You Know What’s Bullshit!? – Dangerous Funeral Processions – Episode 32

This time, it’s about the tradition of funeral processions, and how they disrupt the normal flow of traffic, endangering the lives of everybody on the road. Let’s respect the dead, but let’s also respect the safety of people who are still alive.

Another great video, but can’t you redesign that mask so it doesn’t muffle your voice? Maybe widen the mouth area and use more makeup there.

It’d be nice if he got rid of it completely, but yeah I agree the muffling of his voice gets kinda annoying. Plus, I like his voice. :v

    • December 10, 2014 at 8:33 am

I have always said it, the mask is unnecessary. I find it funny but as you say, it muffles James’ voice. I think that one shot at the very beginning of it (when he is saying You Know Whats Bullshit) is enough and then do the rest of the video speaking off the screen showing only illustrated cards and photos. By the way, those cards were really good and should be back. They were an essential part of the sketch.

He usually dubs over his voice anyway when the camera is on the BS Man

The mask is perfect. His voice should sound shitty and muffled due to the fact that bullshit man’s mouth is full of shit. He’s a pile of dung for christsakes. We deserve nothing more. Keep up the hard, good work all who are involved with the great prolific CINEMASSACRE!

        December 27, 2014 at 3:25 pm

Yes, but the voice/sound changes from clear to muffled between the other shots and the BS Man in the mask shots.

There’s no such bullshit in Europe. And I like your mask. It makes these videos more funny.

You know? You do bring up a good point. I only went to a few funerals to take notice of that. If there is a funeral going on, the procession should be set up like a parade. That way people would know what is going on before something bad happens. I gotta admit, I thought this episode would leave me scratching my head like the last two, but that was actually really good. Respect the dead and the living.

You know what’s also bullshit? Dangerous ambulances.. it’s the same level of irony. Funeral procession causing more dead, ambulance rushing to save lives kills more people by blowing through a red light too quickly.. yep.

  • December 10, 2014 at 10:16 am

You know what’s BULLSHIT? That mask. Seriously get ride of the fuckin’ thing.

    • December 10, 2014 at 10:17 am

      rid*

    • December 16, 2014 at 2:58 am

Yeah. Might as well just get rid of the AVGN’s shirt and glasses, because they are not an important part of the character.
Why do people complain about such irrelevant things? As long as the video is entertaining, it shouldn’t matter.

I think his GPS directions are from the mall from Dawn of the Dead to the cemetery from Night of the Living Dead. Nice.

  • JayRam

    December 10, 2014 at 11:00 am

James, keep the Bullshit Man mask: it’s part of what makes this series funny.

    • ToadRoad

      December 11, 2014 at 12:10 am

I like the mask too. I think if anything needs changing, it’s the backdrop. I support not using the nerd room to distinguish the characters/series, but he’s just sitting in front of a door in what looks like a hallway/foyer. The intro looks good with a solid color backdrop, so even something like that would be a nice change.

I am terrible but that angle on the preview shot made me immediately think of the Super Nintendo Taz-Mania.
“Jump the cars, James!” … before I remember how well that usually worked out in the game. 😛

    December 10, 2014 at 3:42 pm

I love how you used the Evan’s City Cemetery! From Night of the Living Dead of course. I live 20 minutes or so from there 🙂

  • December 10, 2014 at 6:48 pm

Really? Wow, this is crazy American bullshit at its finest. No such thing in Spain and probably all of Europe.

  • Satnav

    December 10, 2014 at 7:05 pm

It seems that James re-recorded his lines in the mask over for the other videos to get around the muffling issue, but not this one.

    • ToadRoad

      December 11, 2014 at 12:15 am

I like that he uses the mask since it sounds like he usually dubs the lines anyway (like you said), but here it was a jarring shift in audio from the on-screen BS man parts to the off-screen parts.

  • Pablo1989

    December 10, 2014 at 10:18 pm

Iver never seen that kind comvoy on road, only i know Hearse just drive to chapel/church, and leave cofin with dead here, the familty/friends of dead just way on your own.

  • Tross

    December 11, 2014 at 2:38 am

I’ve actually never heard of this practice. It must be an American thing. They’re actually allowed to disregard traffic lights?

  • Kent Gissing

    December 11, 2014 at 6:57 am

Wow, I don’t even think that is legal here in Sweden. :O You run a red light, you get the cops all over your ass no matter what.

  • December 11, 2014 at 6:59 am

Are you ever going to restock the AVGN Volume 5 DVD?

  • Gumpa

    December 11, 2014 at 7:57 am

This practice doesn’t exist anywhere outside of the United States, and is not even universal to every state in the U.S. In most places in the world and in the U.S., a funeral procession follows the same rules of the road as everybody as else, including stopping at red lights and other traffic signs.

  • December 11, 2014 at 3:39 pm

I can also add about religious processions that block the road. I get it, it’s important to them, but don’t block the road.

  • Moose Of Woe

    December 11, 2014 at 6:12 pm

    Bullshit indeed.

  • goodpenisbadpenis

    December 11, 2014 at 7:23 pm

    FUCK TRAFFIC!!!!

  • December 12, 2014 at 12:07 am

This must be a Northeast thing. In Texas, every funeral procession has several police motorcycles that will enter every intersection with their lights flashing to let you know a procession Still annoying, but at least it is much safer that way.

    • December 12, 2014 at 1:19 am

I live in the northeast, and there is a cop that directs traffic for the funeral procession.

  • December 12, 2014 at 1:03 am

I have never disagreed with you James but on this one I must. This is NOT the fault of the people driving. This is the fault of either the Mortuary/Funeral Home, or the local police. In every funeral procession I have ever been a part of there are escorts that will block the intersections until the last car comes through. Maybe where you live this isn’t a common thing but everywhere I have been to a funeral this is the norm.

  • December 12, 2014 at 1:18 am

In my town during funeral processions they actually have a cop on a motorcycle that stops at intersections and directs traffic at the light the the funeral is currently passing. I thought most places did this.

  • December 12, 2014 at 2:03 am

Maybe people should be made aware that you CAN request a service from your local police department for an escort for the funeral-goers. When my father died last year to cancer, my half-brother helped arrange the police department he worked for to help lead the funeral and have a police car at a traffic lit intersection to hold off traffic while the funeral-goers passed with everyone involved having their hazards. Every funeral service in my area has always had a police escort involved.

  • December 12, 2014 at 3:42 pm

    You know what´s also bullshit?

    The Player on your website!

Sorry, I had to tell you.

  • December 12, 2014 at 5:10 pm

What town do you live in that the most mundane and ordinary occurrences can reach this level of bullshittery?

  • synthfreek

    December 12, 2014 at 8:38 pm

I have NEVER seen a funeral procession go through an intersection like that without a motorcycle cop present.

  • fallout1312

    December 13, 2014 at 3:59 pm

James your so funny man. And your always right too. lol…I love it man.

  • Jason Goins

    December 13, 2014 at 11:02 pm

I guess it’s a Southern thing, but here in Florida, the cops block the intersections when the procession passes to prevent any accidents. Also, all other traffic stops completely until the procession passes out of respect…which if I remember correctly, isn’t done elsewhere in the country.

  • oscuro

    December 14, 2014 at 1:33 pm

It is stupid that a bunch of people going to a funeral need to all move in one huge group. Pretty stupid and unnecessary when you think about it. I mean there isnt a single other time when anyone does that.
Just another stupid tradition people follow for no good reason

  • Strazdas

    December 16, 2014 at 5:50 am

The situation you described is not “bullshit”. its ILLEGAL. they have no right to drive over red light regardless if whether they are a procession or not. next time call the cops on them.

  • December 17, 2014 at 8:58 am

Well as you said james respect also the live ones.

  • likalaruku

    December 18, 2014 at 12:32 am

I read that in Cincinnati this year, a hearse got T-bones & flipped during a funeral procession.

I know a new one you could do. This has been something that pisses me off every time, and it’s total bullshit. Why do the commercials on the internet have to be so loud compaired to the show. I was watching some video’s tonight on Youtube, and shows on AMC, and CBS. The show I have it turned up to where you can hear it and it’s not too loud at night for when my kids are sleeping. Then you have to constantly turn the tv down when it goes to commercials because some of them sound like you are trying to blow your speakers out. Espeicially if you walk away to go to the bathroom or get something to drink etc and you are running back to try to hurry up and turn it down. I thought the FCC passed the law that commercials had to be same volume as show. It’s total bullshit.
