        August 9, 2013 at 12:48 am

        @Lozzo

Joke’s on you, sharks don’t have scales.

      • Shawn

        August 23, 2013 at 2:20 am

        @Isaiah Gibson

Sharks do have scales called placoids – It’s porpoise is protection and some.

  • Allen Lucas

    August 6, 2013 at 11:09 pm

Now I’m going to be Quint and hunt down the net for all these films. Jaws 2-4 are probably the only ones I would own. It’s better to buy those sequels than buy all the other craps! The parts with you in the opening and the DVD opening scene are the best parts. Then again, the “best” moments from those movies do take the cake!

  • David

    August 6, 2013 at 11:28 pm

As always great job James. Laughed my ass off. I laughed even harder when I saw the yellow lock wich means you got your movie from your local Blockbuster Store (which is probably closed now) I used to work there for a few years and remember those yellow bastards very well.

  • Infinite

    August 6, 2013 at 11:36 pm

Best shark scene I’ve ever seen was in zombi 2. Where shark fights Zombie. There we go!! Another idea for a shark movie. Zombies vs Sharks.

  • Seriphos

    August 7, 2013 at 1:53 am

  • August 7, 2013 at 1:58 am

If these shitty movies prove anything it’s that CGI must be abolished. Oh, and any movie to do with sharks should be too.

  • August 7, 2013 at 2:09 am

I didn’t think shark night wasn’t that bad,i liked it

James, did you really not know how to open that style of DVD case, or was it all for comedic effect? Wtf am I talking about. Sorry James, I’ve been running on only 2 hours of sleep for the last several days.

  • Stylix

    August 7, 2013 at 2:59 am

Looks like the only idea that hasn’t been done is Sharks in Space which I find surprising, especially during that whole ‘in space’ sequel kick was popular.

Then again I can’t say I know my shake movies so maybe there is one, though I would have expected to see that make this big list.

  • Harley Jackson

    August 7, 2013 at 3:08 am

Speaking of “Shark Attack,” are there gonna be any more Board James episodes, or was “Dream Phone” like the series finale? Because there are SO many other great board games you guys haven’t done yet!

  • August 7, 2013 at 3:11 am

well, there is a Jurassic Park/Jaws hybrid story called Meg. since Jurassic Park was an island theme park with dinosaurs, Meg would be it’s aquatic offspring with prehistoric sea creatures in an aquarium. at one point, Meg was going to be made into a film, but at this point is most likely in development hell.

  • frostare

    August 7, 2013 at 3:22 am

I’m so glad Sharktopus and Deep Blue Sea made it in, which begs the question, what other shark movies are left out?

    • otto meyer III

      August 8, 2013 at 5:04 pm

One that is missing that I know of is The Last Shark. An Italian, I think, rip off of Jaws & Jaws 2 starring the late Vic Murrow. Paramount or Universal sued successfully and had the movie yanked from cinemas.

  • Sephit

    August 7, 2013 at 3:39 am

It’s funny because you mentioned “Sharks in a fuckin bath tub!” Well just watched the trailer for Ghost Shark and there’s one in a bath tub!

Also it’s an homage or rip off of the original Nightmare bath tub scene.

  • August 7, 2013 at 3:52 am

Sir this was the best list youve done in a log time! loved it!!

  • August 7, 2013 at 4:12 am

do I need to download something to watch the vids?coz they aint working for me

  • Orionsaint

    August 7, 2013 at 4:31 am

James, It’s funny when you said, Shark attack in a bathtub. Because the upcoming movie, Ghost Shark, has just that, haha!

  • August 7, 2013 at 5:25 am

How the hell those shit flicks get their funding ?
    It is absolutely horrible.

  • August 7, 2013 at 5:42 am

In the movie Ghost shark the shark kills some one on a slip in slide and a bathtub

  • dicnar

    August 7, 2013 at 6:09 am

  • Arboris Clover

    August 7, 2013 at 6:53 am

I do wonder, did you watch ALL of them from beginning to end? :) Or do you skip through it, and watch it if it seems worthwhile.

  • August 7, 2013 at 7:20 am

My god most of these movies were mst3k worthy.

  • August 7, 2013 at 8:03 am

  • Traditionalfire

    August 7, 2013 at 8:55 am

The list was good but James barley explained why the movies sucked and some of the clips shown diden’t really help with that ethier.

  • MonkeeJuice

    August 7, 2013 at 9:04 am

There is a scene is Shark Attack 3 where a guy randomly says “What Do You Say I Take You Home And Eat Your Pussy?”

  • sZachr

    August 7, 2013 at 9:50 am

Regarding Hammerhead — I’m sure it’s already been said, but that looks like it was purchased as previously viewed from Blockbuster. They locked all their movies with those shitty little yellow sticks. Some asshole must’ve forgotten to remove it when you bought it.

  • Mattashell

    August 7, 2013 at 10:17 am

Are the people in “Sand Shark” trying to be eaten?

  • johnpseudo

    August 7, 2013 at 4:28 pm

  • August 7, 2013 at 5:39 pm

Still my favorite Jaws ripoff has to be Orca, which I believe starts with an orca eating a great white.

  • August 7, 2013 at 5:39 pm

Movie Goof – Glasses fall off his face when the pile of movies fall ontop him. When he removes them from his face, glasses are back on. :)

That was a WW2 Sherman… WITH LEGS. Fucking excellent.

  • punksterdaddy

    August 7, 2013 at 5:59 pm

I’m not kidding there is a shitty shark movie on right now as I type this.
It stars Tara Reid and it is called “Sharknado,”
The plot is… A tornado picks up sharks from the sea and begins twisting onto land. It is soooo stupid, it’s funny but it is played as serious!
    MENTAL!
Well anyway, good idea for a video James and I removed adblocker for Cinemassacre too.
Man I was just about done typing when I saw you had it in your list at number five! Yeah it is on SyFy UK and it sucks or rather bites.

  • Daniel Holst

    August 7, 2013 at 6:02 pm

I would recommend “Santa claus vs Megasharkosarus” Yeah it is real im not kidding, xD

  • henotalkie

    August 7, 2013 at 6:15 pm

You should have waited two years so you could put Jaws 19 on the list.

  • Groudon199

    August 7, 2013 at 6:28 pm

Why are some of the clips stretched?

  • taykel

    August 7, 2013 at 6:43 pm

Amazing! The opening was crazy and the part where you try to open up that DVD case was hysterical. These movies do look shitty I can tell you that. I hope you do another top list like that. I really enjoyed it!

  • August 7, 2013 at 6:48 pm

    Number 9 Sand Sharks starring…..Brooke Hogan..!? o_O

The intro was hilarious too, also the pause to try to open the DVD case (I wasn’t expecting that :P). I was hoping Sharknado would be on the list and it was! perfect!

  • Kraelich

    August 7, 2013 at 8:09 pm

  • August 7, 2013 at 9:10 pm

    SAND SHARKS!!!!!!!!!!!111

  • August 7, 2013 at 9:11 pm

I always thought as a posibility that they made so many shark movies as if some great masterplan is hapening in the movie world regarding so many nasty bites of shark movies.Maybe they up to something, something really big like maybe they want to go on the guiness records or something i don’t know, just make your own thoughts. And the other anoying part is that exept the fact that they dishonor the original jaws really bad, they show it really easy for everyone to take just an after efect and starting to shoot their own shity production.they also take to seriously the movies if you can call them that way,and make them at leas try to make them seem like an adventure. They must make a scary movie sequel regarding shark movies,at least that would be a comedy.

  • clovernuts

    August 7, 2013 at 10:16 pm

That last one is so terrible! Lolz

  • Dore

    August 7, 2013 at 10:16 pm

Some of these are so bad they look like 1st year student films. The Snow Shark one is HORRIBLE looking, and I’ve seen better CG on early 80′s sci-fi shows than these turdbombs!

Thanks for a kick ass list, though.

  • ikensee

    August 7, 2013 at 10:40 pm

OMG he put Snow Shark in there! I think I know someone who knows the person that made it and he was marketing it on Facebook. I loved this video!

I was hoping you’d use 2008′s Marina Monster as your #1 as it’s not only the worst shark movie I’ve ever seen BY FAR, but might be one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen put to DVD. It’s that bad.

  • ghero60

  • Michael Fetterman

    August 8, 2013 at 5:27 am

There are still good shark movies, like Open Water. The main plot is being stranded in water, but there’s still plenty of sharks. Go check it out if you haven’t already James.

  • Extra

    August 8, 2013 at 5:47 pm

Is there another movie Like hammer head out there? because I have a vague memory of a human shark hybrid hopping onto a torch lit dock as if it had been summoned there, everything I can remember about the shark matches hammerhead except it had
less to no CGI it was just I guy in a human shark hybrid suit.

Feel sorry for the sharks in #2 as eating that many guidos will surely be high in cholesterol.

  • nammm3

    August 8, 2013 at 7:51 pm

LOL! That was an amazing list James! I couldn’t believe a movie like #2 existed, friggin Jersey Shore.

  • August 8, 2013 at 8:29 pm

#33. That is a real death scene. That actor died on set by that shark. That’s his real blood and guts.

  • Rick Ross

    August 8, 2013 at 9:59 pm

I was worried by the time I got to number 5 that “Supershark” wasn’t going to make the list. HA!!!

  • August 8, 2013 at 10:38 pm

Very nice! I was surprised to not see Tintorera on your list. I’m curious how the Ghost Shark movie is going to turn out, it’s at least an unique take on the shark genre.

  • August 8, 2013 at 11:01 pm

In all honesty I think Sharknado tops Super Shark in over all shittiness

    August 8, 2013 at 11:06 pm

Now that I think about it, since Jaws 2-4 were on this list, Bruno Mattei’s Jaws 5: Cruel Jaws should’ve been too since it was a badly-made Jaws Sequel, albeit, one done w/o Spielberg’s Approval. :P

  • August 8, 2013 at 11:15 pm

Next list should be Top 40 Monster movies from the Deep Sea.

  • August 9, 2013 at 12:17 am

THANK YOU FOR THAT JAWS IV ENDING!!!!!

I REMEMBER THE TV VERSIONS ENDING TOO AND AFTER MANY YEARS FORGOT IT WAS FROM JAWS IV

Speaking about cutting scenes together from different movies to make a new film. I have heard that, that actually happened in Sweden. Between 1949-1969 there were a lot of comedy films with the character Åsa-Nisse produced. One of the movies consisted just of scenes from other Åsa-Nisse movies.

  • August 9, 2013 at 2:01 am

XD I see what you did here, James. In honor of sharkweek. Can you do a top 10/20/whatever shitty snake movies next?

  • August 9, 2013 at 2:01 am

    You left out Jaws 5.

    August 9, 2013 at 8:03 pm

Hey James, a fun fact, did you know that the movie Sharktopus was filmed in Puerto Vallarta, but the actuall fun fact is that the scene where the sharktopus eats the man that is swinging in a rope above the river, actually those river scenes were filmed in a restaurant, and the main attraction of the restaurant its that its a location from Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Predator movie (the scene from the begining when they fight with the rebels and save the girl) actually the rests of the chopper that explodes its still there.

  • karel1

    August 9, 2013 at 11:07 pm

And the Sad Thing is… I’ve probably watched ALL of these shitty shark movies (plus more than a few others not mentioned). Heck, even own a few! I am mixed on the subject, because as much as I LURV a Good Shark Flick, as an Advocate for Sharks, I feel kind of guilty watching them. Still they ARE one of my Favourite Animals, so Thanks James for doing one of your Quality Pieces on them (If if they ARE the Bad Guy).

I Loved that James did this, quite a bit of Craptasticness and just plain crap list of Shark movies, and what a great idea for Shark Week.
Although, I feel it should have been broken up over the Span of the entire week, and had a little more description per movie. But none the less, a fun way to spin James’ style interests for Shark Week !!

    August 10, 2013 at 7:28 pm

If only Sewer Shark had something to do with sharks, maybe it could have made the list too.

  • August 10, 2013 at 8:55 pm

1.) This is the greatest list in the history of mankind. I only own Red Water and the Jaws sequels, but I’ve seen and loved Dinoshark, Sharktopus and Sharknado and intended to purchase all the rest of the movies on this list.
2.) I know you probably get these types of comments all the time, but I gotta ask. Are we going to get anymore Audio Slaughters? Those first four were fucking awesome, I love all the backstory and the in-depth information. You turned me onto Black Sabbath with that podcast, not to mention helped me in my already going process of getting into Zeppelin and Zombie. I understand if the baby is keeping you from doing it, but maaaan I really want another one.

Good Top 40, but you’ve forgotten “Great White” aka “The Last Jaws” (in Germany with the subtitle “Der weiße Killer”), a shameless Itialian Jaws-Rip-Off from 1982 with absurd special effects (known from “The 50 Worst Movies Ever Made”)! You can watch it on YouTube! You have to do that, James! Greetings! Ben from Germany

    • OldStuffFan

      August 11, 2013 at 8:01 am

Sorry, it’s not from 1982! It’s from 1981! And instead of “Deep Blue Sea” I had taken it on #12, because the movie directed by Renny Harlin is not as shitty as you say! I just wnated to tell it! Greetings again! Ben from Germany

I actually worked on Shark Swarm (#24) as an electrician. I was hoping it would be in this list. We shot it mostly up in Fort Bragg California where they filmed Overboard. It was a two part mini-series hence the 3 hour running time. Took 48 days to film. If anyone actually watches it, the blue Jeep driven by Daryl Hannah’s character was my ride while I was living out there. I got free gas for the duration of the shoot for letting the production use it.

Jaws: The Revenge just came on TV here in Germany and it actually had the TV ending with the stabbing of the shark. The DVD ist coming to me any day, I’m curious if it’ll be the shark bomb :-).

  • August 18, 2013 at 5:09 am

Junji Ito is a famous horor manga artist. so of course in 2001, he made a manga about a shark that walks that hunts these two characters. and of course 11 years later they made a 70 minute direct to dvd anime… why wasn’t that on this list?

  • PresidentJenkins

    August 18, 2013 at 11:12 am

I need to see that Jersey Shore movie. Deep Blue Sea was a good movie though. To their credit, they killed the lead character, which I thought was pretty brave. Really makes you wonder who will survive and die.

    August 21, 2013 at 12:27 am

I’m surprised you forgot to mention one other infamous scene (or should I say “That Famous Line”) from Shark Attack 3: Megalodon; Ben Carpenter (played by John Barrowman, who later gained Doctor Who/Torchwood fame as Captain Jack Harkness) asks Cataline to “take her home at eat her ****y.” That improvised line was so funny, the director (or editor, or both, who cares!?) kept it in the final film! What a shark of a fact!

Deep Blue Sea was quite good and i would put it there with the overglorified Jaws in the 2nd place on the first list.
And sharktopus was one of those movies you can laugh all the way through. works great as a comedy.

And i have to correct you. The Jersey shore chracters are NOT exagarated. That was a realistic depiction.

I can’t remember if I already commented on this, so I’ll leave another one.

It was good to see Shark here, as I own that movie. I’m surprised to learn it predated Jaws, but I’m more surprised that you didn’t mention them stabbing an actual shark on film! Not to mention, I heard that someone was attacked and possibly killed by a shark during filming! Oh, and it’s barely about sharks and barely features any sharks, haha.

  • August 28, 2013 at 8:59 pm

A shark movie that might never get made but that i hope to see one day is “Bait”, it was going to be directed by Paul Schrader and scripted by Bret Easton Ellis (Yes “The Canyons” team).

  • ClassicsNeverDie

    September 3, 2013 at 12:32 pm

All these awful shark movies got me thinking about a movie I saw back in the 80′s called “Blades”. It’s a Jaws parody where a lawnmower kills people at a golf course. Now that’s friggin cheesy!

  • ClassicsNeverDie

    September 3, 2013 at 12:35 pm

James, you mentioned how there would be a shark in a bathtub movie (as a joke obviously), but I think there is one. I remember seeing it many, many years ago on Nickelodeon after watching an episode of “You Can’t Do That On Television”. It was about Jaws popping up in peoples tubs and eating them. The title was something like Jaws 7000 or something, I wish I could remember.

Jaws got plenty of things wrong. For example, sharks do NOT attack people unless they flop around like a seal. Also, they do not hold grudges against people, nor do they roar. And, if a shark does attack you, just hit it on the nose so hard it becomes dazed and confused. The nose of a shark is really sensitive, so hitting it will allow you to get away.

I am a little disappointed, I hoped that James knew about the ultimate Jaws ripoff. Enzo G. Castellari’s “L’ultimo Squalo” aka. “The Last Jaws” aka. “Great White” aka. “Jaws Returns” from 1981. Universal Pictures filed a suit against the producers and the film was pulled from theaters in the U.S and Australia. The scene where the 35 foot Great White Shark takes down a helicopter is hilarious. I saw this movie as a little kid and I own it uncut on DVD. Keep up the exellent work James :)

This has to be the most entertaining, hilarious, and stupefying list I’ve ever watched! There wasn’t a moment where I didn’t chuckle and lose a few IQ points simultaneously…not on account of you, Mr. Rolfe, but the abysmally moronic nature of these films. Also, I half-expected “Jersey Shore Shark Attack” to take the gold, but “SuperShark” must’ve trumped it.
