Oh wow, didn’t think that’d go through.

I will never understand why some people feel the need to make lame, pointless “first” posts like this. It’s not an accomplishment. Nobody cares. Nobody will ever care.

      • October 17, 2013 at 12:08 am

If you don’t care, why did you comment? 😛

I agree, the specialty about being first to comment is the chance for people to read the video’s first source of feedback but 99.9% of the first comments per video don’t have anything to do with the video.

Great video James! The mom in the beginning was hot and this looks far more interesting than ‘Gamera v. Guiron’ because of its goofiness (Kid 1: ”He’s doing the Go-Go” Kid 2: ”No he’s not, he’s trying to get those things off”)

I need to be more quiet. I love whenever James finds an explosion scene and yells “BOOM!” I just start laughing. Makes me wanna rewatch that spaceman episode where there’s TONS of explosions and he’s just going BOOM!!! BOOOM!!! BOOOOOOM!!! xD

    • October 16, 2013 at 6:06 pm

Which review was that? I remember it, but I can’t find it!

      • October 16, 2013 at 6:15 pm

To answer my own question, it was Infra-man (1975)

  • October 16, 2013 at 5:49 am

Today is my 24th birthday and i’m watching Gamera vs. Guiron a other MONSTER FIGHT!

  • October 16, 2013 at 6:45 am

Absolutely hated this movie when I was 6. I rented it, thinking it was going to be like Godzilla, and knew immediately that I had made a massive mistake. It’s now one of my favorite MST3K episodes, though.

  • October 16, 2013 at 6:55 am

Honestly James, you should have put the last three into one review because now we are just reviewing the same goofy stuff. That’s why I never liked the classic Gameras. However, the reboots are pretty good.

      October 16, 2013 at 7:18 am

Quite. The 90’s trilogy is one of my favorite “sets” of kaiju films, but the older stuff is just dopey goofball crap.

I agree…James could free up many more days during Monster Madness (thus being able to do the highly requested Friday the 13th series) if he’d just do combo reviews…maybe 6 – 7 minutes a review dedicated to 2 films…the repetitiveness would be shortened and more films with minimal change could be covered…

        October 16, 2013 at 3:28 pm

I like it how it is, but maybe he could take your suggestion and roll all those craptacular friday the 13th movies into one review. they are basically all the same anyway

      • y2j420

        October 16, 2013 at 3:44 pm

The Friday the 13th movies are definitely as varied or even more varied than any of the Gamera films or even some of the Hammer Frankenstein films…

Not one mention of Officer Cornjob? I heard he is a Japanese comedic actor and the glasses slipping down his nose was a signature or something. I loved the MST3K version of this one. So many great lines. For the Caucasian kid’s title credit. “Christopher Murphy? Boy these Japanese have some weird names”.

I can’t tell the difference between this one and the others. Except Viras should have been scary until it spoke. Those “human” eyes connected to that freak body……..

  • October 16, 2013 at 11:03 am

The Gamera series is so awesome!
Heavy metal group Varga made a song based on Gamera!

I noticed one of the Space Girls names was Barbella. “Barberella” came out that same year. Wonder if a coincidence or not.

So Guiron is the monster I remember most from Gamera! Looks like Blade Man’s pet, I wonder if its name is a pun on “iron”

  • October 16, 2013 at 1:30 pm

5th Gamera review and still good. there’s no stopping the awesome train. looking at Guiron, it seems that most of the monsters from Pacific Rim seems to be similar to this monster. it’s also a very good thing that Shout! Factory has revived these Gamera films since they also recently released many other horror classics on dvd & blu-ray including Halloween II, Halloween III Season of The Witch, Psycho II & III, & most of John Carpenter’s films. the Gamera reviews has been without a shred of doubt the best reviews of Monster Madness in 2013. 5 flawless episodes in a row all based on a very interesting topic. well done James, keep that awesome train moving.

Yeah, Godzilla had some silly moments in the 70’s, but he never got this ridiculous! I loved the MST3K version where that kid is constantly wishing for a world without traffic accidents.

That “saw” that Guiron has for a head doesn’t resemble a saw at all, more like a blade.

    October 16, 2013 at 8:24 pm

now we know where Pacific Rim got all their awesome from.

  • October 16, 2013 at 9:13 pm

Great video James! Keep it up man!

  • October 16, 2013 at 9:28 pm

God I love this one. Probably in my top 5 Mystery Science Theater episodes that I based my liking of mostly off of the film itself.

I never really considered Godzilla or these types of monster movies as Halloween movies, but I do enjoy James talking about them and showing us the crazy highlights hahaha!

I keep getting playback issues. It will randomly just cut off and I have to start over. It happens in both HD and SD. Any help would be appreciated. It’s happened with every video on here for me.

    October 22, 2013 at 7:50 pm

Such a crazy movie. Indeed, this is where a lot of classic Gamera scenes come from, and a it was a good MST3K episode, too! But what was up with that white kid? Mixed, maybe? Alien girls were cute, and the fights were ridiculously awesome. Icing the wound, that’s great. And… I didn’t think he weas actually dancing, but the kids just said it right there in the movie…

  • October 26, 2013 at 12:46 am

Its funny, this movie and the last movie had a Western child actor paired with a Japanese child actor. I could never figure that one out!

  • October 28, 2013 at 2:28 am

Gamera! Yes Gamera! Gamera is really neat! Gamera is full meat! We love chasing Gamera!

Imagine being the guy in the Guiron suit, being able to say that you once played a space monster with a giant blade for a head that shot ninja stars out of its temples.

  • January 2, 2016 at 3:03 am

I know I just gotta dance everytime I get hit by half a dozen shurikens…

  • May 6, 2016 at 5:16 am
