Coming Soon – Cinemassacre 300

James / May 19th, 2010

Every 100 videos or so, I’ve always made some sort of retrospective about my experience growing up making movies. Unavoidably, it will repeat some things mentioned inΒ Cinemassacre 200, but it will be much shorter and focuses on a very specific event from my past.

The title will NOT actually be “Cinemassacre 300”. Technically the number 300 has passed and keeping count of so many web videos has been kind of pointless. Nevertheless, it’s a deeply personal and sentimental video that looks back at my roots.

Thats awesome, I think Cinemassacre 200 was one of the most amazing videos you’ve done. Looking forward to the next one.

Cinemassacre 200 was a great retrospective about you and what you do James, and I am clearly looking forward to the 300th entry you make, regardless of what title you use. Us fans continue to enjoy your work here, and in many ways, I look at what you do as a source of inspiration, being a fellow gamer, film buff, and multimedia person as well. Like the fellows above, we all look forward to this… and the more amazing works to come! Keep it strong dude!

cinemassacre 200 is what pushed me to become a movie maker i had always made movies but never took it seriously until i saw that everybody has to start at the bottom sometime…i’m now coming into my second year of film production a level and its going great thanks for cinemassacre 200 and cant wait for 300

Cinemassacare 200 was what introduced me to you, even before AVGN. It was very very interesting, funny, and touching. In my opinion, just like that Bucket / Balls video, it showed your talents as a film maker. Hell, even George Lucas can’t put emotions into his film, yet most of yours have it no problem.

Of course, I was even more deeply moved when I saw your greatest creation… The Shit Pickle! LOL fucking funny as a big floppy donkey dick.

Keep it up James, everybody loves you!!!!!!!!!!!

Cool can’t wait. You’ve actually got a facinating background and history behind your work. It’s also interesting to hear about your life because I’m actually Canadian and just to let you know everyone up here in Canada loves your work James. πŸ™‚

Awesome!I love your retrospectives!Cinemassacre 200 is one of your best and most touching pieces you have produced,so I can’t wait to see what Cinemassacre 300 has to offer-and what specific event in the past you just mentioned is.

It’s really nice that you are doing what your heart deeply desires and you have a great passion towards what you do too. Cinimasscre 200 has made me not only think of you as the Angry Video Game Nerd that rants on and on about video games for the sake of entertainment; it has made me think of you as James Rolfe, the shy but awesome genius of film making. Your film should put many great directors to shame because of your passion and awesomeness. Okay, now I’ll end this comment, I truly will.

    Your #(whateverthefuckitis) fan,

Cinemassacre 200 got me interested in film making, and right now I’m working on a portfolio for a college film course. Mind you, I’m applying next year, but that just gives me a whole year to work on it. Can’t wait for the next retrospective, James.

  • Nightmare19

    May 20, 2010 at 9:15 am

I like to read the comments left by others, but its getting really old to see this “Need more AVGN, I want AVGN, dying without AVGN”. I mean I love the AVGN very much, but I also appreciate all of your other work. It seems to me that most people who come to this website only want to check out the AVGN and nothing else.

    Just something I’ve noticed…..

  • May 20, 2010 at 10:20 am

Allready 300!!! Like sand through the hourglass, so are the days of our life.

  • May 20, 2010 at 11:34 am

Nice that you have made that many videos.

Really enjoyed both Cinemassacre 100 & 200. They both were inspiring to me. And I’m a sucker for the personal and sentimental. Still a big fan!

    Keep up the good work!

  • May 21, 2010 at 4:27 pm

Looking forward to this. I never really liked your stuff (namely AGVN) until I watched Cinemassecre 200…. so in a way, its what made me a Cinemassecre fan. :3

Congrats on another 100ish videos, I hope all goes well for the next 100 more.

  • ZeFlyGuy

    May 21, 2010 at 4:29 pm

Nightmare19, I totally agree. AVGN is most definitely not the only good thing to watch on this sight. I like some of his other videos even more than AVGN.

thats cool, but if you said that every 100 vids or so you do what you did in cinemassacre 200, but have you ever done a 100?

  • shanazzykiller

    May 23, 2010 at 7:52 pm

people AVGN isn’t the only thing on this site james is also a very talented film maker you should go check out his films (i suggest legend of the blue hole he hit that one right on)

  • Ven

    May 24, 2010 at 3:43 am

I absolutely can’t wait for this one! Cinemassacre 200 was really good because it was interseting to hear what you went through to make movies.
I have seen every AVGN video you have, and I am amazed on how far you’ve gotten in your career. Keep up the good work!

  • There Are Those Who Call Him Tim

    May 24, 2010 at 12:44 pm

I loved Cinemassacre 200. I was told there was a Cinemassacre 100 but I cannot find it. And I agree with Nightmare19, I like to people’s comments but it is rediculous how many people say they want more AVGN. James has a life and it doesn’t revolve around AVGN. Maybe these people should look at some of his other videos and then they can appriciate him more.

  • Super-Retro gamer

    May 24, 2010 at 1:15 pm

I’d Love to know what really inspires you to make movies.

  • MAn Big-D

    May 25, 2010 at 12:40 am

Im pretty excited! I liked the last one you did where you showed some of the original movies you shot as a kid. It reminded me of when I was a kid.

  • asshole13

    May 25, 2010 at 2:06 am

@ MAn Big-D: Have some respect dude! Your on his site, telling him that his retrospective video had better be good? James states that this will be a very personal, sentimental video about his past. I’m sure some of witch involves what drives him to keep on filming. Although he’s done one befor, I for one am always up for hearing more him and his past.
This an oppertunity for us all to learn more about the man behind the nerd. I love his nerd videos as much as everyone else on this site, but to me he is soo much more now.
I no longer refer to him as AVGN, (though he always will be) he’s James Rolfe the writer/director/actor/genius.
I got a little off topic. Regardless, show him a bit more respect next time you post a comment. Especially when commenting on such a topic. Mabey that would fly in the AVGN comment section, (still disrespectful) but not in here.

  • shonkill

    May 26, 2010 at 8:38 pm

@ asshole13: I absolutely agree with you. To me, James is a genius not only because of the AVGN videos, but also for his professionalism making reviews and sharing part of his life with us. When I saw Cinemassacre200 it made me think that James is a very sentimental person and a very good friend. I mean I dont know him personally but the fact that he shares all this with us shows that he has a passion for movies and the least we can do is show him some respect .
Man, keep going, I dont know if you read this but if you do, don feel disapointed for those assholes (not ashole13) who cant appreciate the fantastic job you do. I hope to see you some day directing a good horror movie in Holliwood.
    U rock man. Hail James!
