Nice review James, I enjoyed all the Kong reviews this week. You came, you saw, you Kong-quered.

    Ha!

Does anyone who has seen it know if “Sympathy for the Devil” on there? It wouldn’t be surprising at all.

Haven’t seen it but i’d imagine it would be in there somewhere along with Creedence Clearwater Revival – Fortunate Son!

Glad you mentioned Marvel. Companies are seeing how profitable the Marvel Cinematic Universe is and are trying to “apply the formula” to multiple franchises now. I don’t think it quite works for most of them. DC for example has done TV a hell of a lot better than movies and should stick with TV instead of aping (see what I did there?) Marvel.

I didn´t consider to go and see it, but your review aroused my curiosity.
    Thanks! 🙂

I’m not really excited about the Universal monsters reboot… unless it means that some day we’ll see a King Kong vs. Dracula movie.

The characters being stock was fine, it fit with the movie being a send up of war flicks a la Starship Troopers.

I waited till i saw it before seeing your review and i agree with you. The only thing i wish was that there was more scenes with the 2 WW2 pilots. Here’s hoping for some deleted/extended scenes in the home release.

I just saw it with my sister yesterday after hearing your review and I actually like it for the movie it came out to be. My sister loved it. I did wait till after the credits and it was so epic. I thought some of other monsters looked silly but Kong looked like a walking ape that just got huge.
