Ikari Warrior IV (Guerrilla War) was a HUGE improvement, it’s actually fun.

Not feeling it for episode VIII and they cancelled the only thing that was almost as good as the original trilogy, Rebels. That show was, mostly, seriously outstanding. They could’ve kept the show going, being parallel to the original trilogy’s timeline, but they just end it instead.. Missed opportunities, really.

So basically, you’ll need the map in each stage in order to reach the end boss of that stage, otherwise the stage will just loop until you get it. You can either buy it, or get it by shooting a hidden area 5 times (listen for sound effects), like in 15:20 in the video. In this game, one hit and you die. To help with this, the horse gives you 3 extra “hits”. The magnum is the strongest weapon, delivering one hit kills and goes through multiple enemies, while the smart bomb is probably the most useful item. It acts as a safety, so you get one extra hit, plus if you get hit while it’s equipped, it will wipe out all enemies on screen!

Just to follow up on the Tecmo/Technos discussion, Technos also developed games like River City Ransom and World Cup Soccer for the NES, both of which were fantastic (the former especially).

And Super Spike V’Ball and Double Dragon 2, which is of course what started your conversation to begin with. 🙂

I forget the name of the Natsume game for the SNES that’s a Western shmup with both a male and female hero and two player co-op, but you guys should do that one at some point.

Sorry James, but that MotherFucker that sits next to you in James & Mike Mondays is a fucking fuckface!

Good grief Mike. You push James out of the way and talk over top of him, then you have to prove that you are right when James wasn’t questioning you at all. He just wanted to know more. I don’t know how he puts up with that constant rudeness.
