    • November 21, 2013 at 10:14 pm

It looks like he wrapped it in plastic before running the sink on it in order to look like he was ruining it but then… fire? It’s not coming back from that.

    • awesome video games

      December 30, 2014 at 4:20 am

at timecode 9:18 james shows the back of ANOTHER game cartridge. that is not what a standard nes cart label in the back says. it looks like one of those bible games carts. the standard cart also says similar stuff but this one has it broken down in bullet points with some extra stuff but yes he does destroy the original

why no one didn’t noticed the label of this game! just take a look! human skin, that is painted in different colors, everything looks like some crazy art shit about future and robots. just look at the box. it makes me feel sick. they were on something, like LSD, when they were busy with label creation.

  • BananaJello

    July 1, 2010 at 5:39 pm

Sad thing is, it was a bad port, because the Commodore 64 version was actually really good, and so was the amiga version. I think nintendo also ported some of the other Epyx sports games (like California Games, and Summer Games) and if memory serves, those were bad ports as well. I truly enjoyed these games on my old Commie, but this game really did suck for the Nintendo.

  • dsmit161

    July 8, 2010 at 1:40 am

lol, this game sucked so bad we didnt even get to see the ataris list of games…lol

This was probally the funniest AVGN ever made!

  • Roe

    July 17, 2010 at 10:39 pm

Crap. This video makes me go into geek-out mode *sigh*

Epyx made some great games for the C64 and Amiga but for the NES they let Acclaim release some of their titles. Acclaim screwed up everything they touched so it’s no suprise that they would mess this game up even worse than what it already was.

Winter Games was not a good title, of all the Games series this one was by far the worst, but Epyx itself was a fantastic developer of both hardware and software.

The Epyx Fastload for the C64 made sitting through load times a thing of the past more or less and the Epyx 500XJ joystick is by far the most comfortable joystick i ever owned.

Geek mode over. Thank you and goodnight!

  • Foxinsocks

    August 9, 2010 at 1:10 pm

Its called hot dog aerials because ski jumping is a form of freestyle skiing, and another word for freestyle skis is hot doggers because they are double sided. But even still, the title makes no sense because “hot doggers” aren’t even used for ski jumping! Great video James, I always get a kick out of your avgn videos.

    October 21, 2010 at 8:06 pm

Did you ever find out why at the bottom of the screen during the speed skating game there is an endless string of PTPTPTPTPTPTPTPTPT?

  • SpeedyEric

    October 28, 2010 at 12:47 am

You were right about it being frackin cool during the time this episode came out, because we had that blizzard during the holidays. (I live in south- western Iowa.)

8:44- In speaking of this, I made a film in college about 4 movie characters living under the same roof, and in one scene, I have Darth Vader play Star Wars: Battlefront II on the Xbox, but you can see that he’s mashing buttons. I guess you can say that I was playing Winter Games on the Xbox. =P

Best way to destroy a game cartridge of a bad game ever. Also, when you cut to the fire, I hold my hands in front of the monitor, and I can actually feel the warmth of the flames.

In a few videos you seems to break your games FOR REAL !!!

I can’t believe you’re able to do a such thing.

I mean, it’s a pretty dumbass name, but cmon now it’s not cat-tit-bingo or anything :]

  • Pilotmoomoo

    April 23, 2011 at 12:19 am

Aerial hot-dogging is to do a trick in mid-air, but why they didn’t put skiing in the matter makes it odd, because hot-dogging is usually bi-planes doing tricks.

  • cortez845

    April 24, 2011 at 4:09 am

it wouldve been funnyer if the hot dog jump had a flaming dog inside of a hot dog bun.

  • Alex1350

    June 1, 2011 at 9:54 pm

    u really burned it?

  • chill182

    June 22, 2011 at 11:53 am

You should try the computer version of Winter Games. I had it for the Atari ST and it is awesome. It has all the events, better graphics and music, and the controls work a lot better.

  • Silgon

    June 30, 2011 at 3:02 pm

“burn motherfucker! burn!!” every time i hear this it just gets better and better, can’t stop laughing! hahahahahaha

  • Jon the Revenant

    July 12, 2011 at 5:30 am

@Alex1350 to answer your question, if you not yet have found the answer that is, then yes, he did actually burn the game cartridge. I believe he mentions that in one of his other videos, though I can’t remember which one.

  • SamAxe

    July 19, 2011 at 11:56 am

I love how he’s able to make the girl jump when he’s fucking around with the controller and not looking at the screen at 8:35, right after saying he hasn’t been able to get her to do anything except spin haha

  • July 22, 2011 at 3:15 am

did you see at 8:34 the girl jumps? im guessing its because he pressed the b button. so it is used in the game.

    August 23, 2011 at 12:44 am

Hot Dog Aerials: Have you ever heard the term “hot dogging”? it means showing off or something along those lines. Hot Dog Aerials sounds like something a “Surfer dude” would call it.

    September 9, 2011 at 1:40 pm

Fred Fucs is a terrible game designer! lmao That game is an insult to gamers everywhere!!!

  • DonSkiver

    September 12, 2011 at 7:22 am

You know you’re a hopeless dork when you get worried about carbon monoxide and other toxic fumes getting in the house after burning up an NES cartridge. Although I always wondered how long it took to burn it all up, inside and out, I was too worried about fumes to ever do it.

  • gluserty

    October 18, 2011 at 3:49 am

No disassemble this number two game? Heck yeah!
For what it’s worth, the Commodore 64 version is a lot better. This Nintendo version? Flush it!

  • JulianaRockPrincessBerg

    December 4, 2011 at 3:41 am

reminds me of the SNES Winter Olympics: Lillehammer 94 game, or more so how frustrating it was. some of the events were pointless like the short track…wtf? you should definitely review that one James, it is totally worthy for you to do a review of 🙂

Lol James sometimes the game just looks like they suck because You suck at it … I tried some games you review like Milon’s Secret Castle or Friday the 13th and I can play through without too much problems.. Back then not a single game was perfect every game had shitty aspects or bad game designIMO games like Call of Duty or World of Warcraft, the games of today, they also are victim or lazy game designers and stupid game companies who think about profits before gameplay quality

…So how did you and your wife manage to deal with the smell of burning plastic? xD That must have been pretty bad, if only for the few moments of footage that you needed.

  • MrGamepark

    April 1, 2012 at 7:02 am

I can tell that you burned a different copy by the way the front sticker on the cartridge looked. When you pulled the game out of the box there was a little rip on the bottom let then when you burn’t it the little rip wasn’t there.

  • ToaAntan

“Hot Dog Aerials” refers to the act of “Hot Dogging” or showing off in sports and games. Hot Dogging can mean anything from showboating after scoring a touchdown in football, to displaying your mad skills on something like, for this instance, ski jumping.

    • ToaAntan

      March 21, 2013 at 3:16 pm

I had this game when I was a kid… I could not understand how to play it at all. It was even more frustrating that I could not even cheat with turbo controllers because it used the D-Pad! What a pain. I may have got many 0.0’s, but it gets a -1 !

  • December 17, 2013 at 1:47 am

I was rather fond of California Games. A bit hard, but entertaining. However, this looks like shit.
