Another great video guys cant wait for the next one!

    • December 29, 2014 at 10:58 pm

Same, great memories. But I wonder if they know that anyone that played Mortal Kombat had a six button controller? Duuuuh.

      • December 29, 2014 at 10:58 pm

        talkin bout genesis of course…..

  • Allen Lucas

    December 29, 2014 at 12:19 am

Guess I’ll have to call you Musturd Mike!

    • December 29, 2014 at 12:29 pm

I wonder if Mother Fucker Mike ever showed the musturd how to hold a N64 controller

      • December 29, 2014 at 11:00 pm

must-TARD. Must-TURD…… yeah works for me.

Woot! Great job guys! Love it!

    December 29, 2014 at 12:37 am

With James’ obsession with shit, I must wonder if he’s ever seen the South Park episode about Randy taking a giant shit. 😉

    December 29, 2014 at 12:38 am

    Great vid as always.

    December 29, 2014 at 12:55 am

Anyway nice change of pace to have Kevin and Bootsy on, should do it more often.

  • Rick

    December 29, 2014 at 12:58 am

Shit, games and laughs… title of your Christmas card.

  • December 29, 2014 at 12:58 am

Bearded guy holds the N64 controller weird.

    • December 29, 2014 at 1:24 am

I know right? It’s like watching my mom play.

You guys should teach him about video games. Just keep Mike away from him as he was calling the shoulder buttons “triggers” the whole time. Buttons under the gamepad are triggers (z trigger in this case) and buttons on the front are shoulder buttons.

      • Joker83

        December 29, 2014 at 9:53 am

Niggling little pedantic comments like this make me frustrated for these guys.

      • December 30, 2014 at 5:31 am

Shoulder buttons are “bumpers” now 😉

  • JohnnyV234

    December 29, 2014 at 1:19 am

I hate it when people say I’m holding the N64 controller wrong by grabbing each of the outsides. You can hit all the buttons holding each of the outsides but if you use the grip where your left hand is on the part with the joystick you will never be able to hit the L button or the joypad. I remember even Nintendo’s instructional booklet saying that both were legit ways to hold their controller 🙂

    • December 29, 2014 at 1:25 am

Yeah, but you can’t hit the Z-trigger easily. So sorry, but you are holding it wrong.

    • jasonjrf

      December 29, 2014 at 1:27 am

you are holding it wrong you will never have as good of control holding the outside as you can the way it was intended

    • December 29, 2014 at 1:50 am

I hold the controller that way as well, and have for every game I’ve ever played on the N64. It’s not “wrong”, and you can hit all the buttons easily.

      • Treise

        December 29, 2014 at 4:12 am

I know right, I don’t understand how it’s wrong, I never had an issue playing all the games i played.

      • January 11, 2015 at 11:14 pm

        Ok trolls

    • Johnny

      December 29, 2014 at 5:04 am

Theese are the correct ways of holding it:
      http://i.imgur.com/QABlI9e.png

So it’s only “legit” to hold the outsides if you’re not gonna use the stick and Z trigger. ;P

      • JohnnyV234

        December 29, 2014 at 10:55 am

That’s exactly the picture I was talking about! Thanks Johnny. If you look at the diagram on the right if the hand was shifted up and to the right you can hit all the C buttons and A, B with your thumb, have your index finger on R, and your middle finger constantly on Z. The stick you just reach your thumb from your left hand.

      • Johnny

        December 29, 2014 at 11:17 am

Oh yes, i am not saying it is not possible, my interpertation is that the right most diagram is showing the recommended way of holding it when playing a game that does not use the stick and Z trigger.

Gold Jacket, Green Jacket, Who gives a s***?

      December 30, 2014 at 3:08 am

Only game I held the controller like that was No Mercy. Because you had to use the D-Pad to move. The control stick was for taunts.

  • jasonjrf

    December 29, 2014 at 1:26 am

Has Kevin Finn ever played N64 He is holding the outside of the controller while using the analog like a complete noob lol too funny

  • December 29, 2014 at 2:13 am

    Moto Racer 2 is better.

  • Treise

    December 29, 2014 at 4:01 am

Alot of game on the 64 seemed to have done that….Waveracer!…Hyrdro Thunder!!…etc.

  • December 29, 2014 at 6:27 am

Very cool! Only thing is, you should´ve tagged the player names on screen, so we would have known who´s who. Anyway, entertaining episode so far!

  • FullMetalHobbit

    December 29, 2014 at 7:24 am

Physically I feel I could easily overpower all four of them although bootsy would be the strongest. But in a survival situation I would quickly enforce alpha dominance and proceed to claim the females. The females in this case being Kevin and Mike, I would force the other two to gather food.

  • FullMetalHobbit

    December 29, 2014 at 7:29 am

The only way to survive is to be more powerful than your enemies and then to crush them and force them to bare witness as you conquer their females.

I hope sometime you guys do Rygar and The Guardian Legend.

    December 29, 2014 at 10:00 am

It depresses me that half the comments here are about how Kevin holds an N64 controller. Seriously kids, give it a rest, the guy just co-directed the AVGN movie and he is allowed to hold a nearly 20 year old video game controller any way he wants.

  • Grandmasterp

    December 29, 2014 at 10:31 am

Man, James really knows his shit! I think you can unlock the original excitebike in the 64 version. Those end labels are pretty cool too. Sega did have the best game cases. You can get those after market hard cases for your NES, N64 and SNES games with the box art like the originals, and those are nice, but how would you like to buy those for your entire collection? Ouch.. Oh yeah, just one more thing,”Goblins and Gnomes”.

  • December 29, 2014 at 11:05 am

The best part about this game was watching the replays of the crashes after each race or trying to wipeout as hard as possible and seeing it from other camera angles.

Im so glad Mike called Kevin out for holding the controller the wrong way.

  • itscmillertime

    December 29, 2014 at 3:59 pm

I am glad you brought up the fact that kevin was holding the controller wrong! Haha. Btw, when does avgn movie come out on laser disc and DVD!?

    December 29, 2014 at 5:12 pm

New guy is funny. Always good to see Bad Luck Bootsy, would be great to see more board james!

  • December 29, 2014 at 7:07 pm

It’s not just Genesis boxes, also Master System boxes were like that! Thanks to that I still have all my SMS boxes and manuals from 25 years ago! My friends who had Nintendo consoles don’t have any of them anymore.
Oh, and about end labels, I believe the problem is that Japanese never had them! Famicom nor Super Famicom had end labels, so it basically was an idea of Nintendo of America to add them, but with N64 they decided to keep with the original Japanese design (Europe already did that for SNES, in fact European SNES cartridges are the same as Japanese, with no end labels).

You guys should really try out Virtual Bart. I think that’d be a great game for your format.

  • Ray Unterzuber

    December 29, 2014 at 10:59 pm

Bootsey and Kevin make this shit* man. All in a great way…Kevin doesnt know shit and Bootsy is like “Aww man, how bad are you?” then Kevin is like..”Man give me a break before I glitch up your life and music career.” I love yah Kev, but the controller isnt the crane game and Mike Matinee– not everyone is wrong. James: you continue to put up with the shit you want too. Not the shit that these guys put out.

  • Kacie

    December 30, 2014 at 1:46 am

Kevin’s miscalibrated joystick is way too distracting. How the hell could you play like that. Why didn’t reconnect your controller>

  • CooterIntruder

    December 30, 2014 at 1:49 am

Was player 3 too baked too realize his joystick was off-centered or too baked to say anything about it?

  • ejp022791

    December 30, 2014 at 3:14 am

Lmao @ Kevin holding the controller the wrong way. I’ve seen so many people do that it drives me nuts. Great game though. Surprised they didn’t point out the original Excitebike is in the game.

  • Bunshichi

    December 30, 2014 at 5:14 am

Mike is being a huge dick like always

    • Bunshichi

      December 30, 2014 at 11:47 pm

Yeah I know Mike can fill some pretty big spaces alright.

Sorry it was only a joke and I dont blame you for not getting it.

  • gluserty

    December 31, 2014 at 4:53 am

I’m terrible with games that have multiple screens, but I like the looks of this game!

  • gluserty

    December 31, 2014 at 5:02 am

Is Mike a video game genuis or what?

  • gluserty

    December 31, 2014 at 5:05 am

    I meant “genius”.

  • Kent Gissing

    December 31, 2014 at 2:27 pm

Happy new year, James and Mike. 🙂 I got a mission for you. Can you find any game for any console, that somehow centers around the theme of new years eve? ^^

    January 1, 2015 at 9:09 pm

I just wanted to say thanks for all the vids you guys make. It’s New Years Day now… and I am sitting here working through my hangover. I have been a fan for years… but for some reason sitting here with this video…. I felt the intense need to tell you how much I enjoy your videos. Thanks for many great years of entertainment and I hope the next year goes great for you all!

    • January 2, 2015 at 3:27 am

Thanks for watching all these years. =) Keep watchin’ we’ll be there

  • Matu

    January 2, 2015 at 3:53 am

No wonder the guy with the beard (sorry, don’t know his name lol) is so bad at the game; he’s hold the pad like a complete ‘tard!

  • Simon Sayz

    January 2, 2015 at 9:05 pm

There’s a pornstar from my hood called Vyxen Steele lol it was funny hearing you shout her name

  • Bags

    January 3, 2015 at 6:34 pm

Please remove the Woman in Black 2 ad. It covers the whole main page and is obnoxious.

  • diegowar

    January 3, 2015 at 9:13 pm

Another really fun video. I’m not one for “Let’s Plays” nowadays simply because I don’t really have time, but the James & Mike Mondays videos are an exception. My favorite episodes are the ones where you challenge yourselves to complete the game or at least some part of it, where we see all the attempts 🙂

  • January 11, 2015 at 11:08 pm

Kevin does know you grip the middle of the controller to use the z button and stick…?

  • January 11, 2015 at 11:11 pm

    Is Kevin special?

  • skwij

    January 28, 2015 at 5:46 am

I know how Kevin feels. I never played N64 enough to get the hang of its infernal controller. Watching me try to play the Mario Kart for that thing is like trying to watch a monkey try to do math and hump a football at the same time… Thanks for the video!

Great vid. But i was thinking, is 64 the kids version of 69?
