You in this interview came off a little unnatural, sorry James.

    • September 27, 2014 at 6:20 pm

      unatural how?

In a interview you are suppose to sound emotionally genuine, didn’t come out that way, here.

    • September 28, 2014 at 12:52 am

He……kinda sounded exactly how he always does in every non-scripted thing. If you haven’t noticed, he’s a bit quiet and awkward in real life. I’m not really sure what your point is.

Yeah, he never claimed to be a professional interviewer. He’s a filmmaker who wanted to interview someone who appeared in his film because of his place in videogame history. To hold him to the same standard as Letterman is bordering on delusional. He came across as he always does in unscripted stuff, a little nervous and awkward but still enthusiastic and interested.

It didn’t feel in anyway like how he acts in reality. He should have got some question set up and answered them on the spot, I am not sure I getwhy this was pre-scripted. Ge seems pretty well spoken enough on James and Mike Mondays, this wasn’t the best idea, especially for bonus material.

I’m really conflicted about this movie. Should I rent it from Vimeo, or wait and buy the Blu-Ray? Hmm…

What a great man and good sport, he also seems to have a great sense of humor! Awesome clip, interesting addition to the background and nice to get his take on things.

If this clip is an indication of what the making of documentary is going to be like, then the documentary is going to be far better than the actual movie.

Maybe. Let’s face it, the film itself was just decent, which was all I ever really wanted or expected on such a limited budget and the whole B-movie feel he was going for. Getting to see how he put it all together, though? Potentially fascinating.

  • September 27, 2014 at 5:22 pm

Awesome interview ( I assume it will be included as a part of the extra futures of the Blu-ray ).
Absolutely can’t wait for the blu-ray release.

  • September 27, 2014 at 5:22 pm

The movie is a great laugh, and it was intended that way.

Even if you think it’s shit, can’t you at least come up with something constructive to say? No one’s going to learn anything from you stating that something is shit and saying James can’t do good. It just makes you look like an asshole, and I don’t think that’s what you intended. Is it?

Pretty obvious that it was entirely his intention to act like a cunt in order to get attention. Sadly, it’s worked.

Very cool! Cant wait to see all the other behind the scenes stuff on the Blu-Ray.

I liked this little documentary. I never knew Warshaw became a psychologist. Glad to see he likes the movie. I have to agree. the AVGN Movie will, in time, become a cult classic. πŸ™‚

Obvious troll is obvious. I’m not going to pretend the film was a masterpiece but you have contributed nothing in your comment. You are everything that is wrong with the human condition.

I saw this movie in theatres and absolutely loved it. I found it very entertaining and engaging. I was shocked when reading several negative reviews on imdb. Someone actually said they “were a huge fan” and thought it was going to be a “2 hour review of et” and were disappointed. If they were such a huge fan they would know the review would be a small small small part of the movie and that the focus would be on what the nerd does when he isnt in his basement. I am absolutely buying the DVD and making my girlfriend watch it! She doesnt like avgn but i just thought the movie was perfect in its own right. You dont need to be a fan of the nerd to like a crazy adventure thrill ride with animatronics and the son from the Bernie Mac show!

I loved the movie as well and will also purchase the dvd. What I don’t understand is what were people expecting. James said this was going to be a B style movie. Cheesy lies and effects, and I went to the theater expecting that. I got it and I loved every bit of it! People are entitled to either love or hate the film, but I’m just as surprised as you are with the low imdb score.

Howard is really cool guy. I got to play my fixed version of the game with him at the dig; it was like we were both kids just playing Atari. I wasn’t at all surprised to see him in the Nerd movie — I was amazed that his role wasn’t as large as it was!

Thanks for answering that question. That made this interview even more interesting.

What’s your point? This game kicks ass! Great controls, great levels, a satisfying ammount of challenge. I’ve beaten it so much times in the past and now. Why do you think it’s bad?

  • October 1, 2014 at 3:13 pm

Actually, according to the Mythbusters, you can shine shit. So there.

  • October 1, 2014 at 4:43 pm

Nice documentary, just don’t do the sequel, James. You got your movie, if i hadn’t seen Dream phone, Mr bucket or AVGN series, i would say you don’t have a clue about a script or a plot. Keep it simple next time, and congratulations on your abomination

  • October 12, 2014 at 5:53 am

    LOVED the movie!
