Killing machine to the fullest. Dark, gritty, but well made low budget schlock. Great message too, for its time. The UZI 9mm, (best line).

It’s funny you said that the first movie keeps getting overshadowed by the second which becomes very true to me! I bought the first two films on Blu-Ray and while the second is jam packed with bonus features, the first only has a lite amount which goes to show how the first keeps getting beaten by the second. But that doesn’t matter because buying all the Terminator movies on Blu-Ray is mandatory in anyone’s DVD collection.

I still prefer this one over the 2nd.
Besides “First Blood” this is my fav 80’s action-movie.
At least when it comes to US-Action….

i hate how everyone says t1 is ok, and T2 IS THE THE MOVIE EVER MADE! t2 was amazing, but i like t1 better. its a classic

Although T2 is awesome, I still prefer the first one, Arnie actually makes quite a supirsingly good villain, especially if it’s a robotic villain.

Sorry James, but the first movie is definitely the best one. That’s not to say that T2 isn’t awesome, because it is, but the first one is better. It’s more tense and suspenseful and watching it, you can’t help feel the despair, loneliness and sense of dread that Sarah Conor must feel. Sure, T2 is more balls-to-the-wall and more action packed but T1 edges it for me. Fans are divided between the first two movies (it has to be said that it’s normally the younger generation that prefer the second one) but they’re both classics and I’m sure we can all agree that they are both miles (dyson) better than the third one. See what I did there?

I love T2 but this one has always been my favorite

Trivia Time: Lance Henrikson, who plays a cop in this, was originally supposed to play the Terminator with Arnie as Kyle. After they saw Arnie’s (bad) acting, they decided to make him the mindless killing machine. However, the weaker looking one being the stronger would be reused in the second one. Also, Michael Biehn was originally slated to play the T-1000 to turn things around. Okay I’m done (for now).

what i don’t like about this movie is i wasn’t able to see it in the theaters. i was too young when this was released. i saw this during the betamax era. it was awesome! made me a terminator fan.

nice review. i liked this movie but it obviously wasnt better than the 2nd…well to me ofcourse.

I personally like this film better then the second. The second has a childish tone to it which i thought drug it down a little bit though the film is amazing none the less. This film is darker and dirtier and thats why i love this film better then the second.

sorry, but I gotta disagree, I love T2, but I like the first one better, I think it’s really unfairly judged to be inferior. I honestly think that the two are on par but personally like the first a bit more.

I love the first 2 and watch the third if I’m bored. I didn’t hate it and I like to pretend its more like a “What-If” film than an actual sequel. I too had a Horror feel while watching it but didn’t think of the thing with the Terminator actually wearing a face in comparison with horror villains. But hey, that’s why I’m a fan, I find out you like things I like and even point out cool new things I never thought of making my liking for them even better.

Christ that musical trill that plays when the Terminator lurches back to life always creeps the piss outta me, especially the disturbing visual of it crawling over Reese’s body.

I prefer this one just a little bit bit more than the second, because like James said, it reminds me of the horror movies, I love the Terminator as a horror killer!!!

I know that many people are going to hate this but I liked the 1st one better than the 2nd one. I still like the second one one but the one that i will say i love is the 1st one because I like the grittiness and the darkness of it while the second one just as dark but has a lighter and more uplifting feel like they can stop the machines while the 1st is a chase in the dark and at the end their is hope for humanity.
