Really hope it comes to St. Louis as well!!! Not many chances to go if you live in the midwest.

    • barlitone

      June 11, 2014 at 7:39 pm

It’d be cool to see a movie like this at the Hi Pointe.

    • Don Skiver

      June 12, 2014 at 7:01 am

You’re telling me, buddy. I’m in Kansas City, and every screening is *at least* 8+ hours away.

      • June 13, 2014 at 1:11 pm

Ditto man. I live in KC as well and I would love to see it without having to travel too far.

      • June 15, 2014 at 9:24 am

I live over in NC and unless I waste money I don’t have on plane tickets, there’s no way I’d be able to see it. Tennessee would seem like a good middle ground for some people living near the middle of the East Coast, despite all the mountains it has.

      • Sombrero Chicken

        June 15, 2014 at 5:54 pm

I think more than enough people would show up to the KC one. Plus, a lot of other areas in the midwest would be able to come that are too far from any other premier. Hell, we have the theaters that would do it too.

      • June 17, 2014 at 4:13 pm

        Yes! Please come to KC!!!

      • Brandon Pontanillo

        June 19, 2014 at 10:34 pm

dude i don’t wanna be meing but i’m from mexico and it takes me 2 days to get to USA and im wiling to that just to watch this bad ass movie

      • June 20, 2014 at 9:02 pm

Hell I live near Marquette, MI…nothing near here, unless you count Chicago…which is 8-9 hours away.

      • L O'S

        June 28, 2014 at 9:30 am

I’m from Australia – every showing is at least 13 hours of plane flights away from me. Except I’ll be in NYC visiting family on August 8 and it’s all sold out! If anyone has tickets they can’t use and want to sell, email me at [email protected] please!

      • andrewcounty

        July 7, 2014 at 12:45 pm

Considering everything is selling out I really think there should be a screening in KC.

      • Nathan B

        July 28, 2014 at 1:54 am

I live in KC too! Represent! We really need a Kansas City premiere. We have a pretty appreciative AVGN audience as well as a large indie-film scene. I know I would be able to go with at least 5 friends.

      • August 19, 2014 at 1:24 pm

        Kansas City!

    • Ryan Cleary

      June 12, 2014 at 7:43 pm

Just hop on a plane and go see it in another city… :/

      • July 14, 2014 at 8:02 am

      • Nathan B

        July 28, 2014 at 1:02 pm

Hopefully some day I will have money for that.

    • June 12, 2014 at 7:44 pm

Same here buddy. I’m in Farmington, and at least I could get to St. Louis if there was a screening there. Can you imagine seeing it at the Fox Theatre?

      • flynn60

        June 12, 2014 at 8:24 pm

Even just at the Tivoli would be awesome. Anywhere in St. Louis would be great.

    • voltronface

      June 12, 2014 at 7:47 pm

Also really hoping for St. Louis

    • June 14, 2014 at 7:52 am

Just another guy from St. Louis, hoping for a screening! I want to see it in a theatre! Make it happen, James!

    • Davoo

      June 27, 2014 at 9:52 pm

Hey hey, I was gonna make a comment about how he ought to bring one to the midwest, so I’m glad the first comment covers that! Yeah like I said in the last comment, if you can just squeeze out a screening in Iowa, you’d be putting a screening in range of the last stretch of the country that wasn’t covered yet. I think.

I know for a fact that I’d be going to see it if it was in any of those states. I’d be willing to drive even 5 or 6 hours to see it, just not 8 or more. I just don’t want to have to rent a room is all.

    • flynn60

      July 7, 2014 at 11:20 pm

Thank you so much for bringing the film to St. Louis James! I can’t wait to go!

    • Charlie Cope

      July 8, 2014 at 4:30 pm

I feel you, there was only 1 screening in Canada at first, over 6 hours away. Then James added one in Toronto. I managed to grab the last four tickets. So lucky.

    • Michael Taylor

      August 5, 2014 at 12:12 pm

I got our tickets the day STL posted. I’m pretty excited.

    • CartmanKusanagi

      August 11, 2014 at 1:29 pm

I’d love to see it here in Cincinnati myself.

  • June 11, 2014 at 1:08 pm

First? Oh man I just saw this and bought tickets immediately!! I live in VA now and moving out to CA JUST IN TIME TO GET TO THE HOLLYWOOD PREMIERE! SEE YOU THERE!

  • Lucas Mehero

    June 11, 2014 at 1:10 pm

Are you going to be available for autographs, pictures, etc? I sure hope so!

    • Mehero

      June 11, 2014 at 1:19 pm

Already bought the tickets for Los Angeles btw!! Super excited!

      • Lukas Sprehn

        June 11, 2014 at 2:52 pm

I’m, excited as well. I’m 99 percent sure that I’ll be taking the trip to the U.S. at this point. So I bought my tickets for the Los Angeles premiere as well. I didn’t get to chose seats and rows though. James, is that because we will chose our seats once we are there?

    • Jimmie

      June 11, 2014 at 2:18 pm

      that’s what i wanna know

      • Lukas Sprehn

        June 12, 2014 at 11:57 am

Maybe it is because I bought it while I selected my country as “Denmark” which is my actual country. Maybe I had to chose “United States” in order to buy proper tickets? I hope not! Because that mean I blew 40-something dollars on something I can’t use. But I bet it’s just because we get to chose our seats when we are finally there. James, can you explain how this works for us?

      • Lukas Sprehn

        June 12, 2014 at 12:17 pm

I just looked into it, and it says that it’s “First serve seating,” which actually do mean that you get to chose the seat and row once you are there. It’s first come, first serve for seats 🙂

      • June 13, 2014 at 12:29 pm

Lukas, that’s actually how all movie screenings are here in the states. (I’m aware it’s different in other countries.)

  • Thifurious

    June 11, 2014 at 1:22 pm

Got tickets for Phoenixville! The trailer premier was awesome. I can’t wait to come back.

  • June 11, 2014 at 1:26 pm

    See you in New York!

  • Pablo1989

    June 11, 2014 at 1:39 pm

    Hi James!

Im not from US, but i had older cousin in Chicago, and i see here Chicago had two apparences in same day but diffrent hour, can you tell me why ? unlike others had only one apparance.

    • June 11, 2014 at 1:52 pm

Hi, it’s a smaller theater. So two screenings.

      • Pablo1989

        June 11, 2014 at 8:07 pm

Tnx for info :D, ive hope he gonna watch it on first turn.

      • June 14, 2014 at 2:35 am

Speaking of smaller theaters, James. my city of Cedarburg, Wisconsin has a really nice one called the Rivoli: http://rivoliofcedarburg.com/
The Rivoli Theater first opened in 1936. It has a classic art deco exterior and is run by the Cedarburg Landmark Preservation Society (Yes, I know we are basically Stars Hollow from Gilmore Girls). Anyway, Cedarburg is only 20 minutes north of Milwaukee and I think the Rivoli Theater would love to have both your movie and the hype surrounding it. So James, would you consider contacting them? Everyone in the Milwaukee metropolitan area would love you for it (Myself included).

    June 11, 2014 at 2:01 pm

Just bought my tickets for the world premiere out here in Hollywood, CA. Can’t wait!!!!

  • Django Moore

    June 11, 2014 at 2:02 pm

Are you going to do pictures and signings, and maybe will I get to say hi? Or just a Q&A?

    • June 11, 2014 at 3:45 pm

if noted, there’s Q&A’s, but we can’t say for sure if there will be time for autographs, because we have the theaters rented for certain time slots, meaning we have to be out of there at a certain time.

      • Trenton Girone

        June 21, 2014 at 5:45 pm

James, one dream came true for me, and as of the San Diego AVGN Movie showings, it will be two? Would you believe me if I said I got to meet Mr. Pat Sajak?

  • June 11, 2014 at 2:12 pm

Come to Charlotte, home of 100% humidity and banks

  • June 11, 2014 at 2:17 pm

I wish there was a Las Vegas, NV screening. Vegas is only a 2 hour drive for me. I’ll just wait until it is released either online or DVD. Congrats Nerd.

  • AbsoluteDeicide

    June 11, 2014 at 2:27 pm

Be there in Waltham August 7th. I just tried showing some AVGN episodes to a friend I hadn’t seen in a long time who had never watched them; it turned into an eight hour marathon. Can’t wait for the movie.

    • itscmillertime

      June 11, 2014 at 4:55 pm

Will you be doing any type of meet/greet/autograph signing in NY? Hoping to get my tix soon, just waiting to hear back from people I have coming w/ me first. Can’t wait man!!

  • June 11, 2014 at 3:34 pm

my friends and I all bought three tickets to the Egyptian theater premiere.

James for the red carpet are the cast and crew the only ones allowed?

    • Lukas Sprehn

      June 11, 2014 at 3:36 pm

I hope that they will be there to talk to the fans as well, if only for a bit, maybe do a few autographs. The same goes for James, Kevin Finn and Sean Keegan though 🙂

  • June 11, 2014 at 3:44 pm

If there are any screenings in the UK I will travel literally anywhere for it… preferably Newcastle though. Please?

Actually I don’t know if this is useful in any way at all, but the Tyneside Cinema in Newcastle usually screens independant films like this. It’s the only newsreel cinema left in England so they’re always showing the things that don’t make it into global cinemas.

I don’t know if there’s any way they would show it or if you can get in touch with them, but just a thought. In the unlikely event that that happens I will worship you forever 🙂

  • neoWhite

    June 11, 2014 at 3:58 pm

      June 11, 2014 at 8:02 pm

Me too, just bought mine for the NYC show. I have never been to this theater before so I’m confused as to why it says to report to: Peter Jay? I’m guessing it’s part of the Symphony Space Theater or section?

      • Shannon

        June 11, 2014 at 9:02 pm

I’m sure we’ll be told once we give our tickets.

Man, I will be at SDCC, but I will be waiting in the Hall H line all night for the Friday panels… I really would love to see the movie, though, since it won’t be playing anywhere else near me (I second the St. Louis suggestion, though!)

  • Ben Folkwein

    June 11, 2014 at 9:58 pm

Hey James, you should do a showing at the Apollo Theater in Oberlin, OH.

  • Sheryl Crow

    June 11, 2014 at 10:24 pm

Aw, no AZ show? I guarantee one of the theaters in Tucson would be willing to show it. Here’s hoping!

  • June 11, 2014 at 10:55 pm

James, why not add a date in New Mexico near the place where they recently dug up the E.T. cartridges. Makes only sense, don’t you think?

  • Jcr3ws

    June 11, 2014 at 11:19 pm

  • June 12, 2014 at 7:45 pm

The Kentucky Theater in Lexington, Kentucky wants in on this action. The Kentucky Theater was 1 of 6 theaters to receive the honor of showing the Original Japanese version of Godzilla from 1954 at the end of June. AVGN would be awesome.

  • Jason Harris

    June 12, 2014 at 7:51 pm

    I am really hoping this comes to Maryland, otherwise I won’t be able to make it to the movie. ;-;

  • simonbelmondo

  • June 12, 2014 at 9:06 pm

You should do something at Gencon! It is a huge gaming convention that would definitely love a screening of the movie and it close to these dates! If you can’t or don’t I hope you get a bit closer to MI then this, would love to see it on the big screen!

  • June 12, 2014 at 9:19 pm

Do u have an extra ticket I can buy off of you???

  • June 12, 2014 at 11:27 pm

Please add a few more shows in California. 30 million people here, only 2 showings? My dad did an independent film with his friends on a budget under $10,000 and they basically sold out two showings at a theater in S.F. I think you can safely schedule at least 2, you’re fucking famous.

  • J1a8son

    June 12, 2014 at 11:50 pm

I would love it if you added a Michigan screening date!!

  • Jordan

    June 13, 2014 at 1:17 am

More shows in SF please? The Castro Theater maybe? It’s already sold out.

  • June 13, 2014 at 3:42 am

Come to Salt Lake City James, it would be so freaking awesome to meet you in person! 🙂

  • June 13, 2014 at 4:04 am

    Waltham is already sold out?

  • June 13, 2014 at 9:39 am

I was so excited to buy a ticket, and I did for the Comic Con showing. Until after I realized the showing is at the same time on the same day as my concert event. What terrible luck I have. Would be great if the time was maybe 5 PM instead, but it’s my fault for not having double checked. :/

I was looking forward to see this movie and meeting James.

  • Ryan Cleary

    June 13, 2014 at 9:45 am

So we are all set to go to the premiere in LA and I just picked up another set for the Chicago show.

  • June 13, 2014 at 10:38 am

WOO! I Can’t explain how excited I am. I’m on East Coast right now and am moving permanently to CA in a month! We are driving all the way across the country.. (in about 8/9 days) and the day we get there we will be attending the hollywood premiere! Freaking amazing!

  • June 13, 2014 at 11:18 am

Crazy. Post just went up about 15 hrs ago. First time i saw it, immediately came here to see that the only screening in PA is actually going to have James there, and its ALREADY sold out. Damn.

  • June 13, 2014 at 12:54 pm

Excited to see the Denver showing! Good work James!

  • Janna MacDonald

    June 13, 2014 at 12:59 pm

Are any private users selling tickets to the July 21 Egyptian Theater showing in LA? I’m willing to pay top dollar. Email me at [email protected]

  • June 13, 2014 at 4:58 pm

Any chance for an additional showing in Atlanta? I really wanted to see it, and I had to wait until today for payday, and it sold out 🙁

  • June 13, 2014 at 5:59 pm

wtf what? THere’s still tickets left? After two days?
Anyway you MUST show the movie around the world. In Europe it should screen in or near every major city. I know there are small private cinemas near where I live – just bring a 36mm print of the Nerd Movie.
and yeah – it should be released in every format that ever existed. Can anyone record CEDs or Laserdiscs? 🙂 I can record Video 2000 in case anyone cares.

Wow. I bought my tickets yesterday for NYC as soon as I saw they were available, and it’s already sold out? Lucky me!

  • June 13, 2014 at 6:59 pm

Question for the Cinemassacre guys: Is it helpful to you folks at all for the fans to speak to the owners of their local indie theaters and request a screening, is it too late for something like that to be useful? We’ve got some nice theaters here in Ottawa (Canada) and the owners are really cool.

    • June 16, 2014 at 1:25 am

Second for another San Francisco screening, or anything in the bay area. I’m actually very surprised how few screenings are available right now.

Los Angeles SOLD OUT! Can’t believe I’m gonna have to call in an industry favor to get tickets to this screening. Welcome to Hollywood, James. It’s official.

  • June 14, 2014 at 7:56 pm

Just come to St. Louis please

  • June 14, 2014 at 8:34 pm

You’re going to PAX & you’re going to be in Seattle. Why not capitalize on your visit & have a screening in Seattle?

    • Mattashell

      June 15, 2014 at 6:52 am

If I understood his big update correctly, he is screening it at PAX, but he hasn’t announced which day. I suppose a day pass might not be too hard to come by…but I’m afraid this will be the thing everyone’s trying to get into.

      • June 15, 2014 at 11:45 am

James mentioned he would be attending PAX, but it was not clear to me if there would be a screening at PAX. What really brings my piss to a boil is that PAX is already 100% sold out. I’m hoping that James will have & attend a screening outside PAX while he’s in Seattle.

      • Mattashell

        June 16, 2014 at 4:54 am

Yeah, I’m hoping that too, and I’m aware PAX is sold out, but from looking around the net, it seems a day pass shouldn’t be to hard to get at a close to decent price. Even so, I don’t really want to attend PAX and even if I did, I wouldn’t count on getting into the screening (if there is indeed one.)

      • Mattashell

        June 26, 2014 at 4:37 am

Well, there you have it. PAX. I don’t really want to go to the expo, especially since I’ll prob end up being turned away from the screening anyway.

  • Hechta18

    June 15, 2014 at 12:48 pm

Can you please add another show in Boston? I just missed out on the Waltham tickets!

    • Kyle Justin

      June 17, 2014 at 12:57 am

There will probably be a couple seats added here. So check back often.

  • June 15, 2014 at 2:01 pm

Put Mother Fucker Mike and Bootsy on the phones and double or triple down on these showings. You want to make money right? All these things are sold out. Try to get a couple back to back showings in some of those places you’ll definitely sell them out again. Every new showing will make you thousands won’t it?

  • Jim

    June 15, 2014 at 6:23 pm

Houston and Dallas…but no San Antonio? C’mon Man!!

  • Alex Hansen

    June 15, 2014 at 8:59 pm

More Atlanta (and other place) screenings please! They sold out so fast I had no time to buy.

  • June 15, 2014 at 11:32 pm

Sadly, i am smack dab in the middle of the country (ks). Cant wait for bluray on surround sound. It’ll be EPIC!!!

  • Dan O'Neill

    June 16, 2014 at 12:31 am

I don’t believe that the Colonial Theatre tickets went on sale AND sold out while I was away on vacation! That place is within walking distance from my house! Damn. :'(

  • June 16, 2014 at 1:28 am

What are the chances of several more San Francisco or bay area showings? It seems a bit absurd that there’s only a single screening out here.

  • June 16, 2014 at 7:29 am

I think it’s really odd that you don’t have a screening anywhere in the northwest (like Seattle). I don’t even live there, but I’ve noticed that anything that’s released on a limited scale typically goes there.

I’ll be going to the NYC one (7:30). I’m used to travelling away from upstate NY since a lot of things don’t seem to come here anymore.

    • Lukas Sprehn

      June 16, 2014 at 11:05 am

He does have a screening in Seattle, however its at PAX Prime, and tickets to the con have unfortunately been sold out :/ He may add a normal screening in Seattle though, who knows? It says in the bottom of the post that more screenigs may be added, like with the extra 3:30pm NYC show that was recently added.

  • Ben_from_G-town

    June 16, 2014 at 7:31 am

Very nice. I am hoping that a date for Austin gets added, because I don’t see myself making it to Dallas or Houston.

I’d really like to see this in the theaters, so I was hoping you’d be able to work out a deal with a distributor.

If not, I suppose I can still see it on DVD or online. Either way, this is very cool to see!

    • Lukas Sprehn

      June 16, 2014 at 11:08 am

It’s be awesome if the film was screened at South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas. But a regular screening that doesn’t require access to the “convention” would be cool too. A screening at Sundance Film Festival would be awesome as well. I’m personally hoping for a Denmark screening at Copenhagen Pix film festival, in out Capital Copenhagen, but that is not likely.

  • June 16, 2014 at 12:07 pm

Great to hear about your movie premiere. I was a fool and forgot to order my tickets in Chicago. I hope you decide to add another day/time. If not, I’ll have to wait for the blu-ray. Just hope my son isn’t born that day.

Okay I’ve got a serious question for everyone: What attire is expected for the red carpet event at the Egyptian? Is it formal evening wear or more like con attire? Any insight would be appreciated!

  • June 17, 2014 at 12:59 am

you should try to get a Fathom event set up with Regal theaters where they show the movie across the country one time. I would love to see you movie in a real theater where it would do a movie like yours pop out. OR at lest do a showing in the Northern VA / DC / MD area.

  • Kyle Justin

I got 2 tickets for the SD Comic Con showing! BUT since I live in LA I was hoping I could find someone to trade for the LA premiere… any takers?

In either case, congratulations James and crew for making this dream of yours come true in such an awesome way. Us fans are beyond stoked to see this and continue to support you for years to come!

FREE TICKET ! I have 1 extra ticket for New York 7:30 for free. I am a 30 years old Canadian guy that has never been to New York. I bought 2 tickets, thinking I could convince a friend to come, therefore I am going alone with an extra ticket. If someone would like to go with me (girl preferably 😉 ) and show me New York for the week-end and recomend me a good hotel I could rent, the ticket is yours. email me: [email protected]

  • June 26, 2014 at 5:30 am

So I totally missed the boat on this one.
If anyone happens to have either a San Diego Comic Con ticket, or either Chicago date, that they would be interested in selling, please let me know: [email protected]

I understand this is unlikely, but we film geeks and nerd fans in SLC, UT would love a screening here. Although otherwise, I admit a boring place, we have quite a large film community (Sundance is here, after all :D) and I would love to see the final result of you and you’re cast and crew’s work on the big screen. Being a film student and aspiring director myself, your journey in getting your feature film made has been an inspiration to me to say the least. Regardless, I can guarantee I’ll be buying that digital download as soon as it’s available. Thanks for all the entertainment and fun times thus far! – Kalablade

I don’t know how I managed to miss the announcement of the premier! Really wanted to go this. If anyone who has tickets to the Hollywood premier ends up not being able to go, please contact me.

  • June 28, 2014 at 12:28 am

This is great news James! Glad you are getting an international release. Too bad I can’t go. It sucks cause I got relatives in Toronto too. I would really recommend this though:
Fathom events allow you to show the movie at smaller local theaters. You can sutomize what theaters you want to show it in so that you can show it in areas where the AVGN is most popular. I will definitely pay to see it if you show it at the theater in West Covina, CA. It has fathom events and I know MANY people that want to see the movie. Just for your consideration. Thanks man.

    • Ryan O'Reilly

      June 28, 2014 at 9:56 am

      Fathom is rather costly, however.

Booking separately is more pain-staking, but far cheaper. Trust me I’d love nothing more than to have James stick it in every big city, but he clearly did his homework and even that wasn’t perfect. He picked Houston but it took a solid week more than all the other screenings to sell out.

I’m sure people would show up to a screening in my area, Las Vegas, but I highly doubt it would sell out. Something like an additional, non-PAX Seattle screening or even a Portland screening would do gangbusters.

I think James is currently tied up right now in making sure post-production finishes, but to be entirely honest (and selfish) I hope the touring process goes by as quickly as possible so he can release it VOD by the end of summer.

      • July 1, 2014 at 1:50 pm

Oh yes I would go to either a Portland or Seattle showing for sure.

      June 28, 2014 at 8:52 pm

I wish they’d do another screening in LA! I’d totally drive down from Bakersfield! DAMN!

PLEASE add some 2nd screenings, you see it has sold out and i KNOW selling out a theater pays for the money you would put down and then some…

  • J1a8son

    June 30, 2014 at 12:12 pm

I think more central USA screenings should be added before more foreign country screenings.

  • June 30, 2014 at 4:32 pm

James can you do a screening in Hawaii and if you can come there so we can meet and greet also good luck traveling to get the movie out.

  • July 1, 2014 at 3:37 pm

Hope you guys consider showing it at the Fargo Fantastic Film Festival for an October showing. With Valleycon going on at the same time, and being on the North Dakota/Minnesota border, it might be a good place to show it.

Would’ve loved to go. And im only 40 minutes away from new york city. Getting this for sure on dvd or digital download though!

no more for tickets for Chicago. 🙁

  • July 2, 2014 at 4:40 pm

I first saw these movie screenings a couple days after they were first posted and San Francisco was already sold out. I hope you are able to get another San Francisco showing. There are so many people in the bay area, I’m sure you could get another San Francisco showing to sell out.

  • July 2, 2014 at 7:31 pm

Hello James I haven’t got a chance to get ticket at NY 🙁 please add more screenings or I can seat at stairways. I want to see you in person, get autograph, take photo 🙁 that I can proud of. You were my inspiration for my video game show at my country. This might be my first and maybe only visit to US. This whole year. I missed E3, PAX.

  • July 2, 2014 at 10:52 pm

It’s a real shame I won’t be able to make it to the Dallas screening on the 7th or the 14th. I have to work those days, and traffic gets kinda crazy in Dallas after 5 p.m. Well I hope they second dates all sell out. Maybe if you do a third on a Saturday I will be there in Dallas.

Hey James, I really hope you can bring a showing to Cleveland or Columbus in Ohio. I’m not sure which theaters are out there, but it’d be close enough to garner an audience to attend. I just hope it’s before August 20th as I start college around that point. Thanks!

James, I think that you should attempt to do a Fathom events national screening. I went to the MST3K screening back in December and loved it. Just an idea, seeing as none of these release locations are even close to me in Ohio (and I would assume many other AVGN fans).

  • July 7, 2014 at 9:54 pm

Hey, get some showings for the DC/VA/MD area. I’ll be there for sure if you do.

  • July 7, 2014 at 10:59 pm

  • akronymn

    July 10, 2014 at 10:08 pm

Any chance for a showing in Indy? Indianapolis and the surrounding are has many venues which would be great for an AVGN showing. The Artcraft Theatre in Franklin, IN (just south of Indy) would be a great place. They had a showing of Back to the future a wile back and it was awesome to see “Back to the Future” displayed on the sign and a Dolorean parked out front. I would love seeing ANGN real big in letters on the classic sign. Another good place would be the Landmark Keystone Theatre at the always busy North Side of Indy. Cheers

    • akronymn

      July 10, 2014 at 10:44 pm

In a few months the Artcraft in Franklin, IN is having a Hitchcock Marathon coming up. If you have an AVGN showing there you may want to want until all the students at Franklin College are back from summer break. It is a block away from campus.

  • July 11, 2014 at 12:05 am

    July 11, 2014 at 4:29 am

Wouldn’t it be easier to reach a broad audience all at one by doing a broadcast through Fathom Events? They could simulcast the movie at the same time nationwide, and it could be a live “event” that you could host as well.

Please add another one in San Diego.

  • July 13, 2014 at 12:50 am

We all know it’s likely not gonna get a European theatrical release, but if you want to bring it to some festivals you should bring it to Lucca Comics & Games in Italy. I don’t know if it’s known around the world, but it’s one of the largest comics festivals, actually larger than San Diego Comic-Con. We did get many preview screening in the festival, like a preview of the first 20mins of Wreck-It Ralph or the whole Thor 2 movie subtitled since dubbing wasn’t ready yet, a full week before it was released in the US.
Also, the festival takes place the Halloween weekend, so it would be perfect!

Strongly consider the Washington DC/Northern Virginia area. There’s plenty of cool independent theaters to choose from and the community would show up in force!

  • July 16, 2014 at 5:26 pm

Fantasia International Film Festival : SOLD OUT for both screenings. (Just went to the ticket booth only to go away empty handed =( that sucks

Oh man…. Long time fan, and I’m from Philly. It’s so disappointing to see it’s already sold out. I don’t know that many people who even know of AVGN down here!

Yo, as soon as this comes up for digital download, I’m going to be all up in it. I will watch it 5000 times. It looks good by the trailers.

Good Job James, been a fan since around 2008, and I’m excited to see your film. Keep it up, Father Nerd.

  • July 20, 2014 at 7:51 am

How about Michigan. Cities like Ann Arbor would be a good place to screen the film

  • July 20, 2014 at 7:57 am

James please try SC, we hardly ever get awesome things down here and it’d be really nice if you’d honor us.

  • July 20, 2014 at 8:03 am

Dude all the show dates are sold out… when a singer/comic sells out this fast they add a 2nd showing I think you guys should do that… I guess the closest one to me would be Boston (if it ever gets there…) You need to be in Boston I’d make the trip then 😀

    July 22, 2014 at 3:33 pm

Sad that there isn’t going to be a showing in Indiana. I understand that there’s not much here and I’m the only AVGN fan I know. Even though I’ve tried to spread the word and all my friends have seen episodes. What makes it really sad is that I know a guy that owns the local theater. I’d love for the AVGN and the guys to come to my home town. I actually might get a chance to party with some real gamers for once. All the same, congrates to James, kevin and the cast and crew of the movie. I can’t wait to see the fruits of your labor

  • July 22, 2014 at 6:59 pm

Cool but do you think you can show it in lompoc

  • July 23, 2014 at 12:55 pm

Any possibility of it coming to Toledo, Ohio? I have no money to do any sort of traveling so that would be awesome!

The film, and the premiere, was fantastic! Great work man. It was also an honor to work with you guys. And to get my very own line in the end credits! Oh boy :O The film was hilarious. Everyone was cheering, clapping and laughing hard throughout the whole thing. It even looked great! The production design based around dated game graphics and 80s B-movies worked so well! Also, Bear McCreary’s score… geez, I can’t wait to buy the soundtrack. I will definitely work with all of you again given the chance. It was also great meeting you, James, and Kevin and Andre Meadows, and some of the visual effects artistst I had worked with on the film. I wish I have had enough time to talk to Sean Keegan and the rest of the cast and crew though, and taken some more pictures, but most people went into the pub next to the main theatre building after the Q&A session, and unfortunately I am not 21 yet. Only 19. So couldn’t enter there naturally.
Also, if you guys ever want a premiere in Denmark, you can just let me known and I can try and figure out something. There are plenty of theatres here that does indie stuff. Like the Grand Teatre in Copenhagen. Or the Copenhagen Pix (CPHPIX) film festival. I also hope that you find yourself a distributor. Someone has to be interested in this movie. Maybe when you premiere it at the Fantasia Film Festival 🙂 Good luck with the movie from now on!

Hello AVGN fans, so up here in canada, I promised to take my son to this movie, saw the NY dates, and grabbed 4 tickets, my friend also bought one ticket. Since then, there is a Toronto screening added, so we are going to see it here instead and save a trip to NY and hotel, and the rest. SO I have 4 tickets, and my friend has 1, so total 5 tickets for NY Aug 8th 7:30pm show. I paid $94 USD for the 4 (including the convenience and processing fee $3 & $11. I will sell the 4 for the $94 USD I paid for them. My friends ticket will also be sold for the total price paid ($20 plus fee) not sure exactly what his fee was, but probably around $5-10 (I am waiting to hear back from him). First person that contacts me saying I’ll take them gets them. I prefer to sell all 5 at once. You can EMT me funds or I can PayPal invoice you for them, once payment is made, I will forward my tickets emails to you, you print them and your going to see the AVGN movie WITH the stars at the screening. email [email protected]

Yes the NYC 7:30 show did NOT disappoint! Wish I could’ve got an autograph but it’s understandable that they only had the theater rented until 10:30pm so time was not on our side for that. The movie was great and look forward to the BD/dvd release. At least I got a high five from James when he came out to the audience! Hoping that video that Mike was shooting ends up on here or the dvd! Me and my bud made it on there loud and clear! Thank you James, Kevin, Mike, and Kyle!! AWESOME night and movie! Enjoy a well deserved break w/ your family James! May success continue to shine on Cinemassacre! FUCK YEAH!!!!

    August 15, 2014 at 4:11 am

SPOILER ALERT! (sort of) Did anyone else notice this comic subtlety: The door-locks for Area 51 open via “rectal” scanners and later in the movie the Nerd discovers that the doors also unlock by inserting the EeeTee cartridges. Get it? Cause the game is such ass! haha, loved the film.

Also, if you look closely in the background of the bar scene there is a Yars’ Revenge cartridge on display behind the bar. I donated the game to that bar years ago, before the movie was even announced! It now appears as a prop in that scene. Hahaha, how fitting!

  • August 15, 2014 at 10:43 am

Just saw the movie last night in Chicago, so much fun. I had never been around anyone who even knew who AVGN was, and suddenly I was surrounded by tons of fans! It was a cinematic experience I hadn’t had in quite some time. When the title of the movie flashed up on screen during the opening credits, the theater erupted in cheers and applause. That is an experience I will not soon forget.

Got to see the screening in St. Louis. Thank you so much for bringing it here. I had a blast, and was not disappointed at all. Good job! This is probably the only movie I’ve ever been to where everyone stayed through the credits and then gave a round of thunderous applause.

  • August 15, 2014 at 10:25 pm

Oh Hells Yeah! Tomorrow: the AVGN movie, Sunday the World! Super Stoked here!

  • August 16, 2014 at 8:00 am

Went to the August 14th Dallas date with my wife and my 12 year old son, who is your biggest fan out of all 12 year olds LOL. He asked the manager if he could have the movie poster that was outside in the case and the manager said “The company wants it back after the event” :/ Broke his little heart, then the manager came out and said that Craig from ScrewAttack was there when they were ready to start the movie, but then it was just quiet, no Craig… he never made it, again it broke my boys heart. Dx . After all that he still claims best day ever, as well as movie of the year! We can not wait to buy this digital and watch it over and over until it comes out physical release, then we will buy the dvd and blu-ray and watch it over and over again some more! Glad to see you realize your dream James, and may your future endeavors be with minimal resistance!

I know this, he wanted the one from the theater to have as a keepsake to frame in a shadowbox to remember the occasion.

Move your ass over to Germany. Or anywhere in Europe. I wanna watch the goddamn movie on the Big Screen.

I second this 😛 Or send the movie to film festivals here, like the Copenhagen Pix film festival in the capital of my homeland Denmark.

I understand if that is not going to happen though. Booking these theaters was probably not easy.

  • August 16, 2014 at 1:05 pm

Congrats on having your movie sold out all across the country, James! 🙂 I’m sure the booking process theater by theater isn’t an easy one. I would have liked to have seen more theaters booked between the 16th and 29th so that even more people could see it in theaters, but I understand why that may not be the case.

I hope to see the digital release absolutely soar in viewership.

Had a blast at the Seattle screening. What perfect timing to have the angry nerd movie playing right next to a new tmnt movie. Too bad they didn’t have it up on the marquee outside. Would’ve made a great pic.

Shout out from Toronto. This movie is badass. I hope you all get to see it.

Had a lot of fun at the Philly appearance. Awesome seeing James and Mike in a surprise appearance since they weren’t listed as coming on the site.

Watched it in Toronto last night. I have to agree with Lindybum, it was badass. A pure fan movie for fans, lots of in jokes and cameos, throwbacks to nerd episodes, everything a super fan would want. Thanks for this movie James, it was worth the wait.

Had a great time in Toronto the other night. It was cool to meet you and your beard, Kevin. We drove in from Buffalo NY. Left around 230PM, got stuck on the bridge and just barely made it. Its an hour and 45 minute ride. We had it all planned out to grab a few beers beforehand, and instead we parked at 6:51 a couple blocks from the theater and just made it! Loved the movie…it was not at all what we were expecting based on the trailers…so much different and so awesome. Can’t wait to see it again!

Watched it last night, and while I love the show, the movie turned out to be a pretty big disappointment. What really kills it is the fact that it’s basically a short film stretched out to a nearly two-hour feature, and given that there wasn’t nearly enough material for that time, a lot of it ends up being really dull. There was a good idea in there, and it was fun to spot the cameos and winks to episodes of the show, but it really needed to lose about 30 minutes in order to make it a much tighter story. I do hope you try again though, just without the unnecessary excess next time.
