Man, I gotta see this movie! I heard that the 4-disc Collector’s Edition DVD is awesome.

I heard Romero just made his next zombie film coming out soon called Survival of the Dead! Do you plan on seeing it?

Being the fan of George Romero, I had to own everyone of his zombie movies on DVD. I love every single one of them, Night, Dawn, Day, and Land of the Dead, each one its own little treasure of action and gore. My most favorite scene out of all four movies is the guy getting his head ripped off while still screaming in Day of the Dead. I’ve shown friends some of the gore in Dawn and Day of the Dead, and they just look at me with a look of disgust. I get a kick out of it. Zombies rock and George A. Romero will always be the “Father of Zombies”.

George A Romeo is the best with zombies. But the remake of Day of the Dead sucked, they shouldn’t make of remake of Romeo’s unless they know what they’re doing.

The remakes of Night and Dawn were good though, even though they won’t match the originals. I saw the trailer for Survival of the Dead, but now i wonder if he has to have everyone of his movies with “of the Dead.” not bit**ing just wondering.

But i’m a big zombie fan and if it involves zombies, i’m going to watch it, unless the first 15 minutes suck.

For me, zombie movies have to grab you in the first 15 minutes, and you have to fight to get lose but can’t. If your not pulled in, turn of your DVD player and go outside.

I hate to say this, but I actually liked the remake of this movie more than the original. The remake is seems to be a more serious movie, and i think the acting is awsome compared to the original.

“When there’s no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth”
That is one of the best lines in zombie movie history.

I just realized that maybe Dawn of the Dead was where they must have gotten the idea for the game Dead Rising on the Xbox 360. It has the same setting and everything. A shopping mall overrun with zombies and multiple ways and weapons to use against them. Never tought of that before now.

i just hope they don’t remake day of the dead or land of the dead but why is it they had to remake of dawn of the dead i don’t understand why they remade this one cause its a master piece and should be left alone like alien predator terminator godzilla all these icons deserve to be left alone even though i’m against remakes such as night of the living dead and no i don’t mean the one in 1990 directed by tom savini (i don’t know if he directed that one can someone help me here) i mean the one coming in 2010 now and even though i like the original version the remake in 1990 is really cool cause 1 they made the zombies look like real zombies cause the original the zombies just looked like people who got hypnotyzed by bela lougosi to bad hes dead he was one of the bestest actors alive but he had to die in 1956 cheers to bela lougosi for being the best dracula of all time (and christopher lee from the hammer films)

Hey James, could you tell us what you think of the remake of Dawn of the Dead in the 2010 Monster Madness, I heard it’s pretty good but I wanna hear your view on it.

I just started going through these, so I don’t know if you review this film later on in 2008 or 2009, but Fucli’s “Zombi 2” (1979) is some of the GREATEST zombie work I’ve ever seen. His zombies are the most realistic (well as realistic, as a zombie could be I guess) I’ve ever seen.

His gore effects actually blow this away. That’s not to say this film isn’t GOD, because it is. I actually own Dario Argento’s “Zombi” (1977) which is the European version of “Dawn of the Dead”

ZOMBI 2 was awesome and scary but ZOMBI 3-6 i’d skip them and it’s been rumored land of the dead is being remade and it’s going to be 3-d like the new saw film coming out october 29th.

    I have it on DVD.

We got this, man! We got this by the ass!
I love this movie. To be honest, I think of it more as a horror comedy. It’s a fun zombie movie which doesn’t take itself seriously at all, but that’s what I like about it.

Classic. I remember sitting watching this as a kid and just cheering on roger as he ran about punching zombies square in the face.

And as I just remembered, Laughing at bens stupid yellow vest when him and flyboy are stealing from the cash registers.

James, you lucky bastard, you got to meet romero!!
    Guy is a fucking GENIUS!

I’ve wanted to meet that guy since I could pronounce his name!
Bet he was real nice and had really cool storys about zombies and being romero!

Anyways James, Probably couldnt have summed up the movie better myself. Nice job man!!

i love all of George’s movies, but i hate all of his implyed liberal subtext, i dont really see it when i watch them, i just enjoy the films for what they are, great movies. The exception being his last one, survival of the dead , this one is to blatant in its subtext, and i hated it from the beginning and it is by far his worst movie.

  • July 5, 2011 at 5:19 pm

Im a huge romero fan, but ill see that as a trilogy, becouse land of the dead did not feel like a romero movie. and romero seem to loose hes gift now in present days, like survival of the dead, that one was jus embarrasing! But diary of the dead was great thoug..

I preferred Dawn out of all of them. Night takes to long to get going, Day is way to much arguing , Land just does not seem right, Diary to Blair Witch and Survival just to much period. This one did everything well. Granted I like something about all of them.

Day of The Dead is my favorite zombie movie. I love it when buddy got ripped in 2 and he says “I hope you choke on it ‘. They used real pig guts for that scene.

Dawn of the Dead is my favorite zombie movie. I also like the original Night of the Living Dead. I was not a fan of Day of the Dead, and I never saw Land of the Dead.

  • September 13, 2014 at 10:02 pm

Great review of a great movie, have you read George Romero’s new Marvel comic Empire of the Dead? It’s pretty cool, full written review here: http://fronttowardsgamer.com/2014/09/12/empire-of-the-dead-1-review-comics/

    October 1, 2014 at 1:15 pm

GREATEST ZOMBIE MOVIE OF ALL TIME, no question. You think Romero couldn’t top Night of the Living Dead? Well that’s exactly what he did. Every character is interesting and likeable and everyone has their favorite for different reasons. Mine is Peter. He’s jus badass. Doesn’t say much but when he does it means sumthin. Plus the ending has you cheering him on. If anybody is the hero it’s him. This movie is gory, hilarious, entertaining and exciting through out. I mean who wouldn’t want a mall to themselves. The genius writing and directing of Romero and the genius of Tom Savini when it comes to everything bloody makes this a movie that can’t be beat.

The only thing that disappoints me with this movie is how fake the blood looks. Otherwise, it’s a fun romp through a zombie infested mall.
