOOR became a episode of Seinfeld lol “Well you gotta get through the door right?”
October 26, 2017 at 10:16 pm
Nice one. Wish you guys talked about the infamously troubled development of this game though.
