Very Nice 😀
Thanks James and Mike for making Shitsmas such a long series!
December 18, 2014 at 9:51 pm
yeah it was a great idea.
December 17, 2014 at 1:20 pm
Sigh* Pam Anderson… yeesh. Also, James, thank you for doing a PS1 game. Good console but a lot of the games were middle-of-the-road and awkward.
December 17, 2014 at 1:34 pm
So this is basically a quicktime event game before quicktime events were really a thing? Huh.
December 17, 2014 at 2:05 pm
December 17, 2014 at 5:31 pm
You mean like the 1983 Dragon’s Lair, released 18 years prior to this thing?
December 18, 2014 at 6:10 am
QTEs have been around for decades in games, long before this.
December 17, 2014 at 1:39 pm
Awesome job, James! Can’t wait to see what tomorrow’s episode will bring.
December 17, 2014 at 2:44 pm
I wonder… Spirit of Speed 1937? worst Dreamcast game ever from LJN/Acclaim?
December 17, 2014 at 1:47 pm
“This a scumbags idea of the game: ‘Let’s get some slutty girls and give ’em guns. Huhuh.'”
James obviously never saw an episode of the series. 😀
December 18, 2014 at 9:11 am
Obviously James has better taste in TV shows.
December 17, 2014 at 1:52 pm
Pam was so hot back then…thing of beauty…
This game? Not a thing of beauty…
December 17, 2014 at 2:43 pm
I Just Hope Spirit of Speed 1937 is next. I have always hoped James will review it.
December 17, 2014 at 3:09 pm
Glad i never tried this game XD
December 17, 2014 at 3:28 pm
“And in the end… all I’m doing is just pressing buttons.”
You mean… just like you do in every other game?
December 18, 2014 at 1:39 am
I said the exact same thing.
January 22, 2015 at 11:56 pm
He is referring to how most of it is just copying the button commands as it automatically moves you to the next screen. This is when taking something literal would be the right way and not in general like your thinking. But I’m sure you already knew that. That’s what turns me on about ‘cha, your attention to detail.
December 17, 2014 at 4:32 pm
What the smeg is this? It’s hardly a game. Looking forward to Day 8, James. 🙂
December 17, 2014 at 4:57 pm
Hahahaha! You know in all fairness. For a shitty game idea, it really isn’t that bad of a TV-to-game adaptation. I mean it could have been worse. Way worse. Here is looking at you Rodger Rabbit.
December 17, 2014 at 5:01 pm
not that this game is any good, but there HAS been games like this (Pa Rapper da Rapper) that are decent when done right… would you say the same thing about that game? I feel like the type of person who would want this game would like this type of game play…. no?
December 17, 2014 at 5:09 pm
LOL this reminds me of Rambo on the PC, except rambo on the pc was a utter failure for 2014. On rails shit, both games are.
December 17, 2014 at 5:26 pm
Wow, that’s pretty antiquated for a Playstation game. A bunch of glorified QTEs and rail shooter segments? Boooo!
December 17, 2014 at 6:01 pm
Cranking these fuckers out james!
December 17, 2014 at 7:23 pm
i remember seeing this at a local pawn shop, didn’t realize the game was that BAD.
December 17, 2014 at 7:56 pm
I viewed “V.I.P.” a few times; I found it watchable, but nothing to get on bended knee for. I actually liked the actress Molly Culver in that show (she also had segments on the “I Love the 80’s” shows and played a wife in a couple of those black and white commercials for the Chase Sapphire credit card)
December 17, 2014 at 9:10 pm
This game is like Heavy Rain’s mentally challenged brother.
December 17, 2014 at 9:21 pm
Created an account just to say I’ve been a fan for years and holy shit am I glad you’ve been doing this 12 days of shitsmas
December 17, 2014 at 9:31 pm
Down Square X *yawn*
December 17, 2014 at 9:46 pm
James, when you were describing their looks, how they are trying to look life like while looking completely fake, you were perfectly describing what is known as “the uncanny valley”. It’s the reason why we find things like that ultra-lifelike japanese robot so god damned creepy, and why we find things like dolls and teddy bears appealing.
December 17, 2014 at 10:01 pm
I really want to play the controller game with you if we ever get to meet. That would be fun. Nerd says press the d-pad. Nerd says press the x button. Nerd says press the square button. Now press the select button. I didn’t say Nerd says!
December 17, 2014 at 10:26 pm
I honestly have to say this game isnt nearly one of the worst games that the AVGN has played. But it still blows farts up a Pikachu’s thundery asshole.
December 17, 2014 at 10:44 pm
“she’s fighting with her purse”
I DON’T KNOW YOU! THAT’S MY PURSE! … probably a good thing King of the Hill never got a game. 🙂
December 17, 2014 at 11:08 pm
Actually, the faces are pretty damn good for PS1….If you disagree, then at least you can agree that it looks better than Charlie’s Angels for PS2.
December 17, 2014 at 11:12 pm
Oh lord…That soundtrack… ::wince::
So uh….Exactly how hard do you have to hit someone with a purse to knock them unconscious? Does she keep a bowling ball in it?
December 18, 2014 at 3:02 am
So the game is basically a rhythm game with rail shooter sequences. James, if you don’t care for the ridiculous notion of women dressing inadequately for battle, I wouldn’t recommend the anime Daphne in the Brilliant Blue where the all girl team wears even less. As for this game, it doesn’t look nearly as terrible as I was expecting, but I have no intention of ever playing it.
December 18, 2014 at 3:40 am
Excellent, just as I started this vid, Lethal Weapon showed up! Two episodes tonight. 😀 You rock.
December 18, 2014 at 4:54 am
The Playstation was quite primitive. And I remember it like it was yesterday that it was launched.
December 18, 2014 at 6:11 am
It was far from primitive when it was released,
December 18, 2014 at 8:22 am
If Pamela were as big today as she was back then, Michael Bay would put her ALL over his crappy movies instead of Megan Fox. LOL
December 18, 2014 at 8:25 am
“Let’s get some slutty girls and give em guns, heh heh!”
Sounds like the Resident Evil movies. LOL
Glad that Pamela Anderson’s popularity is gone. She never made a good movie.
December 18, 2014 at 9:06 am
Barb Wire is also known as Fucking Casablanca!
December 18, 2014 at 9:13 am
I think I just got Hepatitis C from watching this.
December 19, 2014 at 2:24 am
So, basically, VIP is basically the Dance Dance Revolution of action games. Gotcha.
P.S. I avoided this show like the plague when it was on. Trust me, James, you’re not missing much.
December 19, 2014 at 3:12 am
Looking at your review it seems the game is fairly faithful to the TV series.
If I recall right VIP was meant to be a high profile bodyguard/investigation agency in LA. Pamela Anderson’s character was a model that VIP hired to be a ‘face’ of the company of sorts. She was used to babysit clients or go undercover to get information but do very little of the hands on fighting. Thats where the other VIP staff came into it.
In that respect the game covered it well.
December 19, 2014 at 6:17 am
Oh… My… God! I bought this from EB Games (before Gamestop bought them) for $0.01 – I never actually played it, I ended up taking it to a local place that did trade-ins and got got $3 for it. I guess that means I have a favorable opinion towards it.
December 19, 2014 at 1:59 pm
What a load of shit – this game is horrible.
December 19, 2014 at 2:52 pm
James needs to review Quovadis on the C64, a MANS game this was with a £25K septre to whoever finished it back in the mid 80s
December 19, 2014 at 4:27 pm
Great, but you weren´t as hard-egded as you used to be.
Is it contemplation due to the christmas season or the mysterious kindness of one that grows older? 😉
December 19, 2014 at 5:10 pm
I bought this game for 1.99 a couple of years ago. It’s pretty damn good for a show-based game. Those button presses are actually very challenging. James is sugar-coating the gameplay obviously and ragging on it just because of the title/cover. Most of the games are not as bad as they are made out to be. Looks like he’s running out of actual bad games.
December 25, 2014 at 11:39 pm
Victoriously Impressive Presentation!
December 26, 2014 at 8:04 am
Well for once the game although it looks hidious from the outside was pretty
December 26, 2014 at 8:05 am
Well for once in the times even though this looks hidious bad from the outside it was pretty nice to be pretty wel made.
December 29, 2014 at 9:39 pm
…I thought hippos fart through their mouths lol
January 3, 2015 at 6:58 pm
Look up Maurice Hurley, for a bizarre trip through Mediocrityville.
January 20, 2015 at 6:09 am
Long ago, when this game was in the discount bins, I seriously thought about buying it and now, I’m really glad that I didn’t! Thanks!
March 17, 2015 at 12:36 am
Yay, a Playstation game. You need to do a few more Playstation games every now and then as there is a minefield of crap among the gold that system created.
March 31, 2015 at 5:08 am
I actually got my PS3 controller out and started playing with James lol.
May 19, 2015 at 2:18 am
You know, I’d be interested in seeing a full review of this where you beat the whole thing. That is, if there’s enough material for you to work with.
May 25, 2015 at 9:12 pm
Isn’t pressing buttons how you play pretty much every video game (besides a few exceptions)?
July 9, 2015 at 12:52 pm
It should’ve been called vipqte (vip QuickTime events).
July 3, 2016 at 2:45 am
Hahahaha it’s camera angles are like the crow city of Angels game, terrible!!
