After getting the chance to meet James over the weekend, I can say definitively that he is a genuinely nice guy. Modest, humble, and extremely appreciative of his fans.
If anyone would try to nay-say the AVGN movie or any of the work that James has done, they really have no idea the amount of time and personal effort, drive even, that it takes to accomplish what James has accomplished. And, I’m sure, having a friend like Mike helps.
Keep it up guys, you’re doing great!

What does that have to do with the comment above?

Don’t listen to these negative comments James.

Been a fan since the old ‘Nintendo Nerd’ Youtube days. The movie will knock em’ dead – and the deader, the better.

But on a serious note: Whether it is the next best thing it another fish in the sea, I know it’s made by someone with not only some true talent, but a passion for film who loves to express it to the world. But still… haters gonna hate. If they don’t like it they can go back to watching jersey shore and Michael Bay films.

I agree with Vulcan here infinity percent. You keep following your dreams and you keep doing what you love. I know the film is definitely worth the wait… Why… It was made by a man with all the dedication and passion in the world. It was made by someone who never let the negative comments get in the way. And no matter how much shit you went through, you made it out the other side stronger and wiser. Looking forward to the movie James! Much love from your fan from the city that never sleeps but needs a fucking nap.

Uhhhh, Vulcan, there aren’t any negative comments here.

James. You are an amazing film maker. Don’t listen to the negative comments. I for one will always be a fan and support you. Don’t let anyone tell you not to follow your dreams. Looking forward to the movie!

    You’re a big time idiot,
the movie will be amazing and maybe the only thing you like on the website is the AVGN but for us who enjoy all the different content from Monster Madness to James and Mike Mondays, this movie will be something to remember. I can’t wait to buy the movie because I support James in exchange of his hard work on so many things we enjoy every week.

So shut up and go watch other things than the AVGN sometimes or he’ll end up not doing anything for us no more. Beside my favorite video by far is the 16 bits war SNES vs GENESIS and its not even an AVGN video.

πŸ˜€ good job on the movie James! Can’t wait to see it!

I’m sure people flipped their shit out when you said Board James will be back. I’m curious on how you will handle continuing from the Dream Phone episode, something among the lines of reviving Guitar Guy in AVGN perhaps?

I dont go to conventions and i dont get much into nerd culture anymore, but I am a Rolfe fan, and I wish i could ask questions too. I will some here and see if they get answered:

“James, with the exception of the Nerd Movie, all your stuff is vignettes. You are always able to find material to make these vignettes out of, and i enjoy watching them. But you have covered so many games already, and there are only so many horror and scifi movies out there. Do you have any thoughts as to how you will proceed in the future? Will you just continue to focus on vignettes, or will you make more movies in the future? Or will you make a drama web series? Any ideas?”

“If you make more movies, what kind of movies would you make? Any ideas as to certain story lines, certain characterizations, certain scenes?”

Basically, I am just curious about what direction you are going to take, because i am the same age as you, and i know how life keeps changing but there is still a lot of time left, and i am curious to know what you will do going forward to stay relevant, remain profitable, and do the things you want to do.

It was good to see Kyle at this panel.

  • February 9, 2014 at 6:27 am

Hey James, how do you like the present I gave you? And how does Mike like his present I gave him?

  • February 9, 2014 at 6:29 am

    Awesome. Thank you!

  • February 9, 2014 at 6:35 am

I’ve been Patiently waiting for the AVGN movie to come out, everything James does is a master piece work of art, i remember looking up random old school video games on youtube and Avgn came up and i fell in love with that style of presentation.

Good work James and good luck in all you do, whether it be film making, taking care of your Family or just messing around with a camera lol be safe and take care

Okay, from what I can gather there was apparently a massive trolling spree on this comment section, and that sickens me.

I’m sick of people giving shit to people like James and others on the web. They take so much of their free time and life to give us free entertainment and make us laugh, yet there are some people who just comes up with the worst excuses and arguments just to stir up shit and attack their confidence.

James puts so much of himself into these videos because it’s what he loves doing, not because it’s his job. He’s been a film maker since being a child and is now able to fulfil his dreams as well as make people laugh and happy with the results.

I only hope some people put their time into the dreams they had as a child instead of trying to shit on the dreams of others.

Dont mind the trolls I think James has a devot following of fans. I know it puts me in a good nastalgic mood to watch one of the nerd videos even though I’ve seem most of them multiple times. Difference with James is he went to Film school I don’t think hes just some guy making web videos. The film background really shows in the production quality of the work he does and is ahead of other web reviewers.

It’s more then that, he’s orignal that cannot be done again on the net. He was one of the first people on the internet to do with what he does, he had no one to be inspired by or learn from. He had an original idea, he developed the character and style from sources outside of the net. And created a unique charm that compliments it that can’t be rivalled by many.

I really wished I could have been on that Magfest and met you James but in the next one I will meet you and also see the movie when itΒ΄s released.

I’m the girl with the Top Gun cartridge that asked about the Zelda board game and the titlecards at the end =D I was thrilled James took my question, last year I didn’t have that much luck. There’re always so many people in your panels!

I’d like to see James do the Apple Bandai Pippin.

You know whats bullshit?… The nerve of that girl to ask James to take a picture with her in the middle of an active panel, and not even have the courtesy of knowing how to work her own phone! That was some bullshit! lol

Kyle Justin did a good job of saving it from the awkward disaster it could have been.

  • February 18, 2014 at 9:56 am

I wish someone would’ve taken the opportunity (since he was actually there) to ask Kyle why he declined to be in the AVGN Adventures game.
