From Hell It Came (1957)
October 5, 2010 at 3:02 am
Good stuff. Thanks, James!
October 5, 2010 at 3:05 am
Ed Wood’s Island of the Ents.
October 5, 2010 at 3:17 am
Ah, B-movies at their best/worst. Honestly I’d say the guy’s shorts at 1:22 are more likely to have come from hell than Treebeard
October 5, 2010 at 3:41 am
This monster reminds me of me.
October 5, 2010 at 3:45 am
Have a feeling this will become the best Monster Madness to date
October 5, 2010 at 3:47 am
Good review, but it seemed like your mind was elsewhere. But hell who’s wouldn’t be this movie seems boring as watching paint dry. Is there going to be a AVGN this month or is that to much to keep up with on top of monster madness, because that is a hell of allot of work.
October 5, 2010 at 4:03 am
loved that BTTF reference at the end
October 5, 2010 at 4:04 am
I love the remark that the only think more wooden then the tree is the actors themselves!!!
October 5, 2010 at 4:07 am
$26!!! I mean, come on, even Universal didn’t charge that much for their early horror films, and they were AWESOME!
At least it didn’t cost $150,000 like that egg salad sandwich!
October 5, 2010 at 4:13 am
October 5, 2010 at 4:22 am
I’m surprised you didn’t use the Clerks II clip.
“Even the trees were walking.”
October 5, 2010 at 4:25 am
No ed wood yet?
October 5, 2010 at 4:46 am
to be killed by a tree is an embrassing way to die.
October 5, 2010 at 4:48 am
Nice Madness videos. I think you might be keeping them a little shorter so you don’t sacrifice quality when reviewing these films. I’d rather them be a little scrappier if they were longer with more content, though.
October 5, 2010 at 4:59 am
Man this one looks really bad, the others had bad effects and all but at least something happened.
October 5, 2010 at 6:12 am
I wanted to check this movie out but thanks to to you James, I know better now. Thanks for the info.
October 5, 2010 at 6:25 am
too much talking and walking trees? Its like im really watchin Lord of the Rings.
October 5, 2010 at 6:26 am
It’s *leave*, you idiot! “Make like a tree, and leave.” You sound like a damn fool when you say it wrong.
October 5, 2010 at 6:44 am
wow!! this movie looks really shit! goog stuff as always James.
October 5, 2010 at 7:22 am
I saw this for free on MONSTERS HD.
October 5, 2010 at 7:28 am
LOOOOOOOOOL! Oh man, this is funny as fuck!
I always find it amusing how ever horror/sci-fi film from the 50’s had to do with radiation.
Thanks for this one James, I needed a good laugh this morning, and this provided it.
LMMFAO! Great review! Love the BTTF reference at the end too!
October 5, 2010 at 7:35 am
0:33 damn, look at them titties!
October 5, 2010 at 8:17 am
Reminds me a little of “Horror of Spider Island”
October 5, 2010 at 8:25 am
They should have burned him
October 5, 2010 at 8:45 am
Yay, more Back to the Future references!
October 5, 2010 at 8:55 am
I keep getting a “No playable files for 05 From Hell It Came” error. Every other video is working except this one.
October 5, 2010 at 9:07 am
Don’t give woot and pollute then Nature comes back with a vengeance.
October 5, 2010 at 9:22 am
I had the same trouble.
It turns out a security program I was running was blocking the IP address for the movie file. I just turned off the software while watching Monster Madness, then turn it back on again.
Hope that helps.
October 5, 2010 at 9:40 am
I hope I’m not being greedy or selfish or anything, but, well, is there going to be an October AVGN?
October 5, 2010 at 9:41 am
Uhhh, it IS October so yeah!!
October 5, 2010 at 9:44 am
You are awesome James.I literally had a dream that I met you once.
I love your work.
I am doing whatever I can to spread the work to movie and video game lovers in India. And trust me,there are still people here who play the NES and SEGA..and by that I mean they play it for real – not just for nostalgic value.
cause of that even though most have us have now moved on to PC games, although we are like 1- 2 generations after u , we still understand exactly what u mean when u talk bout stuff.
The converted cost of the X box and PS3 is waay too high for most of us right now.
October 5, 2010 at 9:47 am
I love how they kill the tree.Thats what you call UNPREDICTABLE
October 5, 2010 at 9:57 am
You sound like a damn fool when you say it wrong!
A lightning bolt would be a nice way to kill a killer tree. If anyone’s ever seen a tree after being struck by lightning there’s a gnarly streak through the trunk… basically fingerprints from the lightning strike.
October 5, 2010 at 10:07 am
Ok seriously? A walking radiation man-tree? I really have no cheesy comment to say about this! It looks like a homemade Ent costume that some kid made out of paper mache! It’s horrible!!! HORRIBLE!!! (Great review though! :D)
October 5, 2010 at 10:29 am
The man-tree costume looks like the one a kid would use for school theater.
This years monster madness is shaping up nicely, seriously I could have James’ babies I love him so much.
October 5, 2010 at 10:57 am
Funny, a movie referencing Bikini experiments.
October 5, 2010 at 11:02 am
Absolutely hilarious! what were they smoking when they came up with the idea of a mutated killing tree. Thumbs up for the creativity but the film still looks awful. It made my day. Thx james.
Monster Madness is awesome
October 5, 2010 at 11:23 am
its a fucking tree, made of wood! Didn’t anyone think to BURN it?!
October 5, 2010 at 11:58 am
lol thats one I don’t mind being spoiled on as I will never watch it and just slightly over priced 😉
October 5, 2010 at 12:00 pm
angel85: How can you burn something that came from hell? :))
October 5, 2010 at 12:03 pm
This is like that Serge Brussolo book, Krucifix, where there’s some sort of radioactive substance or virus(don’t remember exactly) and all the people turn into walking trees. Only that book scared the shit out of me. This movie just bores me like fuck.
October 5, 2010 at 12:12 pm
“Make like a tree?” Is that a clever reference to the… over, never mind.
Cool review! Film certainly doesn’t look too outstanding.
October 5, 2010 at 12:33 pm
That one looks almost as bad as Beast of Yucca Flats. The monster is as goofy as in It Conquered the World. What’s up with monsters called It?
October 5, 2010 at 12:49 pm
rofl i love james rolfe
October 5, 2010 at 1:08 pm
I probably would have at least tried lighting it on fire. I heard wood burns real nice… and please tell me that’s not how the movie ends: falls in swamp -> cut to “The End”? No way.
October 5, 2010 at 1:32 pm
I knew what U meant when U used the Back to the Future reference.. Make like a Tree and get out of Here, but isn’t it “Make like a tree and Leave..” Still funny stuff.. Love Ur Video man keep up the good work..
Old Biff: ITS MAKE LIKE A TREE AND LEAF!
October 5, 2010 at 1:37 pm
“Wooden” you know it. A killer man tree. Nice to see you “Branch” out in these reviews. It looks bad, but you should “leaf” the actors alone and get to the “root” of the problem. “Termite” want to blame the writer. But you are probably right and this should be left in a “trunk” somewhere
October 5, 2010 at 1:44 pm
@ Zelda_Boy – Dont you realize that James has 31 episodes to make over 1 month? he has to find a movie, buy the movie, wait for shipping, watch the movie, edit the episode, then finally upload it 31 times. If there is going to be a AVGN this month it’ll be up tomorow because the plan is to upload a AVGN episode on the first wednesday of every month. But don’t get all mad if its not up he has lots of work to do you know
October 5, 2010 at 2:22 pm
Awesome, the glorious tree puns never end.
FUN FACT: I totaled up the Monster Madness videos for this month which come out to 2 hours, 7 minutes, 51 seconds. For one month, that’s a lot! It’s been a very large project and I’m glad you’re all enjoying it.
And YES, there is an AVGN episode this month, sort of horror-themed as usual.
do you think he just started putting these small videos together last week? i am sure he has been working on this for months in advance. hell, he probably already has all 31 done and it is just a matter of uploading them on a daily basis.
there is no reason not to have an AVGN this month.
October 5, 2010 at 2:23 pm
Why didn’t they just burn the Tree?
October 5, 2010 at 2:24 pm
1:10, look in the tree’s mouth, you can see the actors eyes
October 5, 2010 at 2:59 pm
man october is shapin up to be super awesome this year…Another awesome Monster Madness is underway, we got a new AVGN episode comin out soon (you know its gonna rule) and im goin to see the murder city devils TWICE next weekend !! great job mike and james..dont work too hard…god knows im not 🙂 take its easy guys
October 5, 2010 at 3:14 pm
LMAO! Hey James was the make like a tree line a PG version of the line from The Boondock Saints? You know “How about you make like a tree and… get the fuck outta here!!!”
October 5, 2010 at 3:16 pm
A radiated possesed tree that has the mind of a executed murderer?
Thats quite a mouthfull.
I will give them originality, i have never witnessed such a mix as this.
October 5, 2010 at 3:36 pm
That walking tree reminds me Nemesis from Resident Evil 2 Resurrection… :p
October 5, 2010 at 3:39 pm
So it’s a radioactive possessed tree walking around with the mind of an executed murderer and a dagger in its heart…. And according to the title, it’s from hell. Lol
For some reason I want to see this piece of shit.
Oh yeah, and is that girl in the quicksand naked?
October 5, 2010 at 3:46 pm
They can’t call it a trent? And why can’t someone just sneak up on it and push the dagger in? Because it would ruin the WHOLE plot. How could someone hit the dagger with a bullet anyway? Ah… As bad as Plan 9 From Outer Space!
October 5, 2010 at 3:56 pm
^^Haha. That’s got to be one of the worst plot holes of all time. The DVD price sounds like a fucking scam. A movie like that shouldn’t even cost $14. It seems more like those $5-$10 cheap movie deals you would find at Target, Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, or wherever the HELL the sell “From Hell It Came”.
Actually, the make like a tree comment is from Back to the Future. Sneaky little reference.
Can’t wait for the Mr Hyde re-re-revisit. AVGN rocks.
October 5, 2010 at 4:09 pm
Was there ever any attempt to BURN the FUCKING TREE?
October 5, 2010 at 4:33 pm
Nope, the tree puns never stop. I’m one of the few that can’t think of something new, so I’ll leaf now. Ugh, I hate myself.
I know! When James was like, “You want to know how to he the fucking tree?” I immediately thought, “Umm… fucking FIRE?!?!”
But no, the least common sense way to kill a tree I’ve ever heard of. Seriously, couldn’t the production team branch out a little bit and think of something better? Like… FUCKING FIRE?!?!
I’m sorry, Master. I did two puns two many. Yeah, I’m still doing it. Now with numbers.
October 5, 2010 at 5:06 pm
Piece of foam rubber crap! Still, wouldn’t want to get mauled by it.
Him versus Leatherface, that’d be a good fight. 🙂
October 5, 2010 at 5:21 pm
what a piece of shit! james did u pay that price? awesome review as always
October 5, 2010 at 5:34 pm
James looks like Mr. Slam from Twisted metal 2….
October 5, 2010 at 5:35 pm
Don’t let em get you down James. I enjoy Monster Madness enough I’d give up two months of AVGN for it.
You think the puns this guy has are good? There’s a thread on the classic horror film board dedicated to making jokes about this movie up to nearly 375 pages!
October 5, 2010 at 5:38 pm
The Biff reference fit in nicely.
Oh and the $27 DVD? It’s actually a DVD-R.
October 5, 2010 at 5:53 pm
@James That’s an INSANE amount of time to be fair! Outtakes, mistakes, editing, narrating. PLUS the AVGN episode. Well you gotta have creds for it, you’re the king of the internet.
October 5, 2010 at 6:30 pm
It’s leave, you idiot! “Make like a tree and leave!” You sound like a damn fool when you say it wrong.
October 5, 2010 at 6:38 pm
Murphy2112 you should make like a tree and get the fuck outta here you idiot.
October 5, 2010 at 6:44 pm
@Kevin he’s making a joke from Back to the Future
October 5, 2010 at 6:47 pm
Oh, man, I remember this from Monsters HD (what a great channel, too bad it’s gone….)
So much more could be said about this movie–I love how all the islanders were white people speaking in crappy accents, and I love this one part where the guy is standing three feet in front of the Tobanga and misses when he throws the spear. There’s also a part where the two islander women get in a really badly done knife fight that was funny to watch. I also like how the monster looks like Oscar the Grouch, and did you notice that when they shot the dagger, they were shooting from the wrong side of it?
It’s a great movie if you have it T-Vo’ed and can skip around to the funny parts, but I wouldn’t drop $27 on a dvd of it.
October 5, 2010 at 7:05 pm
Wow I took one look at the poster and thought this was going to be a good film. Well I’ve been wrong before.
October 5, 2010 at 7:21 pm
Ahh Back to the Future Refferances
October 5, 2010 at 7:57 pm
talking and walking? sounds like Lord of the Rings.
October 5, 2010 at 8:04 pm
Older Biff: *Hits you on the back of the head* That’s make like a tree, and leave! You sounds like an idiot when you say it wrong!
Sorry, I had to. 😛
October 5, 2010 at 8:34 pm
make like a tree and get out of here biff said that in back to the future
October 5, 2010 at 8:59 pm
This Is My First Monster Madness of yours its pretty cool!
October 5, 2010 at 9:21 pm
If you saw a killer tree wouldn’t you be like oh my god, holly shit, the fucking trees moving.
October 5, 2010 at 9:36 pm
what a piece of shit !!!!
October 5, 2010 at 9:39 pm
i love the clips in the beginning just as much as the review. what movie is the clip from where the guy gets shot in the head?!
October 5, 2010 at 10:02 pm
This Rocks!!! I love all these movies in all their cheesy goodness! (And this one has MY INTRO!!!!) THANKS JAMES!! I’m glad I’m part of history. 🙂
October 5, 2010 at 10:04 pm
oh man, you never disappointed me, awesome maddness!
October 5, 2010 at 10:32 pm
Ouch Kevin, no good.
Murphy knows whats up’.
Great work James 🙂
October 5, 2010 at 10:39 pm
ha oh wow I just thought it was a basher because I see alot of them on youtube its sad too because I just watched the Back to the future marathon where they showed all 3 on TV my bad
October 5, 2010 at 10:54 pm
my favorite one yet GREAT REVIEW JAMES
October 5, 2010 at 11:49 pm
And it never occurs to them to try to kill it with, oh I don’t know…FIRE!?
I don’t care if it came from hell. It’s a fucking tree. Burn it down.
October 6, 2010 at 12:00 am
Hey, Murphy2112, why dont you make like a tree and shut the F**k up!
October 6, 2010 at 12:11 am
I’d kill it with fire.
October 6, 2010 at 12:26 am
Walking and talking was a staple of these crappy movies. The monster effects were ass, and they obviously couldn’t come up with a premise that would be interesting for nearly 2 hours, so most of the movie is filler.
The worst I’ve ever seen is The Creeping Terror. A movie so shitacular, that it features a monster which resembles a large shaggy carpet. Oh, and the whole thing is narrated, because the director trashed the sound equipment and couldn’t afford more.
October 6, 2010 at 12:32 am
Monster madness 2010 = a fresh new review everyday. Awesomeness! Keep up the great work James.
October 6, 2010 at 11:09 pm
Funny how so many people are mad at Murphy2112 for bringing up what old Biff said after young Biff says the “So make like a tree and get outta here!” in the second BTTF. If your talkin shit to Murphy then your a dumb shit that doesn’t know the Back to the Future movies.
Anyways… Alot of people are saying burn the radioactive murderous tree man from hell with fire. I believe hes “From Hell” where I’m sure theres fire soooo I’d come up with an ax, cut him down, cut him into paper, and then you know what I’d do? I’d print the Bible on him.
October 7, 2010 at 12:05 pm
1:34 dude is totally making that name up. The trees face looks sort of like an Ewok.
I’m glad you sat through this so the rest of us would never have to. A true American hero.
October 7, 2010 at 5:01 pm
Thing is they were probably just stumped on what to do for a new monster. And they couldn’t Leaf the actors alone without a project to work on. Wood you blame them for trying to make a bit of green?
October 8, 2010 at 11:30 pm
“Even the trees walked in that movie.”
October 9, 2010 at 1:19 pm
Maybey it was an Ent. You know like treebeard from lord of the rings….or maybey the Ents were possesed radioactive killers returned from hell. wow theres a new spin on tolkien.
October 9, 2010 at 7:41 pm
teehee bttf2 reference :3
October 10, 2010 at 2:17 am
Hahahaha… that was awesome. Why the heck is this here?
October 10, 2010 at 2:51 am
holy crap m.night shamalan the happening ………… ..i think this is better than that piece of crap the only thing that was happening is me wanting my money back for that freaking movie
October 10, 2010 at 2:23 pm
It’s LEAVE, you idiot. Make like a tree and leave. You sound like a damn fool when you say it wrong.
October 10, 2010 at 7:50 pm
Alright then, LEAVE! And take your overpriced crappy movie with ya!
October 11, 2010 at 12:24 pm
Lol 26.99 for a evil tree movie?
October 14, 2010 at 5:33 pm
As a conosur of howlingly bad movies, i had to look into finding this film. It is outrageously priced on amazon, but I did some more digging and right now, until the 31st of October, you can get it for $13 bucks on the warner bros. site
October 15, 2010 at 6:33 am
What’s the movie in the intro with the dude shooting himself. Is that a Troma movie? What movie is that?
October 15, 2010 at 6:00 pm
That monster looks like something Ed Wood would’ve thought of.
October 16, 2010 at 6:57 pm
Damn, that was one hell of a shot.
October 20, 2010 at 12:23 am
Not only is the premise nonsensical and convoluted, an executed prisoner with a dagger in his heart, buried in a tree trunk and resurrected by radiation, possessed by an evil spirit… but.. THEY KILLED IT BY SHOOTING THE DAGGER?! How did they even manage to hit it? And furthermore, that makes no sense!
I LMAO’d at your BttF reference though, and even more that you don’t even recommend it… priceless! 😀
November 13, 2010 at 9:50 pm
February 13, 2011 at 1:37 pm
the title is backwords
March 29, 2011 at 3:28 pm
what a piece of shit movie indeed. lol.
May 6, 2011 at 4:11 am
@Trenton Mohr @Makkonen He is supposed to say it wrong, that’s the comedy of it..
May 21, 2011 at 6:57 am
The title sounds like a stereotypical old Jewish man wrote it. “From Hell it came, I tell you, and kosher it wasn’t!”
June 15, 2011 at 5:11 pm
Lol at the BTTF refrence
June 30, 2011 at 12:14 am
August 1, 2011 at 10:54 pm
You wanna know what’s a better movie than this?
September 7, 2011 at 5:55 pm
“Make like a tree….and get out of here!” Classic Biff line 😛
October 16, 2011 at 3:30 pm
Not only is the dvd too pricey, but it’s a fucking DVD-R! Come on! You’re going to charge that much for a fucking DVD-R! I can download the movie and make my own dvd of it for free. It’s the same damn thing.
October 24, 2011 at 8:38 pm
Do NOT watch these reviews while having Halloween on the TV behind you turned up loud enough it drowns out backround noise, whenever the music starts of Laurie screams, you get jumpy.
December 10, 2011 at 1:34 pm
The tree only walks huh, I guess you could say,
*puts sunglasses on* It’s bark is worse than it’s bite
March 11, 2012 at 1:36 pm
Great reference to Back to the Future!
July 31, 2012 at 7:28 am
Yoda stop doing movie titles, please!
