Sorry for the strange audio on this video. We had some tech difficulties.

Häxan: Witchcraft Through the Ages is a real solid flick.
January 29, 2013 at 5:47 pm
Wow, I like the DVD header… from American Movie. Still haven’t seen that.
Oops forgot my reply… Haxan is fantastic.
January 29, 2013 at 10:25 pm
Yeah it’s easily one of the best movies of the 20’s in my opinion.
January 29, 2013 at 4:49 pm
James, you might don’t wanna get too hyped. I hear Northwestern’s cancelled 🙁 I hope this is not true and that Wikipedia is just bullshit as it sometimes is…
February 2, 2013 at 8:19 pm
You might don’t wanna get hyped? What in the glorious fuck is that? That’s just fucking wrong!

Wait a minute. Wikipedia also says it’s in production… wow, that’s a pretty long production! From 2000 to now? I find that hard to believe. Don’t they mean development or pre-production then, or…? Well, to be honest, James, you should just try and hunt down his phone number or something else or go to a convention where he’s at to interview the man! 😀 Go, I know you can do it.
January 29, 2013 at 4:57 pm
This looks pretty cool! I gotta see his movies, honestly I have probably bought like 10 movies that you have reviewed! I also wanna have a comlete Jackie chan collection! Well keep up the good work and here is a link to a video with some obscure game finds! Hope you like!
January 29, 2013 at 4:58 pm
Very interesting stuff. My interest has been -how you say?- peeked.
January 29, 2013 at 5:35 pm
I’d like to check it out but it’s not available digitally. It’s not likely to be at our local video store (small town). I hope more idependent movie makers try the Louie CK model. That is; put up a website, charge some fee, let folks download the movie.
What are the obstacles to this? Do publishers make it hard to distribute on blueray if a film makers offeres a download?

Nice review! Now I´m looking fowar to watch’em
January 29, 2013 at 6:32 pm
Yeah, I saw this about a year ago and I was very impressed. I told a friend of mine to watch it (he introduced me to American Movie) and he hated it. He thought it was boring. I personally don’t think “slow-moving” equates to “boring”. It’s called “building tension”. Ugh. Well, there’s no accounting for taste, I guess. Anyway, I always liked stuff about demons. Succubus and all that, and it’s all in this movie.
Nice review James. I’m glad someone else liked it besides me.
January 29, 2013 at 7:09 pm
Sweet! I just got a signed copy of Coven from Amazon. There is only one copy of this tape left. Hurry if you want it. Great review James/Mike
January 29, 2013 at 7:13 pm
I actually found this Blu-ray and lent it to James. Too bad American Movie isn’t on Blu-ray yet. They really should get it on Blu-ray with some new commentary and features..
January 29, 2013 at 7:20 pm
The comparisons to other movies are creepy just by itself. I wonder if he made it deliberately or is it just a coincidence.
January 29, 2013 at 7:33 pm
Great review James!
January 29, 2013 at 7:34 pm
dude that Haxan movie looked wild, say a few words about that one some time man.
January 29, 2013 at 8:46 pm
I’ve asked Mark several times about what’s up with Northwestern. He really never has any clear answer about it one way or the other. As far as Scare Me goes, it is definitely NOT the same film. I did some camera work and some audio mixing for the first few shots of it (about 10 years ago or so), and it is definitely a different story. I’m also pretty sure that footage was scrapped and new stuff was shot later.
January 29, 2013 at 11:01 pm
Hell yeah. An old acquaintance made a film called Scalene. You might like it. I need to get off my arse and watch it myself. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1647477/?ref_=sr_1
January 30, 2013 at 3:54 am
What was with the audio here? The movie’s audio is normal, but James’ voice sounds soooo muffled.
January 30, 2013 at 3:55 am
Nice feature this is, sure it’s gotten a place on the movies i have to see. I will not get it soon, but it will come it’s turn. I love the setting and the atmosphere it delivers.
January 30, 2013 at 5:07 am
would be cool if james and mark did some kind of video together. could be as big as a short film, or a 10 minute video of them sitting at a bar, knocking some back and shooting the shit about whatever
January 30, 2013 at 9:15 am
The sound and video quality on this video are really terrible. Was different gear used or what? I notice the player is different too, maybe a different software? Its really quiet bad.
January 30, 2013 at 12:17 pm
I hate World of tanks…
January 30, 2013 at 1:22 pm
For some reason this video dosen’t show up on my internet explorer, neither does Mike’s X From Outer Space reveiw. even though most of the other videos do. They show up on firefox, I wonder what the problem is?
January 30, 2013 at 2:16 pm
I love the way the video/audio is for James’ sections in this video. It looks and sounds just as low budget as the movies he’s reviewing and it works really well.
January 30, 2013 at 8:47 pm
No video, for me it just says ‘Loading Video’ indefinitely.
Name That Tune – Judas Priest Spring Board works, never had this problem before.
January 30, 2013 at 8:55 pm
After visiting the URL twice with Firefox I got the video to show!
January 30, 2013 at 8:58 pm
I spoke too soon. Now I get this useful error after the commercial: Server not found: rtmpt://video1.screenwavemedia.com:80/Cinemassacre
Still no video, my Lord.
January 30, 2013 at 9:02 pm
Refreshed and now it works in Firefox.
January 30, 2013 at 9:23 pm
The video cut out a couple of minutes in. There still seems to be a problem, I will stop spamming though.
January 30, 2013 at 10:35 pm
I would probably really like this movie, thanks for letting us know!
January 31, 2013 at 3:35 am
This might be strange, but I actually really liked the audio quality of this one. At first I thought you were going for a 1990s-style movie review complete with sub par audio, and didn’t realize it was purely accidental until I read the description after watching.
I’d consider doing more movie reviews with that kind of sound.
January 31, 2013 at 10:55 pm
If you’re referring to the Hagstone Demon review. The audio was just messed up. There was nothing that could be done other than reshoot the whole thing.
February 1, 2013 at 6:26 am
Is the video quality bad or am I having a problem with this player? It looks like a 240p youtube video. (Especially compared to the the tittle picture before the video starts playing the video looks low quality.)
I didn’t think the sound was bad though, it makes you sound more sincere I think.
February 1, 2013 at 4:31 pm
James review Coven please
February 1, 2013 at 8:16 pm
My friend plays the John in this movie. It was filmed around the twin cities. I bought it when it first released and had my friend sign it.
