Leaving this here for you, if you ever feel like another Doom mod with a ton of work. Megaman 8-bit Deathmatch takes the Doom engine and redesigns everything as a FPS Megaman game where all robot master weapons are available. It’s really well done and a ton of work went into it. http://cutstuff.net/mm8bdm/

One thing that’s great about Brutal Doom is even though there are levels made specifically for it, it’s mostly a gore mod so you can play regular Doom and Doom 2 levels with it as well. So awesome.

Back when Doom II was new, and PC game rental stores existed, my local store was actually selling a homebrew called Aliens: Total Conversion which redrew all the sprites as the Aliens from the movie of the same name. It was full of sound bites like Apone screaming “check those corners!” With all new levels, for course, it was a lot of fun.

You know, with all of the Zelda references they love to make, I’m surprised they haven’t done Binding of Isaac yet.

Doom64 is more of a real Doom 3 than Doom 3. And there are two major fan projects to port D64 to PCs.

I’m not fond of Brutal Doom. It lays the fanservice on so thick that it’s not really recognizable as Doom. I stick to jDoom with the HD packs that keeps the gameplay much the same as real Doom (aside from mouselook and optional jumping) and brings it up to Quake-level visuals.

The closest thing to Temple of Doom DOOM, is Taco Bell: Tasty Temple Challenge.

Hmmm looks like you guys merged FreeDoom with Brutal Doom’s assets to restore the original Doom content.

Guys, have you ever thought of doing a “Top 10/20/30 video games of all time” list; one for each of you? I’ve wanted to see that ever since James made his top 30 movies list back several years ago
