awesome! I’ve amazingly never played it either and we’re the same age. guess I’m going to have to fire up the old Gameboy and find this
    game!

  • September 5, 2016 at 12:21 pm

I’d absolutely love to see you guys play Chrono Trigger, no matter how many videos/time it takes, it’s one of my all time favourite games, and hands down my favourite SNES game.

    • Don Skiver

      September 6, 2016 at 12:21 am

I’d also like to see them play Chrono Trigger as well as Final Fantasy. In fact, I’m playing through the DS version of Chrono Trigger right now.
I still have my signed SNES cart, my virtual console copy, and my nintendo DS copy.

    • Hanglyman

      September 7, 2016 at 2:21 am

Me too. Don’t care if it takes a year!

  • September 5, 2016 at 12:22 pm

Great video guys, I never beat LA, thanks to getting stuck in the overworld layout back then, now I think I’ll have to try again. Also F YES! on the Chrono Trigger review, I would definitely watch that.

  • Ghoshtbushterrzz

    September 5, 2016 at 12:26 pm

Yeah, do final fantasy. I’d watch a 100 part J&MM

    • The Kaleidoscopic God

      September 7, 2016 at 12:00 am

They’d have 2 years’ worth of episodes then…

    September 5, 2016 at 12:34 pm

WHat’s with the blackout at 13:47? Was the Nintendo Power cover supposed to be shown there?

  • Imaculata

    September 5, 2016 at 12:56 pm

Verily means “truly”. yes, it is a word. But that aside, I love this game. And did you know that there is a special “after-credits surprise” if you finish the game with 0 deaths? I’m not sure if you also need to collect all heart containers for that ending.

    • fanboyfilms

      September 6, 2016 at 4:20 pm

You see “verily” in Shakespeare a lot. It’s not a translation flub. They’re just trying to make Zelda’s world seem old-timey, like how Marvel writes Thor. “Doth your mother know you weareth her drapes?”

    • Skelingaton

      September 6, 2016 at 5:23 pm

I don’t think you need to get all the heart containers but you do need to not steal from the shop as well as 0 deaths. It’s a minor alteration to the ending but still nice to see.

  • September 5, 2016 at 12:56 pm

    Glad you guys enjoyed it!
I’ll never forget how much joy this game brought me as a kid, so it’s kind of heartwarming to see even James have a lot of fun with a game he didn’t have the chance to play until recently.

  • September 5, 2016 at 1:33 pm

I don’t care how many parts or how long it will take but watching you guys play chrono trigger would be awesome. It’s always a crowd favorite.

  • magus90

    September 5, 2016 at 2:29 pm

Definitely do a Chrono Trigger playthrough. It is easily my favorite game of all time and IMO one of the greatest gaming experiences you will ever have. You can beat the game in 25-35 hours depending on how fast you go through, not sure how many videos it would take to cover the whole game, but i am pretty sure most people would watch the series if you made one.

  • September 5, 2016 at 2:31 pm

You should do a Chrono Trigger video every other week and a short one on the off weeks for the next two years or however long that would take.

  • Chase Kenway

    September 5, 2016 at 2:34 pm

A full year of you guys playing Chrono Trigger? YEEEEEEEEEEEES!!!

  • Katherine Sterling

    September 5, 2016 at 2:56 pm

Would absolutely love to see you guys play Chrono Trigger! If you do it, why not go with a more traditional LP style? That would mean less editing for you guys and more content for the viewers.

    • ToadRoad

      September 9, 2016 at 6:47 pm

That would be awful. These videos of just watching people play games are entertaining precisely because they cut out all the uneventful stuff and dead air. I have never seen an uncut, unedited playthrough of a game, but I imagine that would be a chore to sit through.

  • TheFreakMachine

    September 5, 2016 at 2:57 pm

I’d LOVE to see a Chrono Trigger 100 parts video!

  • September 5, 2016 at 3:39 pm

You guys do so many games that I say do it. A year of a great game like CC or FF6 wouldn’t bother me at all. Y’all spend so much time playing crappy games that you deserve to play something good.

  • September 5, 2016 at 4:40 pm

Chrono Trigger would make an epic series. The change of pace would be great

  • herbsuperb

    September 5, 2016 at 5:48 pm

Awesome. You guys have encouraged me to finally play through Link’s Awakening. I’ve never played it. I would love to see some material from you guys about Chrono Trigger. It’s among my top 3 favorite games of all time, and I’ve played it through several times. It’s a masterpiece among masterpieces. SNES era was awesome!

  • September 5, 2016 at 6:11 pm

Aww, come on Mike, you told James everything he needed to discover and guess for himself x(

    • September 5, 2016 at 6:11 pm

I wanted to see James get stuck in the labyrinthe and try to find the book that tells the solution lol

      • September 5, 2016 at 6:15 pm

        Omg yes! Chrono Trigger!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Michael Holmes

      September 5, 2016 at 6:33 pm

Oh yeah, Do it please! When it comes to Chrono Trigger, I’m right there with you. An Absolute Gem!

  • September 5, 2016 at 7:32 pm

Yes please play Chrono Trigger for an entire year.

  • bud

    September 5, 2016 at 7:45 pm

Watching you guys play the same game for a year, I would soon get bored. It doesn’t matter what game it is.

    • September 6, 2016 at 2:48 am

A year is a bit exaggerated thought. It’s not all that much longer than Link’s Awakening tbh. But true, it’d get old, variety is best.

  • Internoob

    September 5, 2016 at 8:03 pm

Id love to see a long ass playthrough of Chrono Trigger. That’d be awesome! Id more rather see you guys play a more underrated epic game though, like Secret of Evermore or something, but it’s still a great idea! You’d have to make each episode long though, like 30 or so minutes. Or perhaps have two episodes per week rather than the usual one.

  • HighPriest

    September 5, 2016 at 8:20 pm

I would definitely watch a Chrono Trigger full playthrough.

  • September 5, 2016 at 9:15 pm

Hello. I registered using Facebook which I never fucking do so that I could tell you guys that you SHOULD play the Chrono Trigger all the way, mostly because YOU WANT TO. I for one would watch it all.

  • September 6, 2016 at 12:04 am

Another great episode again guys ; Can’t wait till Chrono Trigger will be epic.

  • September 6, 2016 at 1:00 am

James & Mike Chrono Trigger Tuesdays?

  • mike king

    September 6, 2016 at 1:08 am

JAMES AND MIKE CHRONO TRIGGER CAN BE BEAT IN AROUND 15 TO 20 HOURS. Its actually a short rpg

  • Tross

    September 6, 2016 at 1:52 am

I wouldn’t mind seeing you guys do a playthrough of Chrono Trigger. Screw Final Fantasy. CT is hands down my favourite work by Square Enix. Zelda may be a singleplayer experience, but I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve gone to houses of friends and family and just ended up watching them play through some of Ocarina of Time in a file that’s already in progress. I’ve come to believe that that’s what good friends do. Maybe if I want to bond with someone I should ask them if they could play through part of OoT so I could watch them play through a point 1/3-3/4 of the way through the game.:P

  • September 6, 2016 at 7:01 am

YES! We would definitely love to watch a full Chrono Trigger playthrough by you two!

  • Fluxcapacitor121

    September 6, 2016 at 10:22 am

As cool as it would be to see FF or Chrono Trigger videos, you should play Secret of Mana! My fav SNES title and it can be played multiplayer!

  • HungShark

    September 6, 2016 at 11:48 am

    Fuck yes for Chrono Trigger!

  • S.Peelman

    September 6, 2016 at 12:06 pm

Aww not the good ending where Marin’s wish of becoming a seagull is granted, and she lives on outside the dream. Though granted, that’s pretty hard to get. 🙁

Anyway, already said it, brilliant game, one of my all-time favorites.

  • IHaveNoLifeAtAll

    September 6, 2016 at 12:13 pm

That’s the last time I tried to post a message here, only to have it never appear.

    • IHaveNoLifeAtAll

      September 6, 2016 at 12:18 pm

Although that one ironically went through immediately, so I don’t know… maybe it’s actually a bug, or they thought it was meant to stir up people. (It wasn’t.)

      • Skelingaton

        September 6, 2016 at 5:20 pm

I’ve heard that really long posts don’t appear for whatever reason. I have a habit of copying what I type out before posting in case there is an error as I’ve had it happen on lots of other sites.

  • Berkeley_Bum

    September 6, 2016 at 12:21 pm

Dude, fuck Chrono Trigger. Mario made a cameo at the ending!

  • September 6, 2016 at 2:11 pm

I disagree about zelda and metroid being a single player experience. When I was young back when the games were new on the NES we played together, one would do the playing the other was the map maker, researcher, and statistician.

    • September 6, 2016 at 4:30 pm

Yes. And I always love playing single players with my bro. I love watching my big bro playing Zelda. As a kid, when metroid would get too spooky, I would have him play it for me haha

  • September 6, 2016 at 2:24 pm

    Do Chono for a year

  • Skelingaton

    September 6, 2016 at 5:17 pm

Such a great ending to the game too. I like to think Link’s dreams/nightmares invaded the Windfish’s dream too since you fight Ganon and Aghanim and see a lot of the classic Zelda items.

A Chrono Trigger playthrough would be cool to see. If you decide to play it maybe you could upload a part every other week or something so you all can still play through some other games while working on Chrono Trigger.

  • Daniel Young

    September 6, 2016 at 5:29 pm

I would love to see you guys play those longer games like Chrono Trigger or Final Fantasy! I was never into those games when I was younger (I didn’t have the patience for turn based combat), but now I find myself hunting for older RPG’s and breaking out my SNES to play them on. You could even invent a new character for these videos like SAGA NERD RPG James or something like that. That way, you would still have James and Mike Mondays open for other shorter games.

  • Paulballsftw

    September 6, 2016 at 9:10 pm

I don’t know why I watched this to the end. I want to play this game someday and I didn’t want to see the end but now I don’t know if I want to. I guess after watching you guys played it I feel I played it with you and saw the ending. So I guess I wouldn’t need to anymore.

  • Carmen Abramo

    September 7, 2016 at 5:52 am

I registered just so I could say…Yes Play ChronoTrigger. That game is one of the best games ever made. You have to play it. Also great Show. Turn in every week.

  • September 7, 2016 at 10:44 am

I don’t usually log in to comment, but since you are asking the fans, YES PLEASE CHRONO TRIGGER. Nostalgia factor up through the roof. Maybe a year would drag a bit, but split up brilliantly through a few episodes would be the bomb imho

  • September 7, 2016 at 11:29 am

Instead of Final fantasy, play The last of us on PS4. Created by the demigods at Naughty dog.

Game is between 8-11h and is easily the best modern game out there! 🙂

  • calmLIKEaBOB-OMB

    September 7, 2016 at 12:58 pm

You should’ve played the DX version on the GameCube using the GBA player.

  • xeoneex

    September 8, 2016 at 3:52 am

I’m not really sure why, but as a child I cried at the end of this game. I felt it was really sad. I feel that everything you did was not real and I had grown so attached to the characters that when I realized it was all a dream it just sucked. To me thats the mark of a good storytelling game, when I can be that invested in the characters.

  • xeoneex

    September 8, 2016 at 3:58 am

Verily means Truly. It comes from the King James Bible, lots of times Jesus says Verily Verily I say unto you. It roughly translates to Truly Truly I say.

  • mike keith

    September 9, 2016 at 7:09 am

Hell, you should play Square Enix’s Masterpiece, The 7th Saga, using each of the 7 characters. That has to easily be the best SNES RPG ever, period.
The music is fantastic, and with each character having a different scenario to beat the game, the replay value is the best out of any other Nintendo game hands down. I had to make a machine to work my controller to gain EXP over a 3 or 4 day period, or it would have taken me an extra 72+ hours to beat it.

  • September 9, 2016 at 7:22 am

Chronotrigger is only a 20-25 hour game to beat. It has to be short in order to get all those endings. So it shouldn’t take you all year unless you go for all the endings.

  • Fred . Fuchs

    September 9, 2016 at 9:09 am

I would like to see Chrono Trigger only if it takes 4 episodes at most.

    • AtmaWeapon

      September 16, 2016 at 2:16 am

      40 episodes he means

  • mike king

    September 10, 2016 at 12:25 am

5 months of every monday at 1 hour each, will get chrono trigger done. DO IT!!!!!!

  • September 11, 2016 at 8:13 pm

Yes I would gladly watch you do a 100 part chrono trigger playthrough.

  • September 12, 2016 at 1:01 am

How did you like this game compared to A Link to the Past?

  • Gablamonde

    September 16, 2016 at 2:14 am

Oh yeeeeaah! Do that Chrono Trigger playthrough and do the mothership from the very last futur years to the very last past years. You’ll have a other 25h more just for that 😉

  • October 2, 2016 at 5:43 am

makes me think of Zelda 1 on NES. Was the whole neighborhood.. which consisted of like 3 or 4 kids, playing Zelda. My bro had the zelda strat guide… he was like THE DUDE for a week for getting us through the lost woods.

Was my older sisters game she let me borrow. Along with Metroid, Rygar, MT Punchout, etc. Didnt let me borrow her dragon warrior but i still maanged to erase he 40+hr save game… there was much anger and dissapoint.
