Excellent work. You’re a inspiration to all aspiring film makers.

I can’t stop talking about how much I love the movie! I saw the 7:30 NYC screening and I was smiling from ear to ear from when you guys walked on stage to the Q and A afterwards. I wish I wasn’t so nervous to ask a question but it was so cool to finally see you guys in person! The AVGN: Movie was the only film I looked forward to all Summer . I’m looking forward to the Blu-Ray DVD release! I’ wonder if you can wear out a Blu-ray Disc? I’ll guess I’ll put that question to the test. Congrats again on an awesome movie and I’m looking forward to what’s to come!

The funniest movie by far! I have never laughed so hard in my life! Just goes to show you don’t need Hollywood and all that high tech shit to make a funny movie. You are the biggest inspiration to me. No joke, your movie is a 11/10 on my list. I can’t wait until this comes out on DVD. My brother and I played old video games when we were kids and your movie brought back all of that joy. Best movie I ever saw. You win!

I really want to see the movie too, James, and I look forward to it. I live in South Louisiana which made it an over 10 hour drive to either the Dallas or Atlanta screening. You inspired me to buy a Sega Genesis last month too. So I’ll be playing “Batman Returns” while I wait. Love your videos and can’t wait for the return of the Nerd.

    August 18, 2014 at 10:34 pm

I can’t wait to see this movie, James! I’ve been so pumped since the very beginning, and now it’s only 2 weeks away!! :D:D:D

I’m very glad to hear you’re going to be spending more time with your family, and I’m very much looking forward to seeing more webvideos…AND MONSTER FUCKING MADNESS! YEAH!!

  • Movespark

    August 18, 2014 at 10:35 pm

You showed the movie on Blu Ray? How does that work? That should a bonus feature, how you did that.

P.S. Empire Strikes Back was independent.

    • Lukas Sprehn

      August 19, 2014 at 7:25 am

Most theaters have Blu-Ray players available. Also, it’s true that Empire Strikes Back was independentely financed by Lucas and distributed by a company that wasn’t really mianstream yet, but I’d say it’s still a different story, since Lucas himself at that point was a world famous, mainstream director 🙂

There are some device that record directly to BR, so I would guess that’s one way, Another is offcourse to burn it to a BR disc, wich is the most likely way he did it…

Great movie, great person, lots of talent. I’m glad to hear you’ll continue making web content in conjunction with your movie projects. I’m sure a lot of your fans will be there to support all of it.

    August 18, 2014 at 11:02 pm

Why did Rolfe start saying “Um” after every single word? Who told him this sounded cool? ANNOYING AS FUCK.

    • August 18, 2014 at 11:33 pm

What do you expect, it isn’t scripted.

      • DavidB

        August 19, 2014 at 12:48 am

lol that you claim people need a script to avoid “um” fifty times per minute. Rolfe just started speaking with this phony cadence in the past few months because jackoffs told him it will make him seem “authentic”.

      • August 19, 2014 at 1:25 am

        Would you prefer a “uhhh”?

    • August 21, 2014 at 4:06 pm

Um…Um…Why don’t you show some respect ? say i’m sorry and post with your brain or what’s left of it next time.unbelievable.

    August 18, 2014 at 11:06 pm

All my friends will meet at my house and we will see your movie together . Duisburg in Germany loves you !!!!!

  • August 18, 2014 at 11:11 pm

Hey James! I’ve been an AVGN fan for maybe 3 or 4 years now… and I just wanted to say that your work and passion are inspiring. I live in Mexico, so I’ll have to wait for the digital download to watch the film. Anyway, keep it up and keep making films!!! You have some fans south of the border 😉

  • Devin Hipp

    August 18, 2014 at 11:39 pm

Drove 6 hours from Pittsburgh to see your showing in Philly. It was awesome and definitely worth the trip. Very cooling seeing you and Mike there, it was an unexpected and awesome surprise. Good luck with your future projects, I can’t wait for this years monster madness!

Hey guys, I’ve been at the first international screening at Montreal with kevin Finn, I wanted to ask a question that I forgot to ask… After all this time, have you been able to receive any sponsorship from rolling rocks? Anyway, nice job!

  • Tim Harrod

    August 19, 2014 at 12:07 am

So you’re turning your back on the fans to spend more time with your family? You SELFISH SON OF A BITCH!!!

Thank you… this has been my idea of comedy. Chase every dream, James!

  • windrammingroadkillskunk

    August 19, 2014 at 12:11 am

The DVD sounds like it’ll be awesome. And I agree that it would be ridiculous to start working on a sequel that can match or top the original considering how ambitious the original one is. Be glad that one Nerd movie got made. That’s what I say.

  • Rick

    August 19, 2014 at 12:14 am

Screw being dramatic 😛 I fucking love you, James. I’ve said you’re my hero (IN PERSON AT THE NYC SCREENING) A thousand times, but it’s just so damn true 🙂 You turned my damn world back right-side-up and gave me hope. Thank you so much…

  • Rick

    August 19, 2014 at 12:26 am

ALSO your next movie should be your ‘SCARY HORROR MOVIE’ That you eluded to. I’ve ALWAYS wanted to see you do a serious, scary film. (Blue Hole is my favorite Cinemassacre film ever)

  • LAXerton

    August 19, 2014 at 12:31 am

My sincere Congratulations James!! Not so many people may have the honor to say: I’ve accomplished my whole life dream. After this will come great accomplishments. I also really hope that the digital version would come with ALL the special features you’re planing!!

  • August 19, 2014 at 1:41 am

Gotta love you James. I think a lot of us can connect with you. Keep going with this wave.

  • JayRam

    August 19, 2014 at 1:42 am

As much as I am looking forward to owning a copy of AVGN on blu ray, what is also exciting are the possibilities of your next movie. I’m hoping it’s sort of like Legend of the Blue Hole/The Twilight Zone-ish. Hell, even a straight-up horror film would be cool.

Anyway, it’s cool to see you achieve your dreams after many years of hard work.

  • Ben_from_G-town

    August 19, 2014 at 1:45 am

Sounds great, James. The DVD and Blu-Ray is what I’m waiting for.

  • Tross

    August 19, 2014 at 1:50 am

Look on the bright side James. You see the light at the end of the tunnel, and you’re almost there. Then you can relax, and I can’t wait for you to get back to your old routine of AVGN episodes. Spending time with your daughter should take priority anyways. Are you seriously going to plan another film? I’d understand if you never want to do one again. Filmmaking is your passion though, so I’m sure that helps a lot. If you do another one, you’re probably better off waiting at least a good while though.

  • Hunter Wilde

    August 19, 2014 at 3:26 am

I nearly pissed myself laughing. It’s a brilliant film all around. It really shows you had the fans in mind and being able to meet Kevin, as well as other fans just made it an even crazier night then I expected. Oh, and I’m glad you’re releasing a soundtrack ’cause those tunes are badass!!

  • joshseb05

    August 19, 2014 at 3:31 am

So proud of you James. Been watching your videos since ’06 and am really looking forward to the new film. Great job, you fucking nerd!

  • Legato32x

    August 19, 2014 at 3:33 am

Hi James. I don’t comment on here often but I wanted to say I saw the movie in St. Louis with a friend and it was one of my better movie experiences. The crowd was great and really into it. One guy dressed as the Nostalgia Critic and when he came in a fan dressed as AVGN screamed “Critic!” and stared him down. It was a funny little moment. It was very funny and it’s one of those movies that’s fun to keep as an indie in your back pocket to surprise your friends.

I’m very proud of you for fulfilling your dream. It says something that a person in this day and age can go and use all of his passion and heart and work tirelessly to achieve that dream. Dreams can be so bold they are terrifying but you wrestled your own fear and stress to wake up from your dream to see that it has become your life. Bravo. I myself would like to become an author and write a book and the bravado you show in these updates makes my will spark up like a new flame.

Thank you for always being so entertaining and creative. I wish you luck with your work ahead and know you’ve got a DVD sale with me buddy. 😉 Best wishes.

  • August 19, 2014 at 4:26 am

Any chance that the movie will be streaming on Netflix?

    August 19, 2014 at 4:29 am

James – Sorenson Squeeze is a good program for compressing large files, I use it a lot for really large videos. Also you can google search for bit rate calculators to help with the problem.

  • August 20, 2014 at 1:41 pm

Awesome James. You have lived like a Windrammer as you’ve fucked. Really glad that you completed your project. It must be really awesome having people like LLoyd Kaufman as inspiration as well as a mentor.(BTW He was great in Gaurdians of the Galaxy.) Keep up the good work my friend.

  • Daniel Karlsson

    August 20, 2014 at 2:41 pm

    August 21, 2014 at 9:39 pm

This is how it all started. You just mentioned a possibility of a second movie. Yes anything can happen but this how the first movie happened.. a single possibility that came to reality. After everything settles down enjoy time with your family. You deserve a well needed rest period. But hey if you ever have an itch for a second movie scratch that mother fucker. You got all the support from me and everyone else. Thank you James for spreading smiles and laughter in me and everyone else. Thank you.

  • August 21, 2014 at 9:55 pm

For everybody that is complaining about the monster madness or AVGN. Give James a break, he just made a REAL MOVIE! James I hope you take the vacation you deserve. The true fans will be waiting whenever you are ready!

    • Shannon

      August 22, 2014 at 11:27 am

He also said in the video he wants to spend more time with his daughter… He deserves a vacation. I don’t mind waiting for new stuff. We still have James and Mike Mondays and maybe (hopefully) another YKWBS coming soon… I still don’t mind the wait though.

I’m excited for the online release. I work at Korea Boards Games, South Korea’s biggest board game company. We’re a bunch of fuckin’ geeks. We’re planning a party to watch the movie together once it’s out online.

We’ll film it and I’ll send it to you guys!

  • August 22, 2014 at 4:28 pm

I will buy it as soon as I can on Blu-ray and I Tunes. As an Hulu Plus user I hope one Digital options is Hulu; By the way yes Hulu Plus has alot movies in fact over 2,000 movies; how ever unlike Netficks you have wite longer then 28 days after the Blu-ray release..

  • Otowi

    August 22, 2014 at 5:07 pm

Talking of digital release… Does this include Netflix and others like it? VOD is not really a big thing here in Norway, so something along the lines of Netflix would be great.

  • August 22, 2014 at 8:12 pm

I can’t see it…even though it’ll be in my state. It’s sold out, I had NO idea it was being screened in my state until I just looked at the list, but as always I’m too late. So now I have to wait I don’t know how long for the dvd release….so ya I’m a bit pissed off about that, especially since the screening is not even that long….it ends next week in my state. Sold out of course.

  • August 23, 2014 at 3:52 pm

In six years, you will be forty years old. Too old to convincingly do AVGN episodes. Too old to probably give a shit about games. No matter how you slice it, your fame as the AVGN will end in six years. So what will you do now? Keep spending eight years on every movie you make? Clock’s ticking, James. Only a matter of time before it runs out.

  • Xen11

    August 24, 2014 at 11:07 am

    James, fucking congratulations!!!!!

Imagine if you just woke up from a coma and these past eight years was just a dream. How fucking cool would that be? The important thing is that you had this experience and nothing else matters. Perception is reality.

Suggestion for the Bluray: Freddy Got Fingered DVD probably has my favorite special feature that I haven’t seen anywhere else: An audience audio track. Tom Green recorded the audio of the audience at a premiere of the film. Since its a comedy, it was wonderful to feel like I was watching the film with an audience (at home). It would be amazing to have multiple audio tracks for the AVGN Movie.

I have this trilogy of films planned in my mind. I also have the posters, trailers, and advertisements fully imagined. It would ideally benefit from being released next year because it is a time specific film. But its a pipe dream for me. The best I can do is pitch it to a studio that would not have my interest at heart, especially to allow me to direct what I’ve written.
So to see you accomplish a dream project translated to reality is truly inspirational. Thank you.

    *spits soda in surprise*

    Bear. Frakking. McCreary.

    That’s awesome.

  • August 29, 2014 at 6:24 pm

JAMES can we pay with google wallet or some other forms and methods for your movie? Cause paypal is just a piece of crap when it comes to their policies on account security and such. Really I mean seriously now you need to register in order to put your credit card info on to getting stuff from your site. ITS BS and it should be looked after for another payment method. I choose google wallet.

  • September 1, 2014 at 10:26 am

For some reason I never saw this video when you posted it, James. And I am one of your fans who checks your page daily. One thing you should learn from all of this, I would think, is to not over-work yourself. Just do what you can, and be sure to be around your family as much as you possibly can because you can never get the time back you lost. I cannot wait to see the movie tomorrow. It’s going to be an awesomely good time for sure! 😀
