    Hey James,

Cinemassacre is actually the only site I follow daily! Absolutely amazing job to keep things running smoothly from year to year. Been following your actions almost from the beginning.

    Keep up the great work!

The best one so far for me, i got mostly scared from The Carpenter’s “thing” because of the crazy effects. But this one could even be better than that.
I mean it in the way i can shit my pants.

  • October 19, 2012 at 2:35 am

Correction, Vipco released it on a region 2 DVD. I’ve heard that the quality is OK but since Vipco closed business a couple of years ago the DVD is out-of-print.

  • October 19, 2012 at 2:36 am

And of course, great episode as always!

  • October 19, 2012 at 2:56 am

What’s up with the Day of the Dead music? Was it used in this movie?

  • October 19, 2012 at 3:41 am

Good point I like the “some things will always be a relic of the past” line at the end. Its absolutely true. DVD and BLURAY can’t possibly catalogue everything. Great review James. The Dr. has spoken.

The fart noises sound like they were added in as a joke by James.
That’s ridiculous it’s even in the movie!

These suggestions are turning out great. I just finished “The Stuff” & “The Deadly Spawn.” This is so much more entertaining than modern horror movies.

  • October 19, 2012 at 6:01 am

It came from beyond the toilet. Thats the fucking name of that movie. God it was driving me crazy that I couldn’t remember it.

Yeah… you can tell this is an 80’s horror flick cuz the main chick character has really big hiked-up boobs, LOL!

Awesome! I have to get this. No DVD? No problem. I’ve got 2 VCRs in my house, and I still have some of my movie collection on VHS.

Time to hit the VHS sections at thrift stores… can’t beat $1 VHS movies lol. I’ll definitely be on the look out for this one.

About Grim Reapers in movies…would the Final Destination movies count? technically the movie’s monster is ‘death’. Also best Grim Reaper ever goes to the one in Cemetary Man.

  • October 19, 2012 at 8:23 am

Awesome video Mr. Rolfe. I wonder if Waxwork will make it in this years 80s a thon.

    WOW! Thank you for posting!

When I was a kid I caught that spider monster scene on TV. The part where it drains the guy genuinely creeped me out.

Now it reminds me a little of starship troopers.

It actually has a DVD release.
    It was released by Vipco.
I think it gets only distributed in the UK.
    Here’s the Amazon.co.uk link.

Just watched this movie, this was not a good movie at all… BADddddddd. Yes, the special effects were cool like James mentioned but other then that it was not a good movie. 🙁

cool review james. multiple monsters in 1 film , you cant go wrong. maybe someday you could review the John Carpenter Un-Official Apocalypse Trilogy ( The Thing , Prince Of Darkness , & In The Mouth Of Madness). I was actually not aware that this film came out the year I was born. in 1986 we had Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 , Friday The 13th Part 6 , Aliens , Short Circuit , Highlander , Ferris Bueller’s Day Off , Top Gun , Platoon , An American Tail , Star Trek IV , Crocodile Dundee , The Karate Kid 2 , Big Trouble Little China , Critters , Howard The Duck , Raw Deal , and many others. speaking of John Carpenter , the other suggestion I have is to do a John Carpenter marathon similar to how you did the Alien Invasion marathon.

I remember seeing this on TV when I was a kid, but I couldn’t remember the title.

  • Firx

    October 19, 2012 at 4:48 pm

Oh my gosh! I never knew the name of this film, but I remember seeing it once, back when I was six or seven years old, on a rainy Saturday afternoon . . . it was on USA, I think. I am now over 30, and the scene with the spidergal sucking the guy’s juices has always stuck with me. Too bad it’s only on VHS!

  • October 19, 2012 at 5:00 pm

Another good one from the oldies from 80s that i don’t remember if i saw on tv,that i am going to search on the net thanks james.

I would just like to let everyone know, that this DOES have a European release (Starlight). Maybe because the movie is Netherlands/USA.

The new Wrath of the Titans had awesome Cyclopse’s (Cyclopi?). The CG was amazing.

  • Ben_from_G-town

    October 25, 2012 at 4:07 am

I didn’t know they made a new Cyclops. Interesting. And by Roger Cormon no less.

This movie looks like it would be fun to watch just for the creature effects. And you’re right about the Grim Reaper being under-utilized. He’s actually used in the Frighteners to pretty good effect. But yeah, it’s odd, especially when you consider that Death is pretty well known.

  • Metal NES Solid

    October 28, 2012 at 12:13 am

I didn’t know death was explosive, thanks James lol

There’s a girl in this named Maria Pechukas. I was really hoping she was the girl with the big . . . pechukas. But, she’s Joan Ellen Delaney.

Sadly, Maria Pechukas died from complications of anorexia 16 years ago.
