Worthless pile of shit… stop doing that, it wasn’t funny 5 years ago and is just trolling now.

      • October 21, 2013 at 7:27 pm

do you even know what trolling means? a Troll is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a forum, chat room, or blog), either accidentally or with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion. Some readers may characterize a post as trolling, while others may regard the same post as a legitimate contribution to the discussion, even if controversial. Like any pejorative term, it can be used as an ad hominem attack, suggesting a negative motivation. try paying attention to the language that we all agreed on.

      • October 21, 2013 at 7:31 pm

Trolling is a game about identity deception, albeit one that is played without the consent of most of the players. The troll attempts to pass as a legitimate participant, sharing the group’s common interests and concerns; the newsgroups members, if they are cognizant of trolls and other identity deceptions, attempt to both distinguish real from trolling postings, and upon judging a poster a troll, make the offending poster leave the group. Their success at the former depends on how well they – and the troll – understand identity cues; their success at the latter depends on whether the troll’s enjoyment is sufficiently diminished or outweighed by the costs imposed by the group. in short, it’s anti-social behavior.

“a Troll is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community”

So, basically, you’re saying that you agree with Jacobward7 that Anthony Abozyid is being a troll, right? It certainly seemed to upset Jacobward7 when Anthony Abozyid posted that extraneous, off-topic “first” post in this online community, wouldn’t you say?

all you guys need to not fight on cinemasacre if you ask me. we all love the same stuff and appreciate james and his work. the ‘reply’ section isnt for trying to act like mr. tuffman. its for feedback to all of our favorite game/movie reviewer! it really bums me out seeing these comments turn so juvenile.

      • Anthony Abozyid

        October 22, 2013 at 3:37 am

        it was just a joke…

      • October 22, 2013 at 10:15 am

Owch….. if I knew you…. I’d dress in a Gorrilla mask, bust out your front window in your vehicle. Then I would take a shit right on your steering wheel so when you try to rush to work you fucking slide around and plummet to your death in an insane shitty head on collision with the EARTH! MOTHER FUCKING EARTH!!! Have a nice day, and don’t say bad shit about James. Or we will all fuck you so Goddamn hard your ass will look like Rihanna’s face after saying some stupid shit to Chris Brown.

        October 22, 2013 at 11:49 am

the reason “first!” comments suck is that the start pointless arguments that waste a full page. very lame, and now I just added to the suckness. great! If I was James I would be annoyed but stuff like this.

        October 22, 2013 at 5:44 pm

@ Lordjason 1986: Next time, Quit when you’re ahead. Nobody (but you), justifies people making the Idiotic Comment: “First”. If you defend such stupidity, you’d better be prepared for backlash.

        October 22, 2013 at 7:14 pm

JAMES AND MIKE, PLEASE REVERSE THE COMMENT ORDER, SO THAT NEW COMMENTS SHOW UP FIRST. That way, “firsters” can get their kicks, and everybody else doesn’t have to waste their time reading “first” arguments whenever we scroll down to read the comments.

      • November 10, 2013 at 1:57 am

Know what’s worse than the “first” comments? The people who flip their shit on it every time like it’s helping…

Just put the comment in random orders (apart from replies). No more first, and everyone gets a chance to be heard. ?

    • Bludman2

      October 21, 2013 at 8:18 pm

I agree with jacobward7 be it trolling or not it is just a waste of the first comment. James and co. don’t want to read that they want your opinions on the video.

      • October 21, 2013 at 9:14 pm

well now think about that statement you just said. they don’t want to read that they want your opinions on the video. well, if they are just going to do what they want, why even bother commenting in the first place to me. seems like a waste of time to me. if you don’t like that person’s comment or my opinion, fine. good for you. it’s the words jacobward7 chose to say to the guy that was wrong. your no better and no different than a common bully or an internet troll if you comment to the guy calling him a worthless pile of shit. you don’t defeat negativity with negativity, and you most definitely fail to make yourself seem smarter if all you do is insult the guy. it’s that kind of language that’s going to eventually get someone like him into trouble. if you didn’t care about my opinions in the first place or even his statement, then how do you represent yourself as being the better man by insulting the guy by calling him a worthless pile of shit? what did that accomplish? grow up.

      • October 21, 2013 at 9:18 pm

the quality of our thoughts and ideas can only be as good as the quality of our language. to some, saying things like that is only words, but to others, they can be ignored or taken too seriously. it’s the context of the language that makes it good or bad. and in his context, it was just plain mean spirited insults. say what you want to the first comment above, but the insults don’t make the situation better and it does not make the other guy any better.

      • October 21, 2013 at 9:25 pm

lastly, if you think James and co don’t want to read his comments or anybodies comments on wanting their opinions on the video, then why don’t you ask him instead? let James & co speak for themselves and see if it’s ok. regardless on what you and I say or what anybody else says, this is till “his” website, and they have the last say in the matter of what he thinks is ok and what isn’t. sure it can get annoying to comment on a video saying “first”, that’s fine. but when someone starts insulting anyoen commenting on any website and starts sending a bunch of hate comments, regardless if the beginning comment & the following insults was made by accident or on purpose, then you better be ready for what will eventually happen. “if you can’t take the heat, then don’t start the fire, or else you might get burned”. do I make myself clear?

      • fata_morgana_pseudonym

        October 21, 2013 at 9:39 pm

Why in the high holy hell are you going so far to defend a stupid, pointless “first” post? If you’re seriously, honestly saying that Jacobward7 responding to the guy making the idiotic “first” post by justifiably calling him a “worthless pile a shit” was in the wrong, then you, also, fit that same description pretty well. If anything, I’m beginning to think that your huge wall of text here, spanning five different replies, defending an asinine “first” post is an even bigger attempt at trolling than even the “first” post itself was.

      • October 21, 2013 at 10:04 pm

@ fata_morgana_pseudonym – are you gonna bark all day little doggy, or are you gonna bite? so what if I defend this guys comment. what do you intend to do about it? complain some more? rant on another website? oh how original of you. one day, you’ll wake up and see yourself for what you really are: a loser. what’s worse: me defending a single man’s stupid comment, or one guy making yet another stupid comment? you think you’re better than me? you are just like every other human being. a few winners and a whole lot of losers. and all of us here fit that category. I have my right to my opinion, even if you don’t like it.

      • October 22, 2013 at 12:51 am

@LordJason1986: You sure seem passionate about defending that first commenter. I mean, seven posts just for him? You’re 27 years old too? Really? To each his own I guess…

      • October 22, 2013 at 1:00 am

@ Mike Gones – it’s not the comment I’m defending, it’s his right to say it. no insult is worth making even for just one simple stupid comment. in either case, it makes no difference. you’re talking to a man who has had actors & actress like his own creations, a man who signs every single petition from demand progress since the Sopa/Pipa bills, & a man who uses his pure anger in creative ways. http://epicjason20000.tumblr.com/image/64751166909
I have not had a good day, and if you don’t mind, I want to end this rather pointless discussion right now. be the better men and just leave me alone.

      • Damian Wayne

        October 22, 2013 at 3:38 am

waste of a first comment? what? i didnt know there was a limit to how many comments we can make!! who cares if someone says first. its exciting when you pull up a video you have been waiting to watch for so long and see that youre the first to watch it! it think its cute, and i really doubt its going to hurt anyone. if its a pet peeve… its ok to brush it off… its really not hurting anyone. now can we all get back to enjoying the videos?

What’s wrong with you?! Because of these walls of the comments you look like an obsessive loser.

      • October 22, 2013 at 1:13 pm

@ Damian Wayne & Tomislav Veljaćić – what is wrong with all of you! I said to please end this pointless discussion. you’ve made your point, so just fucking stop commenting and I’ll do the same. fair enough?

      • MiNdLocK

        October 22, 2013 at 8:08 pm

I find it amusing that the person who was trying to “defend” the original offender turned the entire discussion board into a heated debate and effectively demonstrated himself as the true troll. Well played sir, well played.

      • October 24, 2013 at 4:42 am

Wow. Lordjason1986. What a worthless human being you are. I don’t care if you were having a bad day. Your behavior is like a child’s. Was this truly necessary? You talk about how they should have been the bigger men and stopped responding, but you should have been the bigger man to begin with to realize you were in a bad mood and maybe it wasn’t the time to take it out on people on the internet. Pathetic.

No one cares…. What are you in grade school? You know, that asshole kid who completes their test, or paper, then raises their hand then says “DONE!!!”. It also shows you have nothing else better to do then, sit here on the site, consistently refreshing it around a specific time, so you can get to a freshly uploaded video to paste the word “first” with no punctuation, or proper grammar (Like a child). What needs to be done on this site is the same thing Rockstar games is doing. If you comment about something, it needs to be ON TOPIC! Otherwise, it’s grounds to remove your commenting privileges, or a ban. It would fix a bunch of things, such as people promoting their Youtube channels, or videos for moronic reasons, and would fix SPAM outright which I’m sure James, and Mike are tired of including people like you, or those who outright lie (Watch the James and Mike Play Dr.Jeykel and Mr.Hyde). I hope some change happens soon to rid this site of pointless posts, and morons…

    Hi Brian.

  • videogamehunter820

    October 21, 2013 at 12:28 pm

    HOLY SHIT!!!
I still love this game. It has it’s flaws (LJN of course, and that time limit sucks) but it is a pretty fun nonlinear-style game and the graphics are fun to look at. Sorry James but you made a little mistake. That time/player counter at the bottom is actually time/prisoners. I’m not mad, I just saying (I love ya James). It may have not followed the movie exactly, but I think they were trying to insert Aliens into the game (since it was in 1986 and the NES was in its early years, so we never got an actual Aliens game on the home consoles). Alien Trilogy is AWESOME! Another FANTASTIC Alien game is Alien 3 on the SNES, check it out.
    Great video!!!

    • Radelta

      October 21, 2013 at 1:44 pm

The snes version isnt much better. It just replaces rescuing prisoners with welding doors. Lol. That always made me laugh since they weld 1 or 2 doors shut in the movie, and then the game thats almost all you ever do is weld doors

      • October 21, 2013 at 5:11 pm

You must have played the SNES version for about 5 minutes. There were a number of missions which you could complete. One of them was welding doors shut to seal off an area, but there were others like rescuing prisoners, repairing junction boxes, destroying alien eggs in infested corridors, etc. and you could complete the missions in any order.

The SNES version of Alien 3 was pretty awesome and was a world away from the NES version the nerd reviewed.

      • Radelta

        October 21, 2013 at 5:41 pm

I played it for a bit, enough to fight a few of the queen bosses. I remember there being a variety of missions, but most of them were welding doors shut. Snes game sucked just as bad, pal.

      • Radelta

        October 21, 2013 at 5:53 pm

Not to mention, all the missions are the same except for destroying eggs. Goto room X and interact with (door/fusebox/prisoner) wow, what a variety. I just happen to think of welding doors more often since its actually something they did in the movie.

      • videogamehunter820

        October 22, 2013 at 4:37 pm

I not bad-mouthing you or anything, so don’t get angry. I think it is very underrated. Now what you said is true, there is a lot of welding (doors, junction boxes, fuse boxes, etc.) But there was also hooking up a power source to a generator, saving prisoners, destroying eggs, destroying a queen. The graphics were great (and most were areas taken from the movie Alien 3). The music was fantastic. It had a feel like Megaman where you could complete the missions in whatever order you wanted. It had an easy password system. The controls were great (not as good as Contra but still really good). Instead of having to switch between weapons, each button controlled a weapon ( you could also carry multiple clips of bullets and grenades and had an upgradable flamethrower.) It’s not a perfect game, I know, but considering all the failed attempts at making a side-scrolling shooter, this is one of the better ones. I see your point, so if you don’t like it that’s fine. I still recommend it to people, though. Another thing: it has Hudson say “GAME OVER, MAN” when you die. That’s awesome!!!

  • GenesisNerd

    October 21, 2013 at 1:37 pm

The graphics on this version of Alien 3 are abysmal, Alien 3 for the Sega Genesis was quite good as far as that was concerned but the ASSNESS that game contained was just inhumane. I find it quite interesting the game does have a ton of similarities but a different company made it!! No rainbow of death attached!

  • October 21, 2013 at 3:17 pm

awesome job James. what a cool surprise for Halloween. however, I do have only a couple things to point out that I must address.
#1 – the SNES port was way better. I wonder at times why you only look at the NES versions of some games while they tend to be better on the SNES. just like when he pointed out how bad Hook was on NES when again it was way better on the SNES.
& #2 – here’s a strong suggestion James. if you truly hate LJN that much, then why not make the next review based on them to see if there is any good LJN games out there. I think it’s about time to really address to them directly and see if there are any good LJN games out there. and believe it or not James, there are some good LJN games, just some. the first one everyone tends to like, including myself, is Maximum Carnage. True Lies on SNES, WWF on Genesis & SNES, The Punisher on NES, Alien 3 on SNES, Terminator 2 Arcade on Genesis & SNES, and others I have not mentioned.
maybe instead of dragging this LJN hatred out even further, why not just simply make the next episode about them and address some good games under their wing James? I think it’s time you address them and move on because it’s getting old really fast. that’s my suggestion James, make the next episode based on LJN. that would be epic!

  • Squall85

Don’t forget Turrican 3 (or Mega Turrican). And there was Alien Breed. And Tower Assault. The best alien video game I’ve played was on the Commodore 64. Every level was different. With flying through rings, protecting marines while they cut through an iron door, finding the little girl and finish the alien queen… Such a great game that was.

this game really has some of the best music and yeah the gameplay is trial and error but it’s different in the very least. pretty ok for an ljn game.

Now James, I really Love You and don’t wanna break any joys or anything… But.. this was one of the shitty games I have tortured myself as well as a kid, with really long sessions.. Actually the “Pr” at the bottom of screen does not tell You how many lives You have… It IS the remaining prisoner count. Pr = Prisoner. The thing You are bitching about all video, in front of your eyes… And also, You should have shown the other levels in more detail, they actually do look nicer and made me kinda like the game as a kid. Now I agree though – it’s goat puke..

  • SoTH

    October 21, 2013 at 4:50 pm

Or they could have changed the genre too. Not all games are action games. Could have been an adventure horror game, like Clock Tower on SNES.

  • SoTH

    October 21, 2013 at 4:54 pm

Actually, there is a prisoner count. It’s flashing alongside the time, the Pr. 03 thing.

  • October 21, 2013 at 4:55 pm

Another terrible episode, he’s clearly playing badly just for something to complain about, it clearly alternates between time left and prisoners remaining in the display, terrible.

    • SoTH

      November 6, 2013 at 11:45 pm

Playing badly just for the hell of it? You certainly picked the wrong game to say that to!

Loved the Nerd review (as always), but I wish he had checked out the SNES version at the end as that was a pretty good game and fixed a lot of the issues he brings up with the NES version (Doors could actually be entered, there was a map screen, you had the ability to fire while climbing ladders, awesome graphics etc.)

The SNES version was developed by Probe and was basically a completely different game (even though it was published by LJN )

  • slientkill

Actually, there kind of was an official Aliens game for the NES.
It was an unreleased Famicom Disk System version made by Square, but it was a port of an Activision game for some computer system. So, don’t expect it to be anything actually good.
Just the first youtube link on the game

Another great episode. But Alien 3 the movie was pretty cool, even if is not as good as the 2 previous movies. I never played the NES version, but I do played the SNES game, and it is one of my favorites on the system, great atmosphere, excellent graphics and a really fun game.

I played alien 3 on the SNES, and besides the end (which they DID get right in that version) it seemed to have NOTHING to do with that movie, if anything it was more similar to Aliens what with the thousands of monsters and tons of weapons you could use.

This episode was OK but not great, he didn’t sound angry enough and relied on too many sex jokes, but I can understand James has been awfully busy working on Monster Madness and the AVGN Movie, not to mention he now has a daughter to take care of. So at least, in all this chaos, he was able to release an AVGN Halloween episode.

Since the Angry Video Game Nerd is a character does this mean that he actually knows you James? It would be fucking awesome to see you do a collab video of some kind! Would be awesome if you could get the Nostalgia Critic in there too. How about an AVGN’s Birthday episode, in which we celebrate the AVGN’s birthday by giving him the shittiest games that there is? Or would that be too cruel?

Oh, now I remember this piece of shit. I remember my wasted weekend, when I was a little kid, and forced to play this garbage. Well… instead of doing this, I threw cartridge away and played whole weekend good old Battle City and bootleg copy of Kyatto Ninden Teyandee (known in U.S. as Samurai Pizza Cats. Actually a great Famicom game. To bad, they never ported it to U.S. and Europe) and New! Ghostbusters 2 (yeah, I’m from Europe, so we had that game instead of american shit).

  • khimera609

    October 22, 2013 at 8:27 am

I’ve played this. Didn’t thought it was that bad… didn’t thought it was good either. The aliens are not a problem, not even the (lazy) bosses. The problem is finding the prisoners and your way out within the time limit and having enough ammo to kill the bosses. It’s exactly like a memory test and, once you know where all the prisoners are and where the aliens spawn, you can just breeze through the game. This game could have been a lot better. I was kinds proud of myself for finishing it.

  • October 22, 2013 at 8:33 am

Alien 3 on the Sega Magadrive was rather enjoyable though.

The second I saw that Ljn logo…cold sweat ran down my face and i had a panic attack…easily the scariest thing ive seen this october..

  • October 22, 2013 at 5:14 pm

This game is just a crappy port of the SNES version, which has some of the same flaws, but it came off as pretty scary and dark to me at the time.

Alien Trilogy is just a first person shooter which walks through the entire trilogy of movies, the cut scenes make almost no sense. But the music is good, and the sound effects were awesome. Not to mention the atmosphere was great and it was fantastic to play on a dark night, lots of jump scares, because there wasn’t an overabundance of aliens/enemies like in the other games.

I will NEVER talk shit about AVGN because if I had to name the absolute hardest working (and nicest) person who develops media of any type on the internet it would be James.

And (most of) the rest of us do nothing.

That being said, was it just me or was this episode like an AVGN episode all coked up?

It was like his hosting provider was almost out of space and requested he keep it under a certain time AFTER he wrote the script.

Take any AVGN episode’s content and reduce the episodes span by 1/2 and you’d have this.

I would say that it’s because James is so busy, but like I just said, he put a lot of content here, it just was compressed into a short period of time.

Unfortunately, a lot of the comedic timing was lost because of it. But hell, LJN should be happy they even get a mention at all at this point.

(‘fun’ fact: Until AVGN, and even after I grew up and knew it couldn’t be right, I pronounced LJN like ‘lynn-gin’ for some stupid ass reason.)

  • October 22, 2013 at 10:38 pm

I am a long time fan of your work and a new member here on cinemassacre.com. This video was a great surprise to see after viewing the reviews of the Alien movies. I felt there could’ve been a lot more to this review but that very well could be because of your insane work schedule. It was still pretty cool to see since you previously covered the first two films on Monster Madness.

I’m not sure if this has been asked previously, but have you ever played the SNES version of Alien 3? It was actually a pretty decent shooter, not like the genesis or nes versions at all – surprisingly enough made by LJN as well. Its same platforming shooter type game only with great graphics, good controls, a variety of different areas to freely explore, different missions to choose from, an intuitive map screen, and awesome music. I would say it almost in the same league as classic SNES games like Metroid, but definitely nowhere as perfect. I think it could be game worth covering though, maybe the next James and Mike Let’s Play? Its one of the very few movie to video game adaptation that was actually done a good bit of justice… and by LJN? – Who would’ve thought? Though that could be just what the 6 year old version of myself thinks lol. Keep up the good work. Cheers!

When are you going to just make an LJN video?? I’ve been expecting one for awhile now because it just seems like the next logical step, but it hasn’t been done! I know it must be torture, but you should just get it over with and make an LJN video. I hated LJN ever since I was 7 years old. Time to make them pay.. Go ahead and tear them a new asshole.

  • October 23, 2013 at 12:02 am

Loved the bit at the end where you reenacted the movie’s ending. Nice blue-screening!

  • greedo

    October 23, 2013 at 12:10 am

I’m right with you here, James- there really isn’t that much to go on here. The movie is a colossal letdown. But as you pointed out, it wasn’t all Fincher’s fault. They took the original concept- and his ideas- and shot them down. I remember seeing a doc on this where one of his associates had to console him because he was so furious at what the studios did to the film.

Have to disagree with you on the Ripley scene. I don’t think it’s particularly courageous on their part to kill off Ripley. It comes off more as an act of desperation by the producers to salvage something from the film. Interestingly, enough the original concept had Ripley landing in a monastery, and having strange things happen. And as the deaths mounted, Ripley would have been blamed for it. That would have been a far more interesting film than this farce.

Oh, and one more thing- Interestingly, enough, the plot of Alien Resurrection originally was going to bring back Ripley, and pretend than none of the events of the previous film existed. (Ripley was to have been in a coma, and thus dreamt the whole thing). Looks like even the producers of that film didn’t even like Alien 3! 🙂

  • October 23, 2013 at 1:09 am

Avgn dude you gotta play ILL BLEED for the dreamcast since its almost gonna be Halloween!!!

  • October 23, 2013 at 1:10 am

    Good Look finishing Monster Madness!

  • Smokingspoon

    October 23, 2013 at 1:37 am

Well you know, I think Ljn Often had the Follins brother making music for their games. Those brothers… real pioneer! Not only did they make good music on the nes and previous game consoles, they manipulated the sounds and raised the standard of good 8-bit music in a way that almost no one else did.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they gave a tutorial on videogame music (back then) to other musicians like Koji Kondo and Nobuo Uematsu.

  • October 23, 2013 at 1:49 am

It’s always a pleasure to see a new Nerd video. It’s great to see someone who knows what it’s like to suffer through these games, cause back in the day, this is all we had. It was either this or replay one of your good games, like metroid. It was so dissappointing, when you’d be all hyped up about a movie-game, and get this assholishly bad game. Adults would usually get these for the kids to cuz they don’t know they’re shit. Anyway, Rock on James!

    October 23, 2013 at 8:28 pm

Alien 3 is one of the worst movies ever made and the worst videogame along with the nes terminator. They could have done it with one alien no problem. Friday the 13th has one main enemy and other sub enemies that have reasonable explanations in the instruction manual and fit into the game and roll together with Jason and the exploration element to give you a very fun and incredibly difficult experience. Face huggers and some other enemies that would naturally fit would have been much more fun to take down working your way to the insanely hard alien. The sound is garbage too james I disagree that it’s good it sounds just as jumbled and chaotic as the terminator music and the game itself only has like 3 tracks.

    1. First time I was shocked to see Alien 3 for the SNES, which i considered to enjoyed a lot a years ago… Well, I’ve never knew this games was ever existed!!! What a piece of crap
    1. “The game does not hold your hand…. Instad, it reaches down, grabs your dick and jerks you around… LOOOOOOL”
    2. The Monster Madness promo jokes are funny too jaja, but there’s no need of a promo for me, I’m a fan of Monster Madness too James/Mike! 🙂

Definitely one of Probe’s better NES games, to be fair. That’s not saying much but I think LJN published all of their games on the NES. I have to agree with James on the music. Probe and Beam (another dev LJN published) both did music right.

    October 25, 2013 at 12:10 pm

I never even knew there was an NES version of Alien 3, but I had the Genesis version, and it looks like it was pretty much a watered down version of that. Interesting that the SNES version was completely different than both of those.

    Hello from germany nerd!
But i have to say…way are ur videos since rob..so unnatural?
I really love the natural nerdcharakter from the early episodes. But since ur movie…u got much more in to the “acting”. Ur swearing is so…not real. u try hard to entertain, but i think u need a more..y, cant point it out enough: natural approach. Just do it. tell me what u think of this game. Dont try to make an “Episode” with punchlines, effects, twists, whatever. Dont go in like “its a real pice of shit AND MAKES ME ANGRY TO MY BOILING POINT!!!”. Just play and let u enroll with ur thought. Sry, i am really bad to descripe what disappoint me…but i hope u get some of the idea i am talkin’ about…love my old nerd..

    • December 2, 2013 at 2:43 pm

Hello! I am also from Germany! And I don’t freakin understand what you are saying. way=why? ur=you’re? But I love your “… love my old nerd …” That’s somehow going down the windrammer-lane.

Just so you know, no Nerd episode ever except maybe the first couple went without a script. I agree it could have been better, but he has kind been long separated from the Nerd episodes. I think after this video is where he started to turn it back around, Tiger Electronic Games and Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing were reminiscent of the quality of the early episodes, with the Tiger games maybe even better.

  • October 29, 2013 at 6:55 am

I dont know, you’ve changed man. With your new HD-camera and hollywood experience your last 5-6 episodes isnt that funny at all. Its like youre just putting up episodes because you have to and not because a game is particulary bad and you want to review it. I think you should go back to your old style if you wanna keep all your hardcore fans…

Does anyone know what game the song at the very end of the AVGN Day Dreamin’ Davey video is from? I can’t place it for some reason…

  • October 30, 2013 at 6:23 pm

Loved the episode! I thought the LJN logo was gonna bust out of the Nerd’s chest.

    Alien = Alien 1
    Aliens = Alien 2
    Alien 3 = Alien 3
    Alien Resurrection = Alien 4
    Prometheus = Alien 5
    Prometheus 2 = Alien 6

  • November 15, 2013 at 5:42 am

Dude, the face huggers from Animaniacs for the SNES looked better than that. Granted, it was 16 bit, but it was a goofy sci-fi spoof!

  • penpan

    November 21, 2013 at 8:43 am

LJN?? NO! Loved the ending 😛

  • December 2, 2013 at 3:00 pm

Except it’s a shameless cinemassacre-Halloween-commercial, it’s really good and funny and entertaining, with all those redlights and soundFX. And dick jokes.
Isn’t it amazing how bad those Alien-Games back then were, and still are? It’s totally true that the better Alien Games than the actual Alien Games were those which ripped them off! Like Contra and Metroid.
I played Alien 3 on the Gameboy which was a total JOKE compared to Metroid. Playing Metroid, Contra and R-Type gives me much more of a feeling like playing an alien-game than the shitty so-called “alien” games on nintendo.

  • December 11, 2013 at 1:00 pm

Have you seen this years Ninja Turtle Halloween special . It was a parody of the first Alien movie. LOL!!

    December 21, 2013 at 10:07 pm

I never considered this before, but I guess the Japanese Famicom controller also has the English letters A and B on it, which is pretty weird. I don’t know why they did that, but I presume the reason for the placement of the letters is that Japanese is read right to left. So, to them it would make sense to put the A button to the right of the B button. Doesn’t give any excuse for games that make B jump and A shoot, of course. Just something I never realized until now.

  • December 22, 2013 at 9:03 pm

Why, Nerd, why!?! Why would you make a chainsaw come out of your chest for special effects!?!

  • D-Man

    January 1, 2014 at 1:31 am

Watched this again after seeing your movie update

  • January 5, 2014 at 10:55 pm

As far as I’m concerned the only Alien game worth playing was AVP2 on PC. Classic awesomeness at it’s finest.

  • January 6, 2014 at 5:06 pm

Why B and A are turned around is because Nintendo is Japanese and well… The Japanese read things from right to left.
    I hope that’ll summon up.

BTW, thnx for the great vid, it did gave me a good laugh.

  • January 7, 2014 at 1:36 pm

I do like the red strobe light effects when the Nerd sees the LJN logo, that’s a nice reference.

I like how all these R rated movies get turned into video games. Shitty games no less.
