  • October 27, 2014 at 11:00 am

Ever played Street Fighter III Turd Strike?

I think Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts might be the easiest Ghosts ‘n Goblins game?

      October 27, 2014 at 11:07 am

Wow you guys are playing a very tough game I beaten it then found a ton of secret cheats powered up to the gold suit and took down the final boss!
and Super Ghouls and ghost come from from the Sega Ghouls and ghost so I guess Nintendo said it needs a sequel and there they got it lol but ya it’s pretty much like an updated Ghost and Goblins game and rocks!
Looking forward to seeing Part 3 Mike and James!
I enjoy your Monday videos and all AVGN video’s as well and Mikes videos as well :)!
      Great job keep it up!

I’d love it if they did another fighting game on J&MM! They could even do Smash Bros. Wii U when that comes out.

  • October 27, 2014 at 11:08 am

LOOOOl … get the bow… hehehehe
took me a long time to finish this(properly)
    You got far!
    nice vid!

  • October 27, 2014 at 11:12 am

That last weapon was simply… amazing.

I LOVE James & Mike Mondays btw. Keep up the great work guys

    October 27, 2014 at 11:19 am

Mike, James: Are you guys aware you can use charge attacks with the green armor? The scythe is definitely the best weapon in the game when combined with a green armor, as it pretty much destroys everything on the screen when charged.

      October 27, 2014 at 11:22 am

      Sorry, my bad ๐Ÿ˜€

    • DoctorColossus

      October 27, 2014 at 3:16 pm

The green armor only gives you an enhanced weapon. It doesn’t let you use magic. Also, the scythe is one of the worst weapons in the game. It does have descent magic, but without the gold armor, it’s useless.

  • October 27, 2014 at 11:22 am

Ah, so you’re gonna beat it once then use a code for the last boss. I can’t say I blame you guys, that’s the only way I’ve ever beaten this game. I wanna beat it the right way at least once but I don’t have the patience.

I was laughing my ass off at all the angry outbursts…sounds like me when I play this game! Still a great game though..

  • October 27, 2014 at 11:23 am

    • DanteAlexander

      October 27, 2014 at 11:52 am

Nice to know I’m not the only one. I was actually yelling at the screen with them.

    October 27, 2014 at 11:50 am

That damn tri-blade strikes again. I swear that thing has to be a joke weapon. Maybe Knight Arthur wants the baddies to die of laughter? *shrugs*

Hold the fire button with the “green” armor to charge up! Dammit!

    • Internoob

      October 28, 2014 at 1:55 am

Nope. Only the gold armor, the third tier, has charged special attacks.

It’s not Han solo Ford’s character that keeps warm with the guts isn’t it Luke Skywalker? Not a complete star wars nerd thats what I remember is that right or was it Harrison that breaks it open to save luke now i dont remember I’m sure you guys are right

    • Weldin Dunn

      October 27, 2014 at 2:42 pm

Crossbow is by far the most versatile weapon. It’s fast and covers a lot of airspace, which is really handy because there are so many airborne enemies (especially Red Arremers) and so many levels have an uphill kind of terrain.
Torch does more damage, but you have to get really close and know how to use the ground flames to do deal damage efficiently so unless you are a speedrunner it isn’t that great of choice.

I played through the game last year after the arcade versions of original and the sequel and have to say this one isn’t that great. The levels are way too long (especially the gimmicky stuff like the sea level), you don’t have 4-way shooting and double jump feels more like an excuse for all the pinpoint platforming stuff in few levels.

  • October 27, 2014 at 5:21 pm

Iยดd have given up on this game a long time ago, so kudos to you guys, especially Mike, who was doing excellent for the most part. I looking forward to part III!

  • October 27, 2014 at 6:33 pm

Bummer got to wait a whole other week to see part III ๐Ÿ™‚

By far the hardest game in the Super Nintendo library. Just watching this video makes me mad.

  • Ben_from_G-town

    October 27, 2014 at 8:37 pm

That video was great. I could feel the frustration just watching. That last weapon… oh man. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • October 27, 2014 at 11:09 pm

This shit is WAY harder than the NES one. After many years I finally beat it recently. The full 2 run win.

  • Don Skiver

    October 27, 2014 at 11:29 pm

Jesus. You guys plowed through a couple levels and then got stuck on that last one…that’s gotta be frustrating as hell.

  • scronan

    October 28, 2014 at 5:31 am

I feel your pain, guys. The only way to survive this game is get a good weapon, get the Gold armor and magic blast the shit out of everything and never get hit. Looking forward to part 3!

Great SpeedRun of this game with some great commentary as well.

  • October 28, 2014 at 5:01 pm

Awesome video as usual! Would be awesome if Swampthing for the NES is the next J&MM game, fits the Halloween theme perfectly! If you love Bart vs. the Space Mutants, then you love Swampthing ๐Ÿ˜‰

Love these videos. Please do a play through of Cho Aniki on PSone. That would be super keeeeewl.

  • October 29, 2014 at 5:24 am

james and mike haven’t mentioned the HORRIBLE controls in this game. you have no control over the jumping. you press the jump button and then you completely lose control of your character. Not only that, the enemies spawn randomly. Sometimes they spawn directly on top of you.

  • October 29, 2014 at 6:35 am

For some reason i’ve recently not been able to view videos on the sight. I haven’t had any problems previously, just in the last week or so. I use Chrome, and i’ve tried disabling all ad blockers, but still no videos. Any idea what might be wrong?

  • October 29, 2014 at 7:13 pm

This was uncomfortable, awkward and cringe-making to watch. I really start to wonder why I appreciated James Rolfe’s work some years ago.

  • October 29, 2014 at 7:15 pm

  • October 29, 2014 at 7:23 pm

Don Skiver You ever played this? Has anyone a fucking clue what they talk about? NO, because if you had you would not give them the cult following they have. I started to appreciate James Rolfe’s work years ago (noone likes Mike) and rediscovered my fascination for Horror and Video Games….and if you are a bit into that you start to see how they have good points, but don’t deserve any of the following. Why? They have a good quality in video, but are fairly…well…yeah average…to put it mildly. Maybe I am just angry with myself for spreading the word about them, thinking this is great..but fact is: the ONLY thing that makes them different from any other guy out there playing those games is that Mr Rolfe has some idea about making videos. I mean seriously: a lot of things they say are making a lot of people face palm…..I appreciate their work, they give a lot of impuls for others…..but Ghouls and Ghost is really not their thing…really..

  • October 29, 2014 at 7:28 pm

*sigh* I got lost…anyways if you blame the controls and “random spawning of enemies” (“help, I am dumb!”) you have no idea. If you don’t see how to play this game: you have no idea. Horrible controls? Yeah I lost it because of you fucknuts…but sure not in this game.

  • October 29, 2014 at 7:47 pm

OK, now I sat through the whole video and it was VERY painful. If you don’t have any remote idea of the game you talk about: don’t talk at all maybe X_X I am a too big fan of that game to not be insulted by their ignorance.
