James / January 26th, 2011

For those in the Northeast, USA or anywhere that’s getting pounded with snow, give your complaints to mother nature. What is this white stuff you keep piling on us? That’s enough. It’s getting old.

Man, I used to love snow when I was a kid. Getting out of school was the best. Even when I had a job with paid snow days. That was awesome. But now, it just disrupts life. Hey skies, you can take it back. I don’t want it.

I can’t imagine what it’s like to live in other parts of the world that are colder than here. No wonder why all the extreme death metal bands come from the cold European north. They’re pissed off!

Stop snowing! What did humanity do to deserve this?

Good time for this video. You Know What’s Bullshit? Temperature.

    No kidding.

It doesn’t help that some workplaces are really stingy about letting people out early, or giving us any snow days.

“What did humanity do to deserve this?”
Well, they made a lot shitty games. Isn’t that enough? XD

You think you have it bad there? Try living in Canada. Last year we got one snow day, and that was it was -45 Celsius and storming so much you couldn’t see 2 feet in front of your face.

    January 27, 2011 at 1:14 am

“What did humanity do to deserve this?” are you kidding?? mmmmmm… let’s start with pollution, deforestation, bad natural resources management, wars, etc… LOTS OF BAD STUFF TO MOTHER EARTH. That’s what humans have done. Especially in the US.

I’m also in Boston, and I get school off tomorrow…so for now, James, I can’t complain.

  • January 27, 2011 at 1:36 am

I thought one of the perks of living near the ocean was that I wouldn’t have to deal with this bullshit. Fuck New Jersey. It never snowed here when I wanted to stay home from school, but now that I have to go to work it never ends.

    Global warming my ass.

  • January 27, 2011 at 1:55 am

I’m sure I’ll start hating snow when I finally get around to having a full time job which has more than 10 minutes of travel time, but until then, snow is awesome. I hate being outside regardless and like colder temperatures, so it all works out.

  • January 27, 2011 at 1:58 am

Yup and for those of us who live in places that don’t get freak snowstorms but instead experience those and freezing temps on a regular basis it’s not fun. At all. It just makes your life a miserable, neverending, freakin cold piece of crap 🙁

  • January 27, 2011 at 2:02 am

Yup, up to my shriveled dick and balls in it here in NY. Fuck my life.

I live in Singapore and I’ve never seen real snow before. However I’ve seen a lot of rain and the Sun refuses to let the clouds block its heat waves.

  • January 27, 2011 at 4:24 am

I live in Estonia. It is North-East in Europe. Here is snow quite common in winter. Yea, we complain about it, but we still live. This year’s snow record was over 20 inches (50 centimetres) and we don’t have so called snow holidays. Why? Because life in Estonia isn’t easy, but we always survive. Oh yeah and here is freaking cold in winter.

  • Sirius

    January 27, 2011 at 4:27 am

I love snow. Sure, something it’s annoying, like clearing it out of your driveway before you can leave in the morning, but I still love it.

Actually, now that I live somewhere where it DOESN’T snow in winter, I miss the damn thing.

    January 27, 2011 at 4:37 am

Your pleas to the lifeless skies of creation will do nothing, James. When you seek with all your heart the thing that is true and right in this world, He will find and accept you as His son. And He will open the true life and the true wisdom to you through His Word. You need Jesus Christ, the only means of recovery from sin, which rots to no end. Please ask Him earnestly into your heart.

Well, it’s a lot of people complaining about the snow i America. I live in northen Sweden and that’s about the closest you can get to the North Pole, without acually pulling a “The Thing”.
The next time you guys complain about the weather, you should consider Sweden where your shoes freezes to the ground if you stay still for too long and the breath is not only smoke, but freezes, turns into ice and falls down on the ground. Every breath.

    January 27, 2011 at 1:19 pm

  • disco steve

    January 27, 2011 at 1:37 pm

It isn’t all bad, James. In the winter time you can openly walk the streets with a flask of whiskey and no one will give you shit for it, yeah?

  • Bick Benedict

    January 27, 2011 at 1:43 pm

In Summer, people complain that it’s too hot; in Winter, that it’s too cold. Pick one or the other, and complain once. I don’t like when it’s too hot in the summer, but I enjoy the coldness of Winter. So I don’t complain about Winter, so I’m justified if I let loose a gripe when it’s too hot. So you better be loving the 100 degree weather in Summer James, or STFU about it.

  • January 27, 2011 at 1:44 pm

i would love to see snow becouse here it doesnt snow actualy this fall winter we only had a week of cold weather and it wasnt that much like 10 C° min., i live in Monterrey Mexico, its kinda known here couse you can live all the four season and weathers and variations in -ONE FUCKING DAY!- yea man, i feel its more bullshit than all your you know whats bullshit videos together >:(, like, in a day temp. varies from 0 C° to 40 C° in a random order and in the way you had a sandstorm, a storm, dry climate, cloudy, sunny, rain, wind, rainand wind, more hot sun, thunderstorm, icewater, granite and a heatwave in one day!!!! its crazy!

James your snow there is NOTHING compared to what happened here in the UK in December! (minus) -24 degrees CELSIUS! i’m not talking backwards USA fahrenheit here… -24 degrees CELSIUS! 6 foot worth of snow in 1 night, now that really is bullsh*t!

Snow does suck, its charming for like a day then it’s just really inconvenient.
“Crack on mate” as they say here in the UK.

  • January 27, 2011 at 3:04 pm

I lived in central Florida for almost 20 years and moved back to where I was born, Maine, to raise my first son.
6 years, 3 new kids and a great new wife later, oh, and a pile of snow so damn tall you can jump ONTO my roof once you’ve climbed it, I have to wonder what the ass is worse:
A – getting out of work on a June afternoon in Florida and having to AIR out your car because it’s so hot it cooked the inside into a vacuum, or
B – spending 3-5 months in what can only be described as the reoccurring Ice-Stage of life.

We got lucky up here on this one though man, we’re up just high enough on the map to have escaped most of it hehe.

    Drive safe!

  • January 27, 2011 at 5:10 pm

I live in the Chicago area, so I know what you mean. I can deal with the snow and cold during the holidays, but once it gets to mid-January I am sick and tired of it. By February I am on the verge of murdering someone. haha

Although it hasn’t snowed much as much this year, it has been damn cold at times this winter. I shouldn’t speak so soon though because a lot of times we get our biggest snowfalls in Feb.

You know, when I was a kid I used to hate the fact that I lived in California’s bay area where we never see any snow. I grew up only reading about snow or seeing it in movies or on TV, and rarely did I ever get an opportunity to see it for myself. I was so jealous of people living in other parts of the country who got to see it every year… but now, everybody’s complaining about the snow, while I’m sitting here in San Jose where it’s 66 degrees. I guess I’m luckier than I thought.

  • vince_snake

It’s funny to read this beacause I live in Quebec (Canada) and this year, winter is pretty soft on us.

  • headcase

    January 27, 2011 at 6:28 pm

Southern Ontario was in a deep freeze earlier this week, at temps around negative 20 Celsius. Humans are mostly water, and water freezes at 0 Celsius, so it kind of sucks. You know what’s even better? Sometimes it gets to hot in summer, even here! So it’s like, even if you can handle the cold and you move up here, you still have to live with the heat sometimes!

Even still, the weather was on the whole much worse south of the border this week. I have heard of 5-and-a-half hour commutes in Baltimore. Now that’s bullshit.

Not that good weather is any better. Ironically, it’s usually the bright sunny days that are the coldest. So pick your poison: sit around driving a car all day praying you don’t get stuck, or freeze your ass off every time you have to step out.

So pump the heat in your car, don’t go anywhere you don’t have to, get the fuck inside as soon as you can, and hope for warmer days ahead. That’s what a cold snap is all about.

“Space, that’s fine. Time, that’s fine. Temperature, that’s bullshit!”

  • toiletfarm

    January 27, 2011 at 6:54 pm

Never live in the southwest if you hate temperature. Winter is bitter cold, summers are blistering hot, and when the temp is pleasant, the wind is blowing 40 mph. With all of that said, I’m glad I don’t live somewhere where it snows a lot. It must cost people a fortune in heating, massive wear and tear on infrastructure. I feel bad for you northern Americans.

  • Edward

    January 27, 2011 at 7:38 pm

Well, I suppose we could say that Nature is catching up with the commercialization of Christmas/Winter.
Here in Sweden, somewhat below the middle, there was a downfall of snow for one day like a week before Halloween. And I’m not talking about small flurries, we are talking pin-button sized flakes. It stayed on the ground for a few hours, then it was gone.
Then started the normal winter sometime middle to end of November, and… Yeah, still cold enough to keep the snow on the streets, and the ice slowly being salted away, but nothing from the skies since… Last week maybe?

  • TomM

ah ah ah ah, it’s funny how this winter is so fucked up those days… Here in Montreal (Canada), we had only two snow storm since the beginning of the winter. I feel your pain James. I’m putting up with the same bullshit up here in Canada. Up here there’s windchill so cold that within 3 seconds you can barly talk to the person next to you. If I were to go out right now and start filming all you’d see is people running for shelter or people so bundled up that they look like Stay Puft. It’s annoying as hell.

  • Leadcastle

Oooohhh god I feel you pain, James. We here in MA are getting pummled with this shit.

It wouldn’t stop snowing here (where I live) in till March (no joke or over-exageration). So I think we can all agree that Old Man Winter is an asshole! Burr-riffic, man!

  • Schloss Ritter

    January 28, 2011 at 12:56 pm

Funny thing is here in Michigan, we’ve gotten like a third of our seasonal average snowfall. It has been pretty cold though.

  • January 28, 2011 at 1:03 pm

Couldn’t agree more, James! I live in Massachusetts and the snow just keeps on coming every week. There’s so much snow here, wse got no place to put it. there’s mountains and mountians of snow everywhere!!! STOP WITH THE SNOW!

  • ajgenard

    January 28, 2011 at 1:18 pm

I think its hilarious how many people feel the need to claim they have it the worst. 25 degrees or -25 degrees, 3 inches of snow or 3 feet of snow – what’s the difference? It’s bullshit all the same.

  • January 28, 2011 at 1:39 pm

I work in Manhattan and live on Long Island. The snow was so bad yesterday that most of us didn’t make it in for work, including myself. Another lazy Thursday of kicking back, and rocking some games on steam.

Ohio sucks, so let it get pounded. Stupid fvvvvcking Ohio. Just let me get out.

In fact, I hope we’ve screwed up the atmosphere so badly that the whole human race gets snowed to death.

  • CaCtUs2003

    January 28, 2011 at 2:39 pm

Here in Tennessee, it’s still a bit cold out, but it’s starting to warm up. We were getting pounded with the white stuff for a good while, though. It snowed from the tail-end of December all the way through the first week of January and it didn’t melt for like four and a half days, so I can only imagine experiencing that for much longer in the north. It would make me want to punch mother nature in the face and force her to make it a constant 75(F)/23(C) degrees all year round for the next 500 years.

    January 28, 2011 at 3:21 pm

Oh you think that’s bullshit? Rain is bullshit.

The only things that love rain is flowers and ducks and that’s shit you know why, cause after that rain’s done flower shit their pollen jizz all over the place and thats always great and the only thing ducks ever done is shit in the sidewalk and that’s always fun. Duck shit.

But its worse when its freezing rain, oh fuck it when its freezing rain.

You’d think “oh its just rain, its not like its gonna fuck things up” but NO. once that shit hits the floor you’re fucked cause now its ice and now your car gonna slip all over the place, your fucking backyard is icicles and tree branches are like fuck this shit and commit fucking suicide on power lines, which means no power.

That’s nice, no fucking power, you’re fucking cold, the streets are fucking ice rinks and you cant even eat beans cause the fucking stove is broken, all from fucking rain.

    And That’s just bullshit.

I’m loving the snow. I’m a teacher and I can’t get enough four day weekends. Parking wars in Philly get pretty ridiculous…

    January 29, 2011 at 8:34 am

kituvan_kiitos: I agree. I rather have snow than rain.

We have had an unusually big amount of snow this winter in southern Sweden (usually just get 2-3 weeks of snow) and people have been complaining how depressing it is. I personally find the thawing and raining, that have been going on this month, a lot more depressing.

    January 30, 2011 at 8:47 pm

Hi James. We’re supposed to get 7-12 inches with this next storm here in Eastern Nebraska. It’s really a bunch of ASS! Haven’t we been dumped on enough?!

  • Sir Sneaky

    January 30, 2011 at 9:36 pm

Hey, if you don’t want that snow, can I have it?

I live in NM where we have in the past gone a few years in a row without snow. We got a pathetic 0 inches last year and only around 2-3 inches this year, which unsurprisingly melted 2 days later.

Once you’ve lived with such little snow for 10 years you’ll find yourself wanting it back. Thankfully i’ll be moving to Washington this summer so maybe next winter we’ll get to see a good amount of snow.

  • TyroneAlfonso

    January 31, 2011 at 12:05 am

can’t complain right now. its sunny and 75 around here these days, perfect for motorcycling… but if its like that now, summer is going to suck balls big time.

you know that feeling of leaving for work when the sun is still down, yet its already hot enough to make you sweat? plus the smog… fuck so cal.

  • Nathaniel

    January 31, 2011 at 2:37 am

I agree James. I live in Indiana so I don’t have all the snow you’ve had to deal with the past couple months but we’ve also been hammered with this stupid cold front that keeps bringing in snow. One cold front after another. I’m tired of it. Also knowing this cold front that is brewing for the next several days is getting me frustrated.

I really hope it’s not like last year where we ended up having our Spring start during the first days of Summer. Now THAT is depressing…ugh. ><

  • January 31, 2011 at 1:32 pm

Montreal Canada here… and this isn’t fair.

Granted we got snow and it’s currently -16 but some parts of the states has gotten more snowstorms and still remain warmer…

What makes me laugh is that I don’t think people in the states equip their cars with snow tires… 😛 Muahahaha

Give us back our snow !

  • SippinCoughee

    January 31, 2011 at 1:53 pm

I looooooove the snow!! It’s the extreme cold and wind i hate!!! But the snow itself…Love it. Snowmobiling is a major passion of mine. Definitely a speed freak, nothing better than knowing you’re gonna die when you hit that barbwire fence! nah, but it really is a lot of fun! And I used to be an avid snowboarder but got a few too many concussions….I’ll stick to my gas powered danger.

  • Arouth

    January 31, 2011 at 3:53 pm

Hum… Actually, this Death-Metal-Band-Pissed-Off-In-Cold- European-Noth theory is quite interesting. And credible. Bodies of people who lived in such temperature get a lot of presure to keep himself warm. It migh be interpreted like a attack, exactly like a constant pinch all over the skin. Then the brain react agressivelly to this attack and gradually affect the mood. And because humanity on society is so constipated by morality and ethique stuff, this agressivity changes in stress, and on, and on… People who keep it cool, on constant winter temperature, mostly drinks all the time. Well… it may explain so many things, don’t you all think?

  • January 31, 2011 at 4:22 pm

I live just outside of boston and let me just say personaly IT SUCKS!!! It is horrible and we are suppost to get like 12 more inches

At least you have warm weather to look forward to, James! I live in the Colorado Rockies; winter is basically the only season XD. Ironically, in a town that’s cold and snowy almost year-round, I’ve never had a snow day in my life, for school or a job. I can dream, though, can’t I?

As usual, your YKWBS videos are the shit. Seriously :).

  • January 31, 2011 at 9:13 pm

How Ironic is it that I made that post last week about not having that much snow in the Chicago area so far this year, and now we have a blizzard bearing down on us ready to drop anywhere from 18-24 inches of snow according to reports? They are saying it could be the biggest blizzard in this area since 1967…I don’t often believe in Jinx but something like this makes you wonder.

  • Dirty Jared

Wow, I just realized two things: First, there hasn’t been a Bullshit episode in like 2 years. Second, it’s been like 4 years since I found the AVGN and Cincemassacre. Looking back I see that much has changed in the real world, yet here the past and present co-exist as evolving nostalgia. It’s like evaluating your childhood nostalgia factor while it’s happening.

Uh sorry, I don’t know what the heck I’m saying. Must be all this snow.

i cant stop laughing at all those people who complain at temperatures of 0. in winter its -10 to -25 here, we go to schools, works, wherever and this does not distrup our lives. altrough its been melting lately, we had over 1 meter of snow not so long ago, and yet everyone still got on with their lives.
its not natures fault YOU aren ot ready.

  • Red gamer

No offence to some of you, but you really need to suck it up. Really, having to be in the cold for a few minutes? Having to put up with slightly warmer temperatures then accustomed? The way some of you are going on, if Earth ever has a drastic change in temperature we are all screwed then.

Strazdas got the right idea: Don’t go bitching about it when, if you’re caught flat-footed, its your bloody fault. Sure it may be inconvenient but you got it a lot easier than a lot of people.

Trust me James: it can be worse. ALOT WORSE.

I’ve seen cold so bad that the very tears you shed turn to flesh cutting shards nano seconds before they roll down your face.

I’ve seen winters so punishing that I’ve burned my finger tips just to avoid passing out in a snow bank and freezing to death.

I’ve seen the wrath of blizzards and the frosty sadism of a deathly quiet winter morn’.

I’ve seen man’s greatest machines and accomplishments of science and industry, of capitalist excess and communist fervor, reduced to frozen grave markers and chilled statues.

I’ve seen beasts who were mighty predators and animals who were great survivors lain side by side in a icy sepulcher like paintings in a macabre gallery.

Remember: it can always be worse. ALOT WORSE.

  • themightySNORE

    February 21, 2011 at 3:55 pm

While I do not advocate excessive drinking, I do however find that in the chill of the winter, nothing saves the day quite like a good brandy.

No matter how bad it gets outside, the warm liquid always seems to warm me down to my very toes.

  • themightySNORE

    February 21, 2011 at 4:01 pm

Of course, for those who cannot or do not imbibe spirits, I would suggest honey with warm lemon juice. Keeps you nice and toasty AND also keeps the windpipe nice and protected so that you reduce your chances of getting a sore throat during a critical time.

I find that garlic helps me stay warmer for longer during really bad winters. Maybe it’s just me, but well…every little bit helps, right?

you know, the winter ain’t bad.

the summer? the summer can go fuck itself.

in the winter all you have to deal with is cold temperatures and snow.

in the summer we have ravenous bugs, intense heat, tropical storms/hurricanes, pollen and the smell of people who sweat like pigs and DONT FUCKING SHOWER.

at least in the winter you dont have to put up with that shit.

I live in Chicago, I’m sure you all heard about the whole Lake Shore Drive incident. That snow storm was a bitch. So much shoveling! And they’re saying it could snow more! You’re right, this storm is annoying!

Well, I’m Swedish so I suppose I’m from the “cold European north”.

It’s -17°C right now, that’s 1.4°F for you people across the pond.

It’s pretty cold but not like “Eskimo-cold”.

Oh. Sorry, that’s racist. They want to be called Inuits now.

Anyway, I think the cold winter is a fair trade for all the insects, poisonous or otherwise, that would surely love a warm climate as much as I would.

And of course the sweaty people mentioned in the thinker’s comment.

Karl Pilkington has got a head like a fucking orange.
