Will you ever make a video on EC Comics, such as Tales from the Crypt, Vault of Horror and Haunt of Fear as well as other titles such as Crime Suspenstories and Shock Suspenstories? I’m well aware you made a video on the TV show Tales from the Crytpt but I don’t remember you ever commenting on the 50’s comics. Do you enjoy those?

Second? Yay. Thank you James. Awesome stuff!!!

Ahhh I’m a fan of monster compendiums, bestiaries, monstruous codices, etc.

Hooraay! I’m not a big fan of my own country but I’m always proud to see in media from abroad. (I’m Hungarian)

You should be, your country has an amazing history.
And remember, Lengyel, Magyar – két jó barát, együtt harcol, s issza borát 😉

I really enjoy the Book videos, and the information included in them is interesting. I love the “behind the scenes” info you always include in the Monster Madness and horror/monster review videos. Thanks a lot, James.

great video James, love these videos about horror books.
May 23, 2014 at 3:32 pm
I like these videos very much. They are very relaxing to watch after a hard day of studying.
May 23, 2014 at 4:23 pm
Love these videos guys, keep them coming!
May 23, 2014 at 5:35 pm
im amazed you got featured in a book.
May 23, 2014 at 5:50 pm
Great, that was interesting stuff right there! Thanks!

The horror rag that I personally remember when I was a kid was “Fangoria”. I used to have a few issues from when I was a kid laying around, but I’ve since lost them when I moved around in college. 🙁

Glad you made part 2 and mentioned the Godzilla encyclopedia. I also remember you featured the Vampire encyclopedia in the 10 lost horror films episode. You should also do a nostalgic book review of The Hardy Boys or movie based books.

Man most of the books you have shown I have them like Godzilla Compendum, and Encyclopedia of Monsters I love them I hope you do more videos like that. I hope one day you will come to some Cons down here in Texas.
May 23, 2014 at 9:02 pm
I remember magazines.

We really need Kirk Hammett to do a Cinemassacre video!
May 23, 2014 at 10:04 pm

There is a Batman (1966 TV show) Trivia book which would be be great for one of these reviews, James. I have two copies of this book. I will send you you one, if you are interested? It is definitely worth a read, for you and Mike, if you the both of you have not read it.
May 24, 2014 at 2:45 am
OMG!!!!!! Enough of this! you and mike playing video games (ok). you talking about movies (ok). Books! all of these things are fine, and most often fun, but all of these things are a “second youtube channel filler”. If I would of known that the Nerd Movie was going to cost me this many Nerd Reviews, i’d of never pushed for it.
Go for your dream, but don’t leave us who’s been around forever with “sometimes” fun fillers. Kinda sad that when the movie campaign started, i thought to myself “if i win the loto next week, i’m so funding this!”. i miss seeing the Nerd. I hope you haven’t lost your core audience.

I have that vampire book, but mine has David from The Lost Boys on the cover. Some things in it are just wrong. Look up Angel (from Buffy), it says he’s from Greece. Still looks good on the shelf though.

I too have The Vampire book, and while it’s a huge resource, it’s also full of mistakes. There’s stuff like spelling and grammar errors that make the book seem less professional but don’t affect the quality of the info, but then there’s some factual errors that make me question the authenticity of the whole thing.

I collect old Creepy and Eerie magazines. I also subscribe to the Dark Horse comics.

Here, in France, we have a well known Horror movie magazine (wich I recommand to every Horror/Si-Fi lovers able to read french) called “Mad Movies” wich has an interesting thing, that is having with a certain publication a B-movie dvd.
So once again, if you know french, check it out !

I enjoyed this episode immensely. In the future, you might want to script things out a bit, because it felt kind of forced and a bit awkward. Try to avoid using “Um” or “ah” too often as it wears listeners done. I did public speaking, so it’s just a suggestion.

OOOH my god, this blew my mind! On the previous video, i spotted and recognized the Godzilla book on his shelf, I’d gotten it in 1998 when the first american film was being hyped, i even pointed it out in the comments section of the previous video. Now, lo and behold, FIRST book he addresses in the newest video is the Godzilla Compendium! James, I think we’re brothers from different mothers! XD
May 26, 2014 at 9:55 pm
I would love to own all of those books! Now to just find an actual bookstore.
May 27, 2014 at 10:56 pm
I’m surprised you don’t have Psychotronic Video Guide.
May 28, 2014 at 3:39 pm
If I could ask James one question and one question only I would ask if he’s a fan of The Misfits. He has to have heard of them.

Whats that song playing during the vampire part? It’s so famous and on the tip of my tongue. It’s killing me.
June 6, 2014 at 7:09 am
Cool collection! Thanks for sharing it!

You have a real problem admitting that those ghost busters were the original ones right? Yeah they might suck if you compare them with the newer version of the real ghost busters. But since you are a hard core fan of monster movies horror and stuff you should made some kind of special about that matter. That 70s flick belongs also in the genre you-we love so much that the least you could do was to mention them to a video of yours about the ghost busters. Not because you dont give a damn as you said in another video of yours avoiding talk about this.Don’t worry nobody will like them more than the real ghost busters.

YESSS! ‘The Official Godzilla Comendium’!!! I’m surprised you had it actually. When you did ”Godzilla-thon”, you actually had a few questions in the review(s) where the book answered it. That is certainly any Godzilla fan’s dream to have! Especially if they update it to the new movie that came out this year. Great monster movie books so far James!
