If I take a lamp and shine it toward the wall, a bright spot will appear on the wall. The lamp is our search for truth… for understanding. Too often, we assume that the light on the wall is God, but the light is not the goal of the search, it is the result of the search. The more intense the search, the brighter the light on the wall. The brighter the light on the wall, the greater the sense of revelation upon seeing it. Similarly, someone who does not search – who does not bring a lantern – sees nothing. What we perceive as God is the by-product of our search for God. It may simply be an appreciation of the light… pure and unblemished… not understanding that it comes from us. Sometimes we stand in front of the light and assume that we are the center of the universe – God looks astonishingly like we do – or we turn to look at our shadow and assume that all is darkness. If we allow ourselves to get in the way, we defeat the purpose, which is to use the light of our search to illuminate the wall in all its beauty and in all its flaws; and in so doing, better understand the world around us.

Maybe you should shove the lamp up your ass, maybe the truth is in there! Or god! God looks astonishingly like an asshole.

We all believe in something .. greater than ourselves, even if it’s just the blind forces of chance.
        Chance favors the bold.

Huh? What? What the hell does this have to do with the video at hand???

Feel the same way. How the words light and god got into a funny ass video about weird ass stuff for the NES I’ll have no clue why?

Wait… isn’t this a line spoken by G’Kar (played by Andreas Katsulas) in Babylon 5?

        November 25, 2013 at 7:08 pm

Yes its G’Kar Quote a Random Drunken Comment To see how offended some one might get lamo! & it worked.

What’s amusing about the Power Glove is that, in an episode of Regular Show, Mordecai and Rigby partake in a video game tournament (much like in The Wizard), and win a Power Glove. They get it home, try it out…and it sucks. Reminded me of AVGN so much.

Do you own a Sega Activator? I would LOVE to see you do a review of that thing. It’s complicated to set up(can’t be in a room with mirrored ceilings or ceiling fans otherwise the beams won’t work) is unresponsive half the time, it’s pretty much impossible to do well on any game other a fighting game with it due to how akward it is, and even with fighting games it only seems to work when it feels like it.

Great video! I’m surprised the ‘speedboard’ didn’t make the cut…..the power pad was cool at the time.

    Nice video.
I’ve actually got the Roll and Rocker on eBay! BRAND NEW FACTORY SEALED!
    .
Mention AVGN for a discount. XD

  • November 24, 2013 at 10:22 pm

Wait what the fuck? What about the speedboard? That’s WAY worse than the roll and rocker!! It’s just a hunk of plastic that does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. At least the roll and rocker has wires and circuits and shit, the speedboard, NOTHING. It’s just a hunk of plastic that cost $50 or whatever, and did abso-fucking-lutely nothing. Biggest piece of shit ever.

The first top 10 I guessed correctly for number one. Shit biscuit. The Nerd’s realization that LJN made the Roll N’ Rocker is one of my favorite quotes/moments.

I so wish you would do a video for the Sega Activator. I wanted one so bad as a kid…and it must have been just utter crap to use.

  • November 27, 2013 at 4:21 pm

It’s interesting how all of the accessories in this video are NES based, mainly because he only reviewed Nintendo accessories. Why not make more videos on gaming accessories like from Sega or Playstation consoles? I can think of a few from those.

its funny how for most of #5 you’re playing one of the rarest NES games out there

  • January 15, 2014 at 7:13 am

Judging from the fact that those are mostly made by other manufacturers they didn’t had the proper components to make those stuff work right.Even the original nintendo zapper didn’t work too well some times i think, its because was too early for shits like those to apear.
