I don’t know why, I have a brilliant computer, but my computer takes a very very long time to load any videos on cinemassacre. i.e 10 seconds real time for .5 seconds of video.

On youtube it can load about a 2 minite clip in 3-5 seconds. I don’t know why. Maybe look into it?

You play either MM 9 or MM 10 ? 10 was decent but 9 absolutely rocked. They’re on new systems, but done in 8-bit.

  • July 2, 2011 at 1:33 am

    good stuff mike.

    July 2, 2011 at 1:41 am

I was hoping for more glitches in megaman 3 ):
I found that glitch on geminiman stage myself, but not from the super jump. What I did was I made a slide into the proto man screen and managed to perform a normal jump right when the slide ended. This works every time, just spam jump when sliding.

Gravity is Mega Man’s bitch, Ha HA! Also, I just wanted to say that I have very faint memories of seeing a Mega Man game in the arcade like back in the early 90’s, maybe even the late 80’s. i think it might have been a somewhat different version of the first game. Does anybody else recall this?

    Love this show.

  • July 2, 2011 at 5:26 am

Great new glitches, Mike. I like the new software used for the video today. I have one question. Why does the power on button on your NES Top Loader light up. I have one myself that I still use to this day and it never lights up when I turn it on. Is mine broke or possibly another version of the NES Top Loader? I just found that rather curious about your NES Top Loader.

  • Jigglysaint

    July 2, 2011 at 8:02 am

For the Gemini Man stage trick, what is going on is that when you get to Protoman and the floor thing, the graphics are being taken from Snakeman’s stage. When the thing blows up, it reverts back to Gemini man’s graphics. Also with the whale in Megaman 4, the whale is actually part level data that when destroyed, changes the pallete to make it all look invisible. Finally, the Cossack 3 stage wire trick doesn’t get you stuck forever. If you patiently wait at the end for a long time, Megaman does eventually fall back down, or at least it did when I did the glitch.

  • Sephiroth123

    July 2, 2011 at 8:58 am

Hey Motherfucker Mike. Here is a Mega Man 4 Glitch that I want to share with you. It’s about how to actually KILL Dr. Wily. To do that, first you have to beat all 8 Robot Masters (Rematch in the Castle, not stages) then fight Dr. Wily huge ass machine. When you beat him and he’s about to escape in his capsule, quickly switch to Toad Man’s weapon and use it. It will actually KILL Dr. Wily. But when you use it, your stuck forever and you have to restart the game.

I know there were two arcade Mega Man games in ’95 and ’96: Mega Man: The Power Battle, and Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters. Both were fighting games that were just a series of boss battles featuring robots from Mega Man 1-7.

Okay, I’m seriously not trying to tell Mike his business or anything, but there are TONS of glitches like that in Mega Man 3. I swear that game is even worse than Mega Man 2. If anyone wants spoilers I’ll tell them, but I’d rather leave it for Mike. With that said, awesome video, obviously I love game glitches and this brought back some long-buried memories. Thanks a lot.

Nice work as always Mike, I love Megaman, my favorite series ever =)
The one from Megaman 3 can be done without the second controller, you can just use the slide on the edge of the screen before the one where protoman is, so you enter that section while sliding. Then just before the slide ends, jump to the hole and you’ll fall to the next screen, every megaman 3 speedrunner knows about this

  • RandomDude

You can do the Mega Man 3 Gemini man glitch without the super jump. You slide into the screen scroll and jump at the very end of the slide and you can do the same thing. Here are some other Mega Man 3 glitches.

If you use the super jump, and continue to hold down right on controller 2, you can jump into a pit, without dying. If an enemy flies over you, or hits you in the pit, you will “die”. You lose all you health, but now you are invincible. You can’t shoot unless you use a robot master weapon, OR just have Rush equipped and you can shoot your regular shots again.

If you jump while using Rush Jet, you use less Rush Jet energy, because if you aren’t touching him, it doesn’t count. Jumping repeatedly allows you to get MUCH MORE time with Rush Jet.

In the Needleman stage 2.0 when you cross the huge pit, you can fly along the top of the screen, and grab the powerups at the bottom of the screen by jumping up. The game registers jumps off the top of the screen as “popping up” at the bottom. You can use that to cause the dragon flies to try to attack you at the bottom of the screen as you fly.

You can have all 3 Rush parts after beating just one Robot Master. If you beat Shadow Man, you earn the Shadow Blade and Rush Marine. Then, when you start the next stage, find a weapon energy pellet. Preferably a large one. When you see one, go to the weapon screen, hilight Shadow Blade, then press right. You will hear the cursor move into the blank area where Rush Jet should be. Go back to the main game, and you will see that you are red, and have an empty weapon bar for Rush Jet. Get the energy pellet, then summon Rush Jet, ride it around for a few seconds, then check back at the screen and voila! You now have Rush Jet. If you beat Shadow Man first (no easy task for non pro players) you will have all 3 Rush pieces really fast. Since Shadow Blade beats Spark Man, his stage is perfect as there is a room with large health and weapon pellets early on.

You should do a Pokemon video. There’s all kinds of crazy crap you can do in blue, red, and yellow. They fixed the later ones a little more, especially on the gba games, however there is a glitch with firered called the pokemon league virus. I have no idea what triggers it. After you beat the Pokemon league, someone blocks the door to the pokemon league saying one of the trainers is sick or something like that and that’s when you go to the islands (I forgot what they’re called). But sometimes, the person blocks the door before you beat it, and you have to go around to all those islands and then I forget what happens.

  • July 13, 2011 at 8:37 pm

chris hinders: WRONG. that joypad code for the super jump only works in mega man 3, not mm2, for the NES.

hey mike, love the glitch dedication. not sure if you play alot of ps1, but i recommend studying castlevania sotn, because while many glitches have been exposed in that game, there are others that only i am aware of. for example, did you know it can be beaten without the form of bat? if you mess around with the mist enough you may see what i’m talking about!

Hey James and Mike; you guys seriously should do a Nerd episode that’s an homage to Mega Man. There is no doubt plenty to work with. My favorite Nerd episodes are the ones where you review great game series and just find little annoying things here and there, but for the most part break them down in a positive light. I.e., the Castlevania series, the Ninja Gaiden series, etc … . I can’t believe it’s been over 20 years since i got Mega Man 1 and 2 for like a dollar a piece at a thrift store (these were still new at the time too, go figure). Good luck on everything and keep up the outstanding work. You guys are honestly rare gems and a breath of fresh air.

  • THB306

    January 29, 2012 at 3:39 pm

Okay… Mike’s got all his facts wrong.#1: Mega Man 7 is actually the most popular Mega Man game in the original series, so why the hell did he say ‘Not many people have played this one”?#2: THOSE ARE PENGUINS!!! They shoot lil gliding penguins. What sense does it make for a duck to shoot out mini penguins? IN a sorta-tundra-ish zone!?

The Megaman 2 glitch where you can mess around with the title screen of Airman’s stage is pretty raaad

    July 27, 2014 at 12:35 am

Maybe not a stand-alone glitch but let’s not forget the screechy music when you play Mega Man or Mega Man 2 only with the Game Genie. Shamefully, I used to think the regular music was weird as I used to, sigh, use the GG too much as a weak child.
