Your Fear.net ad is making it almost impossible to click on anything on this page. I had to reload several times before I could even leave this comment and still haven’t been able to play the video because clicking anywhere just opens up a link to fear.net.

The guy sayin’ Monster Madness is probably French. I recognize this particular accent that all my friends can’t get rid of! Excellent MM by the way!

    October 29, 2010 at 3:23 am

Looks cool. Do you know what it reminds me of though? Lucio Fulci’s “A Cat in the Brain.” They aren’t the same movie, but they are similar.

A Cat in the Brain is sort of Fulci’s form of self parody, he plays himself but he’s been making so many gory movies that he starts having hallucinations ala the guy from this film (Though instead of seeing a loaf of bread as an arm, Fulci sees a steak as a woman being cannibalized from a film he was making earlier) and he thinks that he’s a mad murderer when people start dying in ways inspired by his movies. Turns out, his psychiatrist is a sick bastard and is the one killing people.

The premise just seemed a little similar. A Cat in the Brain isn’t for anyone but hardcore Fulci fans and it is a bit heavy on the stock footage, but for fans who know their Fulci it can be pretty fun and they’ll definitely get the self-parody. My favourite scene involves a man who is married to an opera singer who is ALWAYS talking/singing/anything vocal in Operatic Arias. He’s trying to sleep, but she’s snoring in Opera. What to do? How about we smother her with a pillow, and the whole time she’s screaming in Opera. It’s stupid as hell, but funny. x3

I’ll have to check this one out too.

You have got to use the “it’s molestin’ time!” in other videos. Hilarious.

Nice one. I think this review had the best intro voice over so far. It made me laugh, sounded like a french wario.

“Its molestin’ time” – I get visions of a pedo wolverine.

    October 29, 2010 at 3:49 am

I remember seeing this one in the cinema at an all night horror show around when it came out. Was lots of fun. Do remember a scene when he’s freaking out and killing people and the phone rings and he’s like “it’s for yoooouuuuuuuuuu” and bashes someone with the phone.

By the way, I noted that a certain “Gert Fylking” stars in this movie. That’s just so hilarious on so many levels if you’re a Swede.

  • Dannestone

    October 29, 2010 at 4:11 am

Not a great swedish movie but a different one. Its not often we swedes make genremovies. Hope we are gonna follow the trend that happens in Norway and Finland right now.

  • Skeletor

    October 29, 2010 at 4:19 am

Haha how can you have seen this movie, I only thought this one was in swedenonly. I still remember when me and my friends borrowed this one at the videostore in 1995 and just laughed because it was so bad.

    October 29, 2010 at 4:21 am

Nah, you’ll do just fine James, cool good willed people like you don’t get mind warped with horror movies. 🙂

  • October 29, 2010 at 4:46 am

All swedish horror films rule!!!! Except of course for the ones that suck… Which would be every single movie except Evil Ed.

  • October 29, 2010 at 4:52 am

  • October 29, 2010 at 5:45 am

Too bad you forgot to mention the military guy that comes to the mental hospital at the end. Today, he is the front man of a popular, happy family radio program 😀

Gotta have the 3 best quotes in any movie ever. “It’s molesting time”, “Where the fuck is my beaver rape scene?!”, and “Rest in pieces, muhtafucka.” Holy shit! Those evoke some powerful imagery! Keep it up James.

I figured out how to use the site with the ad, but its just fucking insane. remove it please, or at least make it so its only when you click the banners on the side, and not the whole site.

    Right Click the banner
    Inspect Element
Backspace the highlighted words. but you have to do it every page. its annoying but works.

    October 29, 2010 at 1:48 pm

Honestly everyone, I think there was likely something wrong with the on-page ad. Why is everyone so quick to be an a-hole and complain about something you are getting for free. I’ve been going to this site for a while and have not commented on any of the videos until now. I’m sure it takes a lot of time and effort to put these videos together and I look forward to them each day, as I’m sure most of you do as well. Have a little gratitude and a little bit of patience. Even if it was intentional, which I really don’t think it was, it’s a small price to pay.

  • Mathew H.

    October 29, 2010 at 1:57 pm

I remember me and my best friend finding this miovie way back in the 90’s. It was back in those days when you rented movies on VHS 😀
We had no idea there was such a thing as a swedish splatter movie, so ofc we rented it… awesome stuff…

Some trivia if anyone cares. The leader of the commando unit that comes to the mental hospital in the end (“nice bed, nice door, nice shot”) is played by Gert Fylking, a swedish entertainer. He was a close friend to an addict by the name of Christer Petterson, the man who was the lead suspect for the murder of prime minister Olof Palme in 1986.

Just thought you’d like to know

Awesome review, as always. I think I might actually enjoy horror spoofs than horror movies themselves. You heard of “Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon”? It doesn’t seem as out there as “Evil Ed,” but its mockumentary style is pretty entertaining.

  • alskie

    October 30, 2010 at 3:37 pm

Is the backround voice that of Bill Moseley? Ya know Chop Top. Sounds like him.

  • October 30, 2010 at 4:57 pm

This movie is pretty much a reaction towards the censorship off movies we had in Sweden until quite recently. “Statens Bigrafbyro” got the rights to censor the movies as they saw fit. This means that a lot of horror movies were censored in here in Sweden but now you can pretty much find most old horror movies uncut here. So for you who don´t live in Sweden you might not fully understand the joke about this movie. Still it´s fun and i recommend yo all seeing it.

Imagine seeing Ernest, or Leslie Nielsen.. or something like that in something like this, its really hard to melt it, yeah… im swedish..

Anyways, great review, and btw James i hope you are going to do pet sematary in 2011 🙂
