    May 6, 2011 at 6:31 am

I sometimes write short stories, and sit around trying to think of an original name for the story. I don’t know if I should feel relieved to know its damn near impossible, or pissed, because now I’m going to have the think alot harder. I guess If I make the titles really really long….

  • Seiryu

    May 6, 2011 at 12:58 pm

James has said that the AVGN is on hiatus for a while so that he can work on other projects and also the AVGN movie. Episode 101 was the last new video for a while, possibly until the movie comes out, so you will just have to live without you “monthly dose” or just rewatch some older videos.

  • Rosaffiv

    May 6, 2011 at 1:04 pm

  • RetroGamerK91

    May 6, 2011 at 3:25 pm

Haha, classic stuff you guys. You two make a great comedic duo. it’s a fun thing to when visiting IMDB, type in a random word or saying and seeing if a movie title pops. If you can stump IMDB, you win! But so far, it’s impossible to win, as billions of movies have been made over the years. Great video, it’s cool to see you do something besides AVGN, even though I love AVGN.

  • straybullet3713

    May 6, 2011 at 3:32 pm

    but, …. Who’s on first?

  • May 6, 2011 at 3:47 pm

Epic short! The two of you guys together are great, so I’m glad to see another short with the two of you just discussing something and making jokes.

This was a brilliant idea. At first I thought it was going to be a little more serious, like a look at some of the strangest movie titles made, but this was hilarious. As soon as Mike starting asking about What, I knew what was happening. It was also a really great string and it almost felt like a natural progression through the different titles and reactions.

Also, the beginning reminds me of “Deviant Art Roulette”, which is where you type a random word into Deviant Art’s search and see how many pages it takes to find porn/furries.

  • StartatZero

    May 6, 2011 at 8:51 pm

I found this hilarious, good job guys. It’s good to see you guys making so many videos together, whether they are for comedy or just remembering old nostalgic stuff, always entertaining.

  • superca.in

you should have searched a movie called turds or twat, i really doubt it exists hahaha

  • Regnes

    May 6, 2011 at 11:20 pm

Want a really absurd name? I’m amazed at how nobody has really made fun of this movie’s ridiculous title.

Precious: Based on the novel “Push” by Sapphire

What a clusterfuck of a name, there have been some really dumb subtitles out there, but this one just takes the cake. It’s like they just had to make sure you absolutely understood the movie was based on a book, and who wrote it, as if it’s critical to the plot that you step aside after each scene and think, “Hmmmm, I wonder what that would have been like in the novel “Push” by Sapphire”

Not only that, you might remember this movie got a lot of major award nominations, and every single time it was up for an award, the presenter would state the entire silly name and somehow not crack a smile.

How about we just go and rename all our movies so we know what was based on a book and what wasn’t, I’d like to go see “The Lord of the Rings: Based on the novel series “The Lord of the Rings” by J.R.R. Tolkien the man who wrote “The Hobbit – The Fellowship of the Ring: Part One of the Trilogy”.

  • May 6, 2011 at 11:29 pm

Really did you guys just do the who’s on first joke? REALLY?

  • Classy Snake

Nice take on a old classic joke.

  • Parry Hotter

    May 6, 2011 at 11:51 pm

I agree with Nileman. Over-the-top hysteria like the original where Abott and Costello both get extremely mad at eachother.

Maybe STANDING UP from the couch for starters! I never get mad sitting down. I’d have been RED in the FACE if I didn’t KNOW JACK about WHAT was going on!!

Hey, you mentioned a filipino film at the end… I’m a filipino actually though I think I never recall that movie from 1991 (maybe because I’m too young to remember it…) So I did a research from IMDb myself and finally remember it….

The original title is “Matud nila” which is a word in “Cebuano”, one of our local dialect.. IMDb said it’s also known as “I don’t give a damn”??? I’m not really sure about that… IMDb probably messing around with the english title…

“Matud nila” means “They say” or “According to them” .. something like that. That movie was pretty much an obscure film in our country. It’s a drama/love story movie, if I’m not mistaken…. but yeah, I’m too young to remember that film so I guess I also don’t give a damn about it (><)

  • bryan1945

    May 7, 2011 at 8:15 am

Very nice! How long did you have to practice to remember all those titles? Also loved how you had the covers/posters popping up behind you. Good stuff! Since I’m literally down the road from the convention, I think I’ll stop by.

  • May 7, 2011 at 8:56 am

It’s old stock music that was used on the “coming attractions” screen before the trailers would come on. It was used in the grindhouse era a lot, and yes, Tarantino used it in Kill Bill.

  • May 7, 2011 at 9:37 am

The first one I searched just in attempt to find a title that’d most likely NOT exist, didn’t.
I searched “Scrotum” (don’t ask why) and I ended up with no movie titles “scrotum”.

Great stuff as usual! I looked for both “tool” and “foil” and only found partial matches i.e. the foil of… or so in so {X} the tool! Tuff game though to look ’em up and actually stump yourself and it’s edutainment from a film standpoint which is why this clips deserves a 4.5 out of YOUR ASS! BTW I played some Campaign 84 tonight OH YEAH! Good times! πŸ™‚ Thanx James and Mike U GUYS RULE!
