LOL this was amazing! That skull there is called Docrun but who’s ever gonna call it that? I like they call him “Skully” that’s my favorite Mega Man 4 enemy.

My bad, it’s actually “Docron”. Maybe because “Dokuro” means skull in japanese, Yeah, like I’m gonna ever make a fanclub about that guy. Hmmm…

Hope this finds it way to the Nintendo eShop.

Never gonna happen. They’d have to actually negotiate the rights then, rather than just hoping they don’t get cease-and-desisted like Super Mario Bros. X, AM2R (Another Metroid 2 Remake), and Pokémon Uranium.

(Speaking of which, all are great games and should be played… though some of them are only available via torrents. Thankfully, if you go to their subreddits, the fans have offered up md5sums and links to torrents that match the pre-C&D official downloas.)

That’s the kind of game that couldn’t never be sold. True fans.

Did no one mention this? You guys missed the mario sex party at the end of the double dragon level. You do the wall climb glitch at the very end of the level and oh boy. Maybe a video extra of that and other secrets, if any more?

You can also kill the “The old man hates beef” guy on the zelda stage.
the next time you enter he’ll say “fuck you abobo!” instead of the usual message.

      I was not disappointed.

That was the best game I have ever seen and best ending. I couldn’t stop laughing on each thing that happened. I almost wish I didn’t see this and played it myself to be surprised but maybe if it does come out I will have forgot about it. I loved how it brought back almost every memory I had when I was a kid. I believe it is good to grow up as a kid in the 80s when video games just started coming out. It’s so much of a great experience in the world.

The Mario 2 “it was all a dream” ending was perfection. I’m obsessed with this game now.

Who else wants the people that made Abobo’s Big Adventure to design the third AVGN game?

I was about to say the exact same thing.

Hey James and Mike! I know you might be already aware of this but you can use “Joy to key” (http://joytokey.net/en/) to emulate keyboard commands using any usb controller. It makes it possible to play with controller even if the game it self does not have built in controller support.

Also.. Thanks for all the wonderful nostalgia!

      I prefer Antimicro (https://github.com/AntiMicro/antimicro).

As far as I can tell, it’s superior to JoyToKey in every way:

      1. Antimicro is free open-source software rather than shareware
      2. Antimicro works on Windows, Mac, and Linux
      3. Antimicro has a nicer interface
      4. Judging by the JoyToKey website, Antimicro seems to have more features

I’m convinced this is the greatest 8-bit game ever made. You guys should have hooked up a controller so you could enjoy it to its full potential.
It has everything. Even Toxie made an appearance! And that Contra/evil Kirby fight was epic. Especially with the cross keyboard controls. What an awesome Big Adventure. (Speaking of which, Mike, your Pee-wee impersonation was on point.)
As was mentioned before, you should get the guys who made this game to design the new AVGN Adventures.
What was the Aboboy bonus game at the end there?

I also love that they threw in all those classic 80s/90s references at the end there. Doc Brown, Clark Griswold, even Guybrush Threepwood (from Secret of Monkey Island)! The only one missing was Leisure Suit Larry. 😉

Wow. Do they have the arcade cabinet at any arcades or did they just make one of those?

This is a game you play online right? Looks fun, I gotta try this.
