So stop being a little whiney bitch. If you were first you would prolly be like “ooooh first derp a derp”

    • jasonjrf

      August 11, 2014 at 3:51 am

I would like to see the Scarecrow and the Ventriloquist (Peyton Riley) or Man Bat in a Batman movie. What do you guys think.

  • Nicholas Demos

    August 11, 2014 at 4:21 am

What I would like to see in a NEW BATMAN film:
Tim Burton and Michael Keaton together again.
    To complete the trilogy.
I couldn’t get into the new films TBH.
Maybe it’s because the Burton films are from “my time”.
    I dunno…
Anyway, bring Burton/Keaton for one more round.

    August 11, 2014 at 4:40 am

I loved this game.Never finished it though.

  • August 11, 2014 at 4:44 am

About the whole Batman films thing. I still have to correct people with poor taste who think the Nolan Trilogy is better than the old Button films.

What people don’t seem to get is that aside from Batman and his villain of the week, the most important “co-stars” are Alfred, the Batmobile, and most importantly Gotham city itself.

Nolan gets all of these things wrong. The batmobile is a tank, Alfred is a cockney idiot and Gotham is downtown LA.

All the good writing in the world wouldn’t make you think his films have anything to do with Batman… like James said, he’s kind of just shoe-horned into a generic crime drama.

    • Satnav

      August 11, 2014 at 9:30 am

I disagree. I don’t think the original Burton film has aged that well; I respect it for changing the public perception of Batman, but like with a lot of Burton stuff it doesn’t have much besides visuals going for it. The plot is meandering and doesn’t make much sense, the characters apart from Jack Nicholson are forgettable, and Batman himself is a fuckin’ murderer. I will say it was at least more restrained than Batman Returns though, which was just typical Tim Burton shit with a Batman theme.
In the Nolan films, I actually gave a crap about the characters, and the story. It may not have had Burton’s gothic shit, but then the comics themselves all have very different interpretations of what Gotham city and the world is like. Sometimes Gotham really does look like just another city there.
That’s just my opinion though. The Nolan films have flaws but I think they’re a valid a version as any.

  • Batman91

    August 11, 2014 at 7:54 am

Great video. I love this game, and I have beaten it two or three times. I will admit though, it’s one of the hardest games I’ve ever beaten.

    August 11, 2014 at 8:51 am

You should really do darkwing duck (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darkwing_Duck_(Capcom)) some time. This game was awesome.

  • NashKnight

    August 11, 2014 at 9:39 am

The reason why this game looks so weird, with robots and stuff, is that it was a common practice back in the days to convert one game into another so they would sell better. This probably wasn’t originally a Batman game, it was Ninja Gaiden 4 or something, but then Batman movie came out and they just converted it into a Batman game so it would sell better.

Also check out the Batman game (first, official one) for Sega Genesis, it’s one of my favorites.

  • August 11, 2014 at 10:09 am

I think you guys are doing that last jump wrong on the third stage. Looks to me like the only way to make it without landing on the side part that does damage to you is to do a wall jump from the last block. Then I guess getting lucky and not getting hit by those roombas helps.

  • clovernuts

    August 11, 2014 at 11:13 am

Have you guys heard of a game called Terrordome? Halloween is coming up and I thought it would make the perfect Halloween episode. It is a PC game but its free and it features all of the slasher movie villains like Jason, Freddy, Mike Myers, Chucky and so on. This looks like something you guys would love and was just thinking I could make you aware! πŸ™‚

  • August 11, 2014 at 11:36 am

Dr. Wily in Mega Man 7 is pretty damn hard, if you ever do a J&M play of that.

  • jubjub

    August 11, 2014 at 11:55 am

Why not just take the game out and tell it you’re Batman?

  • August 11, 2014 at 1:54 pm

Mike is pretty annoying in this video. We don’t watch James n Mike Monday’s because we want to see Mofo-Mike flip out and throw a temper tantrum. We watch because we enjoy the nostalgia and humor.

    • August 11, 2014 at 3:55 pm

That is your opinion. I come here just to enjoy the videos. Besides everyone knows as a kid we all flipped out playing these games.

  • August 11, 2014 at 6:21 pm

Man, I wish I had this game during my NES-phase as a child…instead of any other shitty game I owned.
This makes me eager to watch you guys play “Kabuki Quantum Fighter”, I donΒ΄t know why, but that would be ace! How about it?

  • Matthew Collins

    August 11, 2014 at 6:46 pm

I always wanted to see John C. McGinley do the Riddler in the Nolanverse.

James has a tattoo in this video????!!!
    Check out his left arm

  • August 12, 2014 at 12:21 am

Some of the villains in the game are different DC Comics villains. I wonder if Sunsoft was developing a Batman game and the movie got announced part way through so they sort of made it loosely based on the movie.

    August 12, 2014 at 2:10 am

My wish for a Batman film? I guess I want something featuring one of the main villainesses, other than Catwoman(though I consider her more of an anti-hero). Maybe Poison Ivy? My wish for a James and Mike episode after seeing this vid, is for you two to play the Sega Genesis version of Batman Returns, because I had that game as a kid, and would love to see you play it.

  • August 12, 2014 at 3:16 am

I don’t know if it’s been asked yet, but has James or Mike ever played the Rocksteady Batman games?

  • August 12, 2014 at 3:42 am

The ending was the best. Great vid!

  • August 12, 2014 at 4:15 am

I want a Batman movie with Solomon Grundy!

  • Senna4ever

    August 12, 2014 at 7:21 am

I never knew this was based on the Tim Burton movie as it has pretty much nothing to do with the movie at all.

Aside from a few cosmetic likenesses it really bears no relation to the film.

  • Senna4ever

    August 12, 2014 at 7:28 am

I’d like to see a Batman film where he was a secondary character and the film concentrated more on the villain.

You could have a deeper more psychotherapy view of Joker, etc.

Great game, so much fun to watch you two play it. Only problem – low audio signal/lots of noise, hard to listen to in places. Regardless, wonderful video!

    August 12, 2014 at 1:00 pm

Batman on the nes is one of the best games ever. Watching you guys play was some funny ass shit. Already my favorite J&M Monday episode. Good luck defeating it in part 2.

  • August 12, 2014 at 7:13 pm

I don t know how legal you could make it, but you should try some mario 3 rom hacks. Some are rage inducing but others are quite a challenge, if you like original it s right up your s.

You actually can punch those “floor robots” while standing, you dont need to make a crouch, even you can punch almost everything this way.

  • August 14, 2014 at 1:41 am

“Holy bot attack that was a great video!”

But seriously, I love James @ Mike Mondays. More NES games please.

  • Wes Wade

    August 15, 2014 at 1:55 am

I must’ve beaten this game as much as I beat my cock..The Joker is random as fuck but there is a method to killing him..The way that I remember was to start out jumping towards him, just in case he immediately, shoots his gun and try to stay right in the sweet spot between him and his gun(try to stay ducked down and watching for lightning bolts) with relentless, crotch, punching..Just stay right on top of that fucker. Yeah, you’ll probably die a few times but you’ll eventually get the hang of it. Just don’t let him get away for a second and you’ll definitely beat it and it’ll become easier each time you do just like any other whore, I mean game..yeah

  • John Terry

    August 16, 2014 at 1:31 am

This was so funny to watch you guys play. Mainly the parts when James was screwing up and Mike was making fun or vice versa. So fun, reminds of back in the day playing.

  • Jon Casper

    August 16, 2014 at 8:28 pm

Should maybe consider re-branding yourselves after the movie with James Rolfe playing the Nintendo fanatic, and Mike Matei being the Sega rep… But always agreeing that Atari is the one true Lord and Master of the world…

  • nammm3

Very very very epic! Lol. That was insane how Mike got through that last stretch of obstacles before James got to fight the final boss of this video :-O

    September 11, 2014 at 4:37 am

What is this I’m seeing? James and Mike… with Batman? The 1st, 8 bit Sunsoft Batman? I beat this as a kid, and I still have it. I know this one! Hell yes! Thanks, guys!

    • skwij

      September 11, 2014 at 5:14 am

Great video! Thank you! This one was rough, and you guys handle it like champs! I remember kids that refused to accept that you can pass those turbine things on level 3. I always shot those Jader things as they were jumping straight up and down, before they came after me. This is great. Thanks!

Love this game. And I love both James and Mike. But I am of the (probably unpopular) opinion that the Tim Burton Batman is a little overrated. I really like the movie, it’s definitely a highlight of the Batman franchise, but it’s nowhere near as perfect as James Rolfe and Doug Walker make it out to be. It has aged somewhat, Burton doesn’t really know how to do action in a movie very well (in my opinion), and I wasn’t BLOWN AWAY with the visual style (it’s good but I didn’t think it had a perfect comic book feel). I could go into way more detail, but only if someone wants to debate (non-agressively). I’m not a fanboy for the Dark Knight. I understand if someone doesn’t care for the purely realistic style. But I do object to someone downplaying the Dark Knight just for being different from the Burton Batman, which has several flaws. Both are equal in their own ways and I hate when someone praises one as perfect and has nothing good to say about the other. Just my opinion.

Hello James! As always video is good. But I’m really interested in that tatoo on your head oos I’ve never seen it before.

    March 19, 2015 at 8:01 pm

Man, watching you guys play this I cannot believe I made it to the Joker as a kid. Phew, that game looks tough now.

  • June 18, 2015 at 4:33 am

Actually, there’s a game genie code that makes the Batmanβ„’ sprite turn gray, making the appearance more like the movie
